Very good answer on Uigur issue. I think we as Muslims should be above political and ethnic matters that only cause conflicts and destruction. I think whole presentation was based on an idea of being and behaving like a true Muslim. Only for such people God grants prosperity in this life and hereafter. We see many people practicing Islam in China and enjoying their lives.

Btw, generally speaking, any Chinese martial arts developed by Chinese muslims are regarded as effective and not to mess with. As a martial artist we have heard often of Yiquan, Xingyiquan, Xinyi Liuhequan, Cha Quan, Guanniu (bull wrestling), and many more which are based or directly developed by Muslims.
I was also born and raised in China but can't agree with the speaker on what he calls "the Uyghur issue" in the Q&A part. 1) With forced sterilization, mass internment camps, systemic torture and wrongful deaths, it is not a "complicated issue" but a genocide. 2) Genocide cannot be justified by China's "geological" "concern" that Uyghurs want independence. Neither Spain nor Canada sent millions of "separatists" to camps. 3) The people of East Turkestan have the right to "separatism" from China because their country has been unlawfully stolen and severely brutalized. 4) Camp victims include not only Uyghurs but also other Muslims such as Vera Yueming Zhou, a Hui girl who was travelling from her American home to visit her father. 5) I wouldn't call myself a "Chinese Muslim" because this name sounds like "The Reich's Jew" in the 1930s. The Mongols who accepted Islam were the ones who ruled in the Chagatai khanate and Ilkhanate. The Mongols who ruled the Yuan never accepted Islam to that extent.
The Mongols changed their religion to maintain their rule over subjects.A good example of this is the Ilkhanate. Although they appeared to be Muslims, they formed an alliance with the Crusaders. They also applied Genghis laws instead of Sharia.

Im not a muslim, but as a historian i must highlight this second point: 1. U did not mention the chinese surname of "Ma" bcos historically, many chinese muslims carry this surname. 2. "Ma" means horse in the chinese language. Some historians concluded that the surname "Ma" was associated to the visiting muslim traders on horses on the silk road. This is in direct relation to the spread of islam in china. 3. When one speaks of the emergence of islam in china, one must acknowledge the surname "Ma" for its direct association to the religion.

Many theories out there, but this “men of horses from the west with their religion” has always fascinated me in our genealogical research. The silk road has many fascinating historical stories to offer. And the silk road was the door that welcomed islam into the far east.

I was doing some research on Islam in China myself, mainly focusing on the Sultanate of Yunnan (杜文秀起义，平南国) during the end of the Qing dynasty, its interesting because the many Yunnanese ethnicities, the Muslims and the Han coexisted peacefully under a revert Chinese Muslim leader for 17 years until it was destroyed by the Qing. Very good answer on Uigur issue. I think we as Muslims should be above political and ethnic matters that only cause conflicts and destruction. I think whole presentation was based on an idea of being and behaving like a true Muslim. Only for such people God grants prosperity in this life and hereafter. We see many people practicing Islam in China and enjoying their lives.
So we should just label the issue as a political matter and just go about our business as usual?

Btw, generally speaking, any Chinese martial arts developed by Chinese muslims are regarded as effective and not to mess with. As a martial artist we have heard often of Yiquan, Xingyiquan, Xinyi Liuhequan, Cha Quan, Guanniu (bull wrestling), and many more which are based or directly developed by Muslims.

I was also born and raised in China but can't agree with the speaker on what he calls "the Uyghur issue" in the Q&A part. 1) With forced sterilization, mass internment camps, systemic torture and wrongful deaths, it is not a "complicated issue" but a genocide. 2) Genocide cannot be justified by China's "geological" "concern" that Uyghurs want independence. Neither Spain nor Canada sent millions of "separatists" to camps. 3) The people of East Turkestan have the right to "separatism" from China because their country has been unlawfully stolen and severely brutalized. 4) Camp victims include not only Uyghurs but also other Muslims such as Vera Yueming Zhou, a Hui girl who was travelling from her American home to visit her father. 5) I wouldn't call myself a "Chinese Muslim" because this name sounds like "The Reich's Jew" in the 1930s. They are intensifying their rivalry in the Middle East, the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific. I see, it's important info for us to at the minimum skim over, to understand geopolitics & the 'ultimate religion' after skimming over all of them & understanding all of them ✔ | I've already briefly been a Catholic, briefly a Christian, my girlfriend tried being a Muslim including going through all of the processes, I've had friends trying to be Buddhist, I've read the most important parts from every major religion AFAIK, and in the end I just discard everything which is of 'no value' & stay with that which is 'real' as in University level 'actuality'. I also have disdain for people which say that religion is about faith and/or the afterlife, like " You'll find out later ", and I support all lawyer networks and/or police which arrest hoaxsters (with many famous cases).

the word 'east turkistan' is only used by uyghur seperasm，it was introduced by soviet union to legalize xinjiang as uyghur dominate country. I can see why your family got arrested. local tajik kazak mongolian hui people never recongized eastern turkistan.

The Mongols who accepted Islam were the ones who ruled in the Chagatai khanate and Ilkhanate. The Mongols who ruled the Yuan never accepted Islam to that extent.
The Mongols changed their religion to maintain their rule over subjects.A good example of this is the Ilkhanate. Although they appeared to be Muslims, they formed an alliance with the Crusaders. They also applied Genghis laws instead of Sharia.

3. When one speaks of the emergence of islam in china, one must acknowledge the surname "Ma" for its direct association to the religion.

Many theories out there, but this “men of horses from the west with their religion” has always fascinated me in our genealogical research. The silk road has many fascinating historical stories to offer. And the silk road was the door that welcomed islam into the far east.

We have to repent for all the unholy, lawless transgressions of God’s commandments done willfully or unknowingly, in order to obtain mercy and grace so that we might not be judged and fall into condemnation, the condemnation of eternal hell.

What is confession of sins?
