My neighbor served in the Polish military during communist times. I asked about his training, expecting him to talk about preparing to fight NATO. He said all of their training was preparing to fight Russia. Even when they were a communist country in the Warsaw Pact, they knew the truth. Russia has always been the real enemy. That's why former Warsaw Pact and Soviet states all ran for the protection of NATO the first chance they got.
I suppose once you taste freedom after leaving a totalitarian Dictatorship you could never go back.

Ukraine stopped the military advance on their capital when they didn't had help, then mass mobilization pushed them back. then 15 billion in NATO weapons aid arrived and now they are slowly pushing them out of the regions they had fortified. But anyway currently Ukraine has more soldiers, better artillery (HIMARS indeed), and in general way better equipment. 300.000 mobilization won't help much if you don't have the means to train, feed and equip them to stop Ukraine from taking back their provences. It only turns them into cannon fodder.
Now it is the time to send more and heavier military support to Ukraine to keep the pressure on. Putin will never end this war unless people of Russian force him to do it. That will not happen without Ukraine success in battlefields. To arms against tyranny !

The new Russian recruitment has become very difficult due to a major lack of medical supplies, the recruits are being told to take medical supplies from civilian vehicles and to ask family members to send them supplies including tampons to stick in bullet holes. When you combine the lack of military vehicles, ammunition and medical equipment the Russian military is not capable of conducting any major action against the Ukrainian forces. From what is happening the Ukrainian farmers are better equipped than the Russian military.

Their doctrine tells them to sweep up local men and use them immediately, both as fodder and to reduce resistance in the newly occupied area. However in 2022 word about everything gets around too fast to really control, they all know it's hopeless so it's obvious to them that being killed by Russia via Ukrainian bullet and by Russia bullet is the same thing. On fighting back, one option involves extended work and dehumanization and suffering and attacking strangers while the wider world hisses and boos. The other means saying 'fhck you' to those that put you in that position in the first place at the first opportunity. Russia says don't corner me, yet it corners it's own young men now and it might lose a finger, or an arm.
