I have a 2021 Rancher 4c4 foot shift. Love it. It can plow 2 ft. Snow drifts, starts on cold weather and I have had zero problems with it. Great quad!!
My dad's 2014 Honda Recon has electric shift and we basically have had no issues with it. Every once in a while it gets a little quirky like I mentioned in the video, but outside of that it's been fine. I prefer something like this (or a traditional foot shift) over a CVT that other ATVs have.
I have the exact model and I got the winch. I used it on my first outing, went almost up to the handlebars in a mudhole that looked innocent. Engine cut out instantly, must have an auto cut out? If I didn't have the winch it still would have been there. Thankfully no mud got into the airbox.
Wasn't able to find the exact ones I bought but these should be pretty much the same: www.ebay.com/itm/394655079200?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=veB8abJ0T0W&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=rtVDcv-CQTC&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Winch is nice for hooking up a snow plow. I have a 2021 foot shift 4x4 and love it. Great machines!
I've had my 2024 Honda rancher ES for about 7 months. And I've only put like 87 miles on it, but it works flawlessly... the ES works great
Nice quad !! Honda’s are cold blooded. Once it gets broke in and warmed up it will be good to go. I just picked up a 2024 Rubicon Deluxe EPS / DCT.
Thanks and congrats! I need to take this thing out again it’s been a little while lol

It's been nearly 10 years since I bought a Honda ATV. What is everyone's opinion on the reliability of the electronic shift?

No issues on a 350 rancher that had several thousand miles. used on ranch and driven by adults.

I was thinking of getting a brand new one. I have a 2013 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 and it is a foot shift and power steering and camouflage.
I've been really happy with mine so far!
No regrets with the solid rear axle vs the independent rear suspension?
Nope. I'm not a super hardcore rider, not really into excessively rocky/technical trails so it hasn't been an issue
What was the cost of the winch?
I wanna say the kit was around 300 bucks
Honda was a good pick for a wheeler. I like your content maybe you would like mine too ? See you on the trails my Friend.
If you use it the right way it will look like an off road machine
