I wonder what's causing this big trend in screechy high pitch sounds in techno now. I miss the experimental stuff from 2011-2016.
Not saying this is bad I just wonder why the sudden shift over the last few years

There is a strong hard style screech lobby...mafia... which forces djs to play this shit in every set haha...and things just getting worse...haha...thx god at least the "rave stabs techno" is over....haha....but now we have this fucking screech apocalypse

@technodust7833 true! There's a few drumcode tracks from 2011-14 that were really cool for being on a mainstream label and I kind of want that back.
I mostly just wait till rodhad, kwartz,Renee wise,Yan cook, dax j put something out or do a mix. Even dax to some extent has been doing that screeching stuff. I don't know if I understand it but something changed. We had the trance phase of techno from like 2017- now which is kind of ending and now it's this stuff

@@technodust7833 because everyone just wants harder and harder, thats the real reason why. Hard techno in 2023/24 is just early hardstyle/hardcore from the early 00's. Not gonna change anytime soon either I'm afraid.

It’s really because of all these TikToks tbh. I’m glad techno is finally making a scene but a lot of these underground DJs we once knew are just going for that screechy sound all their set (which I’m not a huge fan of). They should definitely incorporate some groove techno/ dub techno/industrial techno into their sets.
