Oh my, what a beautiful emotional and exquisite masterpiece!!!! Music, art and dance. What more could fulfil life? These are the necessities that no one can survive without. Pure genius!!
OMG Love it! Je l'adore! What a special film to see the greatest talents inspiring each other! Manitas tan joven. Before I was even born. His style is so robust! And the tempo of that rumba! Mon dieu! And then Manitas dancing! Hasta un beso de Dalí . . Texte de Jean Cocteau en plus . . . . What a special film. ¡Qué maravilloso!
how art is (was ) created, this we see in this rare and beautiful video. there are two artist genious in the video, manitas del plata......the guitarist, flamenco and gipsy music legend from southern france and salvator dali, the fantastic surrealist painter .....together, oh how i feel remembered of the sixties when they traveled and were active in paris and i met them......( i met manitas del plata backstage in basel in a small club)
Je me souviens de ce spectacle. J'étais un jeune adolescent. J'en avais parlé à des connaissances, et l'un d'entre eux l'a retrouvé sur le net. Magnifique
A good word, surrealistic. Like a dream, or.......? I am not sure what I just saw happening. It is one of the most uncanny displays of .....? that I have ever seen.
Merci pour ce moment extraordinaire! Arte puro .
As a Myanmar(Burma) people ,I am in great pleasure to watch UN Secretary U Thant of Burma in relationtioship with Human Rights movement.Dali was a great artist.Although his works are not easy to appreciate them.
Tin Aung Dear friend, thank you for your comment. Indeed, it is indeed of U Thant, former Secretary General of the UN and was as you know very well Cambodian, a great man in your beautiful country . Manitas de Plata had been invited by him in his own office , and later did a concert with Jose Reyes Gypys the father of Kings . We were the first to mention this anecdote . We are very delighted that you have noticed in the video this great man from your country who was also a great secretary. Thank you very much my friend ...
Thanks.U Thant from Burma now Myanmar.A rare doctumentary.I will inform other Myanmar People about this video .Also please let me share your this comment on Face Book.
Dear friend, of course you can share this video on your FaceBook. You can even add that it still exists today at the UN, a permanence , with four people , representing gypsies (of all) around the world and since that visit of the maestro Manitas de Plata. Mr. U Thant created this permamence since that visit and that famous concert. I will look in my archive photos and send them to you . We keep an excellent impression of this great gentleman who was U Thant . Thank you to you dear friend ...
Wow. When I watch this it just reminds me how consumer oriented we are. Pay your Roman taxes and forget art. Art is the only thing that is worth a damn. You think anyone will remember the stock market on their death bed? Art, freedom and consciousness are probably the only things worth pursuing. I just vometed some thoughts just now. Excuse me.
***** "seguirias por tangos" more like an indian raga than a "song" the next " compas" is a rumba flamenca . , and then either a danza mora or another flamenco tango. by the way thiese guys are the previous generation of the gypsy kings , from the same family.
I disliked Dali (not his work, well, not all of it) from the moment I saw what kind of person he was, That and his biography convinced me of his elitism, his snobbism, his arrogance, and his attitude towards those that he considers inferior to him (almost everyone on the planet). He brags about how he and his wife Gala would often do down to the docks in Barcelona to amuse themselves by watching poor people going through the remaining scraps of fish and such on the wharfs and in trash boxes. He is an artist, to be sure, but he is not a painter, not as the word is understood by painters. He is an excellent craftsperson and illustrator. (and self-promoter). As for Manitas, he is the polar opposite of Dali and one of the greatest artists of all time.
pepe nero Yes you are right my friend. Thank you very much, very much for your comments and visiting the web site of the great Manitas de Plata...Thank you again,my friend, dear Pepe Nero...
pepe nero My dislike for him as a person also grew after reading a bit more on his personal life, but it was too late..By then I already had a tatoo of his melting clock on my wrist.:-) Anyway as long as there is no artist worshiping I think there is no problem. It's perfectly ok to say someone did some things well, and others not so much.
Manitas, Jose y Dali, incomparables!! Ole!
Magnifique chants gitans et d'un grand artiste Dali un grand artiste encore merci ou gracias. à celui qui a filmé la scène !!

If you turn off the sound, the guy in the Hitler mustache (singing) looks like Hitler himself giving a speech -- he's got the gestures down pat too.
Sublime Maesssstro!! Divíno Dalí... Gracias!!
