Do go when you have a chance! The street food scene is pretty amazing there, pretty much endless options and also has tons scenic places to visit and hike at like Beast Mountain nearby!
Rewatching this for like the third time, too excited for Taipei! Wasn't actually going to head to Ximending as it seemed like a young people hang out place and I'm going with my mum but don't want to miss it now :) I need both the bubble tea and the awesome looking coloured drink.
I think Ximending is pretty nice to see quite different from the other parts of Taipei since it's busy. Although I haven't been to these places, maybe you might be interested in taking a day trip during your visit in Taiwan. I had these two places marked, but didn't have enough time to go there - Jiufen and the Beitou Hot Springs. These are on my list the next time I visit there.
@@JohnQuach totally looking forward to enjoying the hot springs in Beitou and then a little trip to Tamsui old street. Too bad you didn't get to visit I would have definitely watched that food blog :)
Cool video! Very informative. Really takes the edge off for anyone not familiar with exploring this city. We had the Brown Sugar Milk tea from one of the stalls in Ximending, and would highly recommend it.
Apparently from what I read they are Japanese mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes are shaped afterwards to make it super long before hitting the fryer. Then the sauces and spices were added after they have finished frying.
Wish I could have had it up earlier or do youtube full time, but due to my schedule I only have time to really edit and upload once a week or every two weeks at most :(

Osmanthus ice cream sounds good, remain me of Tangyuan from Yu Pin Yuan from the night market!!
