We got a new mic recently. The only part of this video that is difficult to hear is when he's showing off his bay under the bus and that's because a bus engine was running right next to us. We're always working to improve.
no i understand that part. I mean the over all audio just isn't good. get some of those clip on wireless mics. they are a million times better and if someone is beside them talking you will be able to hear them perfectly. Depending on your audio level depends on how good you can hear people and sounds around them. I use one for weddings and i usually put one on the priest and you can hear the bride and groom as if they were using one too. The one i have is about $200 which isn't bad and your sound quality will improve greatly. I'm a film maker and i don't even own a shot gun mic. I'm more of a clip on wireless mic kind of person.

With the time limitations we are put under and the randomness that can happen in the videos, it just makes more sense for us to use a shotgun mic. For weddings, sure it makes perfect sense. There is time and a budget to make sure things are all working happening correctly, in interviews like this, it's more of a turn on the camera, press record and hope for the best content we can get in a short period of time.
The video is fine and I can hear everything he is saying.....you actually get the full experience of what it’s like to be on a bus with all the background noise.

On Warped Tour, when bands had spare bunks available on their buses, they would rent them out to other people on the tour that needed just a bunk or two. Lots of clothing companies, charities, etc would rent bunks in this way because it was cheaper and less stressful compared to driving yourself from city to city.
