I wanted to write already for some time, so... Thank you so much for introducing me to the Shadowhunter Chronicles, without these books I would not be in the place where I’m now, they gave me the reason to fight each day, and cope with problems that I would just ignore in the past and told myself that it would get better, as if they were not even here. These books helped me to find my place in the world and truthfully realize who I’m and what I want to do in the future. They helped me so much that I cannot even describe it in words. So thank you, for introducing me to them and for always making my day better with your positivity 💖💖
I’m proud of you!! I loved those books! They were there for me when i had no one a long time ago and it warms my heart to see they have the same affect on others❤️ I still pick them up today!
Wayward Son definitely has some mixed reviews, and I think it's because it's different to what a lot of people were hoping for. Carry On is fun and magical and the love story is adorable, and Wayward Son feels like being brought down to earth afterwards. While I wanted it to be cute and fluffy, I actually love how real it is, and it has the most relatable depression representation I've ever read. You feel somewhat frustrated with Simon for having a total lack of motivation and pushing people away, and it's the exact same frustration I have towards myself when my depression gets bad. I love, love, love the way it was represented because it really hit hard for me in such a meaningful way
I think most of the mixed reviews for Wayward Son comes from it not being as happy and fluffy as the first book. It deals heavily with depression and PTSD. I can see why some people were disappointed with how different it is to book one. I really liked it though and I think you’ll probably like it too.
I think you'll like Radio Silence by Alice Oseman as well. A few of the characters struggle with sexuality. The main character struggles with what she wants to do in college. It's a great read.
If you loved Heartstopper you should check out Alice Oseman’s novels. They’ve all got LGBT characters and Nick & Charlie are even in her first novel Solitaire. Love your videos Emma
I read Akata Witch for my YA Literature course at university and really enjoyed it! Between the mystery/thriller aspect of the kids trying to locate a killer and the culture overflowing in the story, I found it really interesting! I’m hoping to get around to reading the second book soon!
you’re content has been so amazing emma! i’ve been loving all the videos you put out, & the amount of effort and work you put into your videos really shows! keep working hard 💕
I adored Akata Witch! I have read and annotated it a couple of times! It is so beautiful and it explores so many important themes. I really hope you enjoy it and I CANNOT WAIT to hear your thoughts! It is a book that I definitely think doesn't get enough love 😍 I also really liked Emma in the Night!
I've read the graphic novels of TMI many times and they are so cute and although they don't include 100% of the total book, the important stuff is in there. They are really realllllly good and the artwork is gorgeous!
Great book haul! I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY with you on The Beautiful! I mentioned the same thing in my favorites video, because I loved it but felt it lacked the big time vampire element is was marketed as.
I JUST finished Emma in the Night the week of Christmas and oh my Gooooooooood. (It deserves that many o's.) It's such a good read that I found by chance at Walmart. I hope you enjoy it. It's twisty as hell, but so damn good once you discover what REALLY happened. You also gave me a few insights into new reads. I've been randomly tapping into booktube lately, but finally decided to subscribe just now. Can't wait to catch up on some of your older videos!
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has already been released in the UK, and it was one of my top reads last year ! Had me totally hooked, and the reading format was so interesting, would definitely recommend it ☺️
Wow the Clockwork Angel edition is just stunning. I think I'm going to try the graphic novels because I just absolutely love anything Cassandra Clare writes. Next to the Twilight saga it's my favorite saga of all time! 🤓📚🐛
I like the bangs! I prefer the Clockwork Angel 10th Anniversary cover than the City Of Bones 10th Anniversary cover. Warm colors for the win! ❤️ I only read Impulse by Ellen Hopkins. I believe it is the first book that I read in verse. 😄 If I'm very excited, I think I'll use the word ecstatic. 😄
I have read both Heartstopper and I absolutely LOVE THEM BOTH, I'm actually really lucky to be able to go see the author herself at volume 3's book signing.
I loved My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness, it's so raw and honest (and pink!) and the mental health aspect is so relatable, hopefully you'll end up loving it as much as I did ^__^
Love the haul!!! Some of the books you got has been on my tbr sights for a bit while some now I want to get badly.... thanks for the video. When I see your videos the passion that you talk about books makes me want to read more.... I'm so glad I found your page on here. Also love the bookcase...
I work at a waterstones and we get 50% off books and free books sometimes. I really thought it would make me read more but it makes me BUY more, especially the special additions :/// such as ninth house and the confession oop
I always love your summaries of books and how passionate you talk about them and you always make me pick up new books that I would never if you hadn't talked about them ❤️
I read My Dark Vanessa, and did it ever take me on a ride. It was so beautifully sad and heart wrenching. The author is something else with her thoughtful prose. I had to put it down several times over the month because of how connected I felt to the story. I also got one of the Carry On hardcover sleeves, and I'm so happy my books finally match. Thank goodness!
I’m a saviour of abuse and I’ve always wanted to write a book about how hard it is to deal with. I was only 5 when it started and it stopped when I was 11 I’m now 17 and having to deal with that is something I don’t wish anyone to experience.
I am also in the process of collecting Cassie Clares books and TID was my favorite trilogy (currently reading Lord of Shadows) and once I put the money in my card to pay for my preorder of CoG, I’m gonna buy the Clockwork Angel 10th anniversary
I think you would really like The Places I've Cried in Public by Holly Bourne if you liked My Dark Vanessa. It was a book that completely took me buy surprise and blew me away! 100% recommend! (and any of Holly's books in general, she's fab 😊)
I have always been drawn to Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me; the cover and the art is 👌👌. But I'm skeptic since I budget my book buying 😅 Akata Witch didnt do much for me, I think I'm not one for middle grade fantasy.
hi emma! so my boyfriend and i are celebrating our two year anniversary in new york and i was wondering if you had any recommendations on things to do (besides obvious tourist things) or places we should try to eat at? p.s we’re going in april if that helps with anything
WHOA what a haul! I ned to read Ninth House and The Beautiful. It's good to know it doesn't vampire much though, as that was the main reason I wanted to read it and it is good to shift my expectations. Why Are All The Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria actually sounds SO interesting and something I have thought about before so I will definitely be reading that one. I have People Kill People and just need to read it! Another one which interests me and sounds so important is In The Country We Love so I added it to my TBR as well.
19:44 Date me, Bryson Keller sounds like the EXACT plot-line of a Japanese manga named "The Seven Days" by Venio Tachibana. Am I the only one who picked up on that???
Woah two comments?! I am also going to get Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness with the illustrated spines. I already have Lady Midnight because it was the cheapest and I bought all three books at the same time. (Being $3.99!!) I preordered the QoAaD and just bought LoS. That was probably confusing- sorry. Does anyone else have the tiny shadowhunter fairytales from the QoAaD preorder?? Sorry for the long comment
Finally started reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo because the unread series on my bookshelves are shameful. I might be missing this..but where did your wrap ups go? Big End of the year Wrap up coming soon? :)
Didn’t know where Emma was going when she mentioned thanksgiving and then once she said cyber Monday, I was like ahhh. Books and deals 😂 I gotcha girl :)
Have you read anything by Louise O'Neill? If you liked My Dark Vanessa, you may like her writing. Her book Asking for It was about rape culture and how it affects victims. The main character was unlikable, but in a way that I think adds to the story. It's very tough to read though; I think it could be triggering. I read it through audiobook.
Okay I have a question for anyone to anwser. I got "the last time I lied" by riley sager as a birthday present. Do i need to read final girls first? Btw Emma I love your channel!❤
I'm sooo sad supernova won't be translated in my motherthough. I could read it in english but I don't know that will take way longer with all the looking up words ...
Emma on gay covers: *it's gay, i'm in*
Same emma same 😂
It’s not as delayed as my amazon book order 😂
Same. My order from Book Depository is late 😅
omfg😂
“By the way it’s gay”
LOLOLOL same

Hearing you praise my favorite series of all time is so comforting. I'm glad your in the headspace your in.👍
I’m proud of you!! I loved those books! They were there for me when i had no one a long time ago and it warms my heart to see they have the same affect on others❤️ I still pick them up today!

Nicole Footer I loved Clockwork so much!!

Wayward Son definitely has some mixed reviews, and I think it's because it's different to what a lot of people were hoping for. the ninth house cover really matches your eye colour!!
I think you'll like Radio Silence by Alice Oseman as well. A few of the characters struggle with sexuality. The main character struggles with what she wants to do in college. It's a great read.
KayBee Reads yes!! radio silence was by far one of the best books i’ve ever read
If you loved Heartstopper you should check out Alice Oseman’s novels. They’ve all got LGBT characters and Nick & Charlie are even in her first novel Solitaire. Love your videos Emma
I just picked up ninth house today from half price books and when I got home I was so excited to see it was a signed copy!! I can’t wait to read it!
The best books of 2019, where is thou 👀
Akata Witch is absolutely beautiful, amazing, thrilling, and the world that the author crafts is so magical.
I'm not usually a romance reader but The Kiss Quotient slayed me HARD. Highly recommend!!
I read Akata Witch for my YA Literature course at university and really enjoyed it! Between the mystery/thriller aspect of the kids trying to locate a killer and the culture overflowing in the story, I found it really interesting! I’m hoping to get around to reading the second book soon!
Book one is Carry On and the sequel is Wayward Son? Sorry but the Supernatural fan in me just panicked slightly. I am so excited to read those
Yep, the author Rainbow Rowell did that intentionally! Also, Carry On is an amazing book, I hope you like it!
Nora S I’m super excited!
If you’re really interested in astrology, I would recommend getting a costar! It’s an app on the apple store and it gives great insight.
you’re content has been so amazing emma! i’ve been loving all the videos you put out, & the amount of effort and work you put into your videos really shows! keep working hard 💕
Akata Witch is amazing. I gave a four star rating, the only issue I had was the writing at times was a bit off for me, but the story was great.
jkr about the harry potter series: 1:54 lmao
💀💀💀
I'm screaming omg

Omg, I love your light set so hard. Wish to have it. It's just perfect.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has already been released in the UK, and it was one of my top reads last year ! Had me totally hooked, and the reading format was so interesting, would definitely recommend it ☺️
Congratulations on being the book nerd of the year on Epic Reads!! We love youuuu!💛✨

Me : I should read Lord of Shadows
Emmmabooks : *releases new video*

UnNormal Human being read lord of shadows and read it now 🙌🏽😤
Same with me but carrie
Same- I’m reading it right now as well
Yulissa c I loved that book! (one of the reasons why I have the 2013 movie adaptation poster as a profile pic ahhah)
Adrianne Pena I just finished it, and I don’t know what to do right now...I want to start QOAAD, but I’m scared...
“It’s gay. I’m in.” Is the biggest mood ever

Going to add a few of these onto my TBR 👀
Same!
Thanks Emma. Some of those I've read and some I still need to.
I feel like we had opposite opinions on supernova which is fine just so interesting. But, I liked your video for the mini Cassandra Clare haul.
I BOUGHT THE TENTH ANIVERSARY EDITION OF CWA TOO AND ITS SO BEAUTIFUL, I ACTUALLY CRIED
I feel like nobody is talking about Children of Virtue and Vengeance anymore. Compared to the first book the conversation is really mild
Nelli I liked it but unfortunately it did not create a huge hype
Reading it now. Halfway done and loving it
the 10th anniversary edition of clockwork angel has the first chapter of chain of gold too.
I really want to read The How and the Why and My Dark Vanessa!
graphic novels are MY LIFE
THE BEAUTIFUL IS EVERYTHING 🥺❤️
"By the way it's gay!"
I would love a video on zodiac sign book recommendations 💗
I’m a saviour of abuse and I’ve always wanted to write a book about how hard it is to deal with. I was only 5 when it started and it stopped when I was 11 I’m now 17 and having to deal with that is something I don’t wish anyone to experience.
Ur vids are what’ve became my study breaks ♥️😊😊
I am also in the process of collecting Cassie Clares books and TID was my favorite trilogy (currently reading Lord of Shadows) and once I put the money in my card to pay for my preorder of CoG, I’m gonna buy the Clockwork Angel 10th anniversary
I love your book shelf decor 😭 I wish I did that with my own 😂😂
I think you would really like The Places I've Cried in Public by Holly Bourne if you liked My Dark Vanessa. It was a book that completely took me buy surprise and blew me away! 100% recommend! (and any of Holly's books in general, she's fab 😊)
I love your eye look!!😍
THE CLIP ON BANGS ARE BACKKK 😍😍😍
I thought of far from the tree too....
I have always been drawn to Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me; the cover and the art is 👌👌. But I'm skeptic since I budget my book buying 😅
Akata Witch didnt do much for me, I think I'm not one for middle grade fantasy.
Ugh I love anything by Ellen Hopkis!
it's 6:30am on a Saturday and I am now just frantically adding books to my amazon cart
Will you be doing a 2020 Most Anticipated Releases video??
I'm from the uk and have already read a good girls guide to murder ( as it has already been released here ) and really enjoyed it
This just reminded me that I saw you at Tomi's book launch and never got the chance to say hi!
This haul is so damn good! So many interesting reads.
hi emma!
so my boyfriend and i are celebrating our two year anniversary in new york and i was wondering if you had any recommendations on things to do (besides obvious tourist things) or places we should try to eat at?

Happy new year Emma!!
laura dean keeps breaking up with me is SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!
I added basically all of the books to my tbr 😊

WHOA what a haul! I ned to read Ninth House and The Beautiful. do your bangs bother you? i like them
I guess I just bought a few books or maybe 2 to 3 books this year...:D Since I didn't read so much but I hope that will change this year:)
19:44 Date me, Bryson Keller sounds like the EXACT plot-line of a Japanese manga named "The Seven Days" by Venio Tachibana. Am I the only one who picked up on that???

Oh no I’m so sorry you didn’t like Supernova! I know you were really looking forward to it!
My heart stopped when I saw you uploaded!
Finally started reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo because the unread series on my bookshelves are shameful. I might be missing this..but where did your wrap ups go? Big End of the year Wrap up coming soon? :)

Great haul Emma!💙💙💙💙
Didn’t know where Emma was going when she mentioned thanksgiving and then once she said cyber Monday, I was like ahhh. Books and deals 😂 I gotcha girl :)
Happy new year Emma❤️
So.... Why this 'Date Me, Bryson Keller' sounds really (I mean really...) similar to 'Seven Days' manga by Rihito Takarai?
Or maybe it's just me 😅
the author said they were inspired by that story.
I thought the same thing. She started describing it and I was like wait....isn't that Seven Days?
Have you read anything by Louise O'Neill? If you liked My Dark Vanessa, you may like her writing. Her book Asking for It was about rape culture and how it affects victims. The main character was unlikable, but in a way that I think adds to the story. It's very tough to read though; I think it could be triggering. I read it through audiobook.
now my holidays feel complete ♡♡♡
Okay I have a question for anyone to anwser. I got "the last time I lied" by riley sager as a birthday present. Do i need to read final girls first? Btw Emma I love your channel!❤
Your videos always brighten my day ☺️
I've been needing to pick up carry on, and maybe renegades because you rave about it so much 😂
I'm sooo sad supernova won't be translated in my motherthough. I could read it in english but I don't know that will take way longer with all the looking up words ...
