Some great clips especially of Court Line 111. I lived close to Luton Airport during their active years. My next-door neighbour was CL cabin staff. I flew with them twice to Malta on a 111. After the airline collapsed I could see their two Tristars parked in a remote part of the airport until they went to BA. Loved that airline with its trendy livery and Mary Quant uniforms. Also, the luxury carpet tiles they had in the reception at their head office Halcyon House on Airport Way some of which ended up underfoot in my hallway. I hope that's a cold case now.😀
Court Line may have had expensive carpets in their head office reception and painted their aircraft in nice pretty colours, but they were just about the lowest of the holiday charter airlines of the time, the Ryanair of the 60's and early 70's with their tight seat pitch and disgusting 'seat back' catering on the 1-11's.
One of the best films for jet airliner noise is Bullitt in the sequence filmed at SFO. Saw the swansong of the pistons and the heyday of the golden age of jets - the remaining Comets and Caravelles to the classic 747; modern air transport just aint got that fascination for me. Great to your videos, thanks!
MOHAWK ouch ! Was in the early sixties and the road to school was on the approach to Wisley aerodrome over flys a 1:11 with an Indian on the tail never to be seen again
I love old jet planes! They're almost sexy! Thanks for posting!
Love it . BUA VC10 and Court Line 1-11 in particular
Great collection of classic aircraft. Also quite a few airlines no longer flying
Amazing Sound Collection 👍👍👍
