Finally uploaded my first camera facing video. Your style of content being so casual/conversational really inspired me to be able to do just that. Keep them coming Dylan!

Damn those strings right off the jump sounded reeeealllly good. Like movie score level richness. The strings on my Nautilus are pretty good, but it's hard to tame them sometimes and get a realistic depth.
This ended up sounding like Vangelis then the last drum part that came in around 17:40 made it like a modern Vangelis. Dope. The MPC Key 37 has been tempting as a way to make standalone BoC style or synthy ambient stuff, but the Push 3 is also very appealing.

Thanks man! Yeah I love the NI session strings, really rich sounding! Having the full power of my pc is nice for this sort of song making, but the MPC key is definitely a winner too

Has Ableton fixed many of your initial critiques of the Push 3 standalone since its launch? You made a video 8 months ago and said Akai force was better, so you still think it is better? For production and performance
    Thanks

I think the push is definitely better than it was at launch, I don't know that they've fixed all of my concerns, especially for on device song making and finalizing (but this is mitigated by transfer capability to desktop ableton).
I will say anecdotally I use the Push a lot more than I use the Force now. I also use the Push more in controller mode lately than standalone. The cost factor is still a huge divide. At this point I'd almost say just go for something like the MPC Key 37 with the plugin collection when its on sale, the push is better at being a standalone push than the force is, but the force is a much better value per dollar in a lot of ways.

@@DylanParisMusic Thank you! I managed to find a push standalone on reverb for 1,500, so I bought it… I am an ableton user so I wanted that integration. I appreciate your videos and thanks for responding!

Has the kontrol given you a lot of issues? I’ve heard not good things 😬

Honestly not at all, I had a prerelease unit for a minute and that was fine after the install process (was way more involved before the actual release to get it up and running). Got the new unit up and running easily, neither had issues gratefully. What have you been hearing?

@@DylanParisMusic That’s awesome! Well, as you probably know, the NI forums and the people who use them have been historically like apple fanboys. Nothing NI does/doesn’t do is ever wrong, ironically the complete opposite of akai users (that’s a whole other topic). A lot of people are not happy. Bugs, glitches, etc. Something about on launch day a feature didn’t work, and NI all went on vacation the week it launched so there was 0 support to fix it.

ooooof that is brutal dude!! I hope they fix any issues people are having, and I’m still holding out hope for maschine compatibility as well

@@DylanParisMusic Yea man. That kind of nailed in the coffin for me that they didn’t have compatibility with maschine. Wtf were they thinking? Before I had the plus, the mk3 and kontrol s was the most seamless workflow. I think I probably mentioned it many times - I started making music with NI/maschine over a decade ago, and I’m bitter watching what they’ve become.
