You don't need to like the same things to have those little moments together like that. My late wife loved to read & I enjoy playing video games. So we'd cuddle up on the lounge together, her with a book & me with a PlayStation controller. & now that she is gone, it is the little moments like those that I miss the most.
The lesson to learn from this is that if you wanna read more, don't start with a Victorian classic. They're good but someone who doesn't like reading isn't gonna enjoy it.
On the contrary, Doug did care. He didn't just act like he was trying, he actually put in the effort to try and be more cultured. Fail, sure...but at least he made an effort.
One of the reasons I started reading alot is because of comic books! When I was 6 I got tired of looking at the images and not knowing what was said. I'm a English teacher today 😌
I've always felt like they left out a weird scene in this episode with Spencer lol cuz of the way he's looking at that chick in the beginning of this clip
I wish Carrie would’ve finished school becoming more than a evil wife & secretary would’ve added perfect character development. This was still funny; they had nothing in common but kept giving this love thing a try .
Probably redid the scene to show the book missing because it wasn’t as funny when he had the book already there, but they kept the book in the initial scene still as an Easter egg
On the land of education. This is clearly the home of all paint pots. With fifty blotches painted on your faces and limbs you were sitting there, and I was amazed, you men of today. And with fifty mirrors around you to flatter and echo your color display! Verily, you could wear no better masks, you men of today, than your own faces! Who could possibly find you out? With the characters of the past written all over you, and these characters in turn painted over with new characters: thus have you concealed yourselves perfectly from all interpreters of characters. You seem baked out of colors and pasted notes.
I love this show. Still watch it, before bed almost every night lol
Same 🥰

good point
Great point!! A Victorian novel's a bit of an overload for a novice reader--(even for an avid reader LOL!!)
especially if you are Doug Heffernan or even Arthur Spooner.
How about Stephen king?
Glhahaahhh thats gay
Poor Carrie! All she wanted was to have a more cultured life but it just wasn’t going to happen with Doug or Arthur. They couldn’t care less.
She tried that cultured crap a few times. She was just you're typical hottie from Brooklyn!
@@richardmorris7063 Lame
On the contrary, Doug did care. He didn't just act like he was trying, he actually put in the effort to try and be more cultured. Fail, sure...but at least he made an effort.
And why should they?? People need to stop forcing others to conform to other people's standards & ideas of culture!
@@bubbaguy4411 True, he did make the effort at times.

But not a very good one, it seems.
*a lot; *6, I; *an English teacher; *today.

That wasn't the book. It was his light.

Carrie should have started off Doug by asking him to read his favorite book of all time! What could that be? TV Guide of course!!!! Lol!!!!
I admire the athleticism of Kevin James so much!
... except at Ping Pong.
Thank goodness for this show!
Best show ever!
Jane Eyre book? Sounds like Friends series when Rachel and Phoebe go to night school.
Yeah, but this version didn't have the cyborgs.
Definitely, maybe.😊
These episodes only get better!
Love this show too..go to it when I need a laugh!!😘
Love the king of queen s I wake up with this
he first got the book, then it went away?! 😂
Our boy couldn't even do one paragraph.
Pathetic 🥺
Opposites don't always attract.
Doug is a magician!!! AT 2:33 he has the book on his tray and at 2:35 his book has disappeared!!!! Wow!!! Lol!!!🤣🤣🤣
I just kinda had this fantasy that you weren't the bonehead that I chose to marry.
0:04 why is spence giving that lady the death glare
Till 2:34 Doug still has the book on his lap. Then it disappears.
Didn't even notice that lol
Jane Austen died well before Dickens and the Brontes were on the scene. Who wrote this script??!
I was thinking that too. She died 20 years before the Victorian Era started.
Doug is so immature 😂
That professor's pants are unnaturally baggy
Car has no windshield.😁
this show is more funnier than ELR
"the parakeet, what with its droppings... signify essentially how crappy life can be"...."there is no parakeet, is there?"
Um.. that book he’s reading sounds interesting. 😅
It really is! I read it in middle school
Along with to kill a mockingbird!
1:04 lol
Doug couldn't focus on anything accept eat sleep and drive but very good actor
What was the joke when Doug looked back as Carrie started driving
If I remember correctly Arthur was still out there taking a piss but I am not sure.
Yup that's what happened lol!

I wish Carrie would’ve finished school becoming more than a evil wife & secretary would’ve added perfect character development. This was still funny; they had nothing in common but kept giving this love thing a try .
They nicely balanced out each other's personalities, though.
They had sex in common. They mentioned a few times how good it was.
They had her go to school for two episodes and never brought it up again.
1:13😂😂😂😂
My wife said Carrie shouldn't look at his nose either. Not sure why.
What was Doug going to say at the 2:14 mark? I don't get it.
Arthur was using a public restroom
And it seems like carrie forgot
I'm not les but I'd totally do Carrie: she's gorgeous, funny, and warm hearted. I see why men like her.
Min 2:31 book is there....min 2:35 book is gone :D
Probably redid the scene to show the book missing because it wasn’t as funny when he had the book already there, but they kept the book in the initial scene still as an Easter egg
I’m confused what was the funny part of her driving away? Maybe I need to see the whole episode understand? Can someone help? Please and thank you. 🙏
They took Arthur to the school with him, stopped to drop off Spence, made a second stop to let Arthur use the bathroom, and drove away without Arthur.
He should have started with Harry Potter
He has ADHD
Doug is Eddie Vedder........ Carrie is Uncarrie JILL Mc Cormick
