As a kid, my father taught me when ever there is a problem with drainage, Always go to the house trap to further assess the situation. Great video as always. Many thanks Donald.
this is probably the biggest problem with any finished basement.... hidden plumbing with poor access and expensive stuff stored all around. This is a $10k insurance claim all day long. Toss out half the junk, rip up the wet carpet, remove damp wallboard, and spend a week bleaching / drying out before reinstalling everything.... and all because of a $3 box of wipes!
I agree totally. After watching these videos I made provisions before i finished my basement. There is a 1' brick surround between finished wall and concrete wall to serve as a holding tank in case of maintenance w/all plumbing fully exposed.

I have to say Donald. That's a good job you did there. When I go and clear out these drains I find wipes. Quick question. Can you use a wrench or channel locks to tighten those steel plugs on the sewer trap. A customer was giving me shit saying that the right way is to use a wrench to tighten those steel plugs which doesn’t even work. Only way I put those plugs on was hammering it in.
99.9 % of the time, it doesn't work. It all depends on the homeowner. If they take care of the trap and open the caps regularly in that fashion, technically, yes, it happened to me once! But you can remove and install them both ways, but it's usually done by tapped in and out with a hammer 🔨 😉

I'm totally convinced the manufacturers lobbied congress to allow them to advertise that those wipes are flushable, there's no way they should be allowed to make that claim! Plumbers' union did not object...😂
Hey, anything is flushable. Should you? Heck no. I had to help my sister unclog her toilet. I asked her what she flushed? Her answer, left over pot roast. Idiot….
Man alive, what a mess, I feel for the poor home owner. Hope his insurance covers it. Good clean out on yet another wipe mountain. Yuk. Pleased we can't smell what you do Donald!!

The number of sewers cleaned every day with this machine is extremely lubricated! Lol, but in certain circumstances, as Joe m said, motor oil when needed and for other parts of the machine WD-40 once a week.
And we have one of the usual suspects: Wipes!! Good grief! You got to wonder how some people can function. Have a great day! From beautiful Senoia, GA!

That may be one of your most pain in the ass cleaning with the wipes yet...not by number of them but how entangled they were. I am curious from on scene to actually leaving how long that job took cause at some parts you had to speed up and edit some of the wipe removal and stuff but curious how long that all took in the end? I do wonder if that exit pipe was put in poorly or may have something kinking it up like an arch, like a small frost heave to have that sheer amount of wipes collect like that in the pipe. Definitely a mystery but it almost seems like a certainty this place you or your co-workers will be revisiting. :D
Why is the trap inside the house. Why arnt they located outside the property. In the uk we have access chambers outside the property. Saves all that mess being made.
Yep, got all the water err sewage cleaned up, i think i will go flush all my toilets upstairs while the plumber is here. Got the clog, here is a little something for you, discount coupons for sanitary wipes....

OMG.... IT'S A WIPENADO.... That looks like it was going to explode if you didn't clean out of when you did. That would have been a real shit storm.
Holy crap let me guess his problem was excessive wipes Lord Almighty I have never seen that much wipes like that before. Have they ever heard of toilet paper? LOL
I solved the problem of flushable wipes by installing a two-foot diameter drain that goes from my toilet directly into the magma level of the earth. The wastewater cools the planet and the heat incinerates the wipes. Problem solved.
