Out of all the things that are going on (Trump's cabinet picks, how to get through the next few years as black people, etc) Biden pardoning his son is the least of Black people's worry. I hope you will use your laws expertise to keep us aware of what's going on politically.
Even though I wasn't mad at biden for pardoning his son, Themis is right about people's reactions and they are acting like trumpers. I can admit biden lied and I don't care that he lied so I refuse to make excuses for his lie.
When you first stated that Biden pardoned his son and the pardon went back 10 years, I immediately understood why he did it. Saying he blatantly lied is a reach IMO. I honestly believed that Biden wanted his son to sit tf down for many reasons! One being his sobriety, to keep a close eye on him and to show a moral high ground. So yes, I do believe he believed what he said AT THE TIME. However, DT has threatened that man's son on many occasions and is putting people in place to make sure he delivers on his promises. That changes things. So him changing his mind or lying in your words isn't a surprise or as salacious as you are making it seem. You seem to be highly attached to morality and fairness(I am too), however we do not live in a Utopia. So there will be times where things can't be that way and it doesn't make it blatantly wrong. You cannot nail everything you deem immoral to the cross. You feel embarrassed because you thought Biden was moral for what he did. However, you did not leave room for nuance at all. Now, he changed his mind and you feel embarrassed for taking a stance and being "wrong" about it. Themis you cannot be right ALL THE TIME. You conflated a lot of situations to justice your feelings. It is okay to feel let down... SIT IN IT. You thought that way for a reason and you weren't wrong then. There is nothing wrong with Biden choosing to protect his only living son. We as parents want to teach our children a lesson, but when we see a storm coming that could undue all the work that has been done, we step in. That's what Biden did. You kind of sounded like the people mad that Brittany Griner was released because there are other people that should have been freed before she was. Morality vs. right now. Had the U.S. not got BG out of there it could have caused mass chaos here. This is the gray area we live in. Morality does not always win. A lot of people were wrong for that crime bill and I do think Biden felt he did the right thing at the time. If he still feels that way then shame on him. However, I do not think that crime bill has anything to do with today, because was his son even on drugs then? How would he have known it would hit close to home? That's why I think he probably changed his stance on it. Do I think its hard for dems to hold other dems accountable. Yes. Let's take that same mirror and point it to how its hard for bm to hold each other accountable and its hard for bw to hold each other accountable. WE ALL have an issue with accountability. Anyway Themis, I think your are one of the most intelligent people I have ever met, but sometimes we are so smart we miss nuance. We fight the good fight for equality and it is very important. Let's learn to leave room in 2025 so we don't feel embarrassed for being "wrong" We don't dig deep enough, mainly due to lack of personal experience. Keep up the good work and thought provoking conversations.
I was in the live last night ... I was also listening to Charlamagne the god this morning. He proposed what Biden should do since he pardoned his son, which is pardon all non-violent drug convicted prisoners (the ones he put in jail because he wrote and passed multiple bills around drugs.) For those who are seeing this situation from one side and think he should not have pardoned his son, what do you think he should do NOW? Do you agree with CTg? And if so, how do you think that would work? Because Biden already did this, and now him and the democratic party have to come with solutions and actually do it if they want to win the next election.
I felt uncomfortable at times. Some people not wanting Biden’s lies to be addressed reminded me of the men coming on the panel and not wanting men’s crime and abuse to be addressed 🤔. Seems like cherry picking to me
1:25:08 thats not why kamala lost, i wont say you & people like you are part of the problem for reasons i wont go into… kamala lost simply because her campaign failed her…they failed to win over the hearts of the voters…if anything i would say there is a level of lack of self awareness on your part & your followers which no amount of education can remedy i do admire & respect your stance & consistency on your beliefs…if only politicians shared your moral compass maybe congress will actually get things done
Not really. Her campaign failed becuz people voted based on vibes. The vibes this election was "Democrat = inflation so republican good". Her being blk and a woman was also a factor but it was more vibes based Her campaign was easily better than trumps. Trump didn't really say anything and had viral moments that would've ended alot of other democrats but becuz he's trump he got away with it
My thing is people refuse to be consistent in their philosophies. Ok, fine the pardon is ok with you after he lied about it. Ok, understood. Now if Trumpet gets in that office and pardons … idk let’s say a famous “take that take that” artist, most of these same people would feel a way. “That’s not the same, that’s not his son” (I can hear y’all now lol). Yea not his son but a friend of his. A relationship, nonetheless. If you are ok with certain actions from one party then you need to maintain that same energy; otherwise there is a word for that.. hypocrisy.
If you make more than 2 points and the host hasn’t said anything. Please consider pausing your arguments to check in. The final caller was very passionate and perhaps should have their own channel.

I agree that morality is important, but we also must remember that morales are subjective! 2:05:45

Caller: I wouldn't leave my son out there for the slaughter
Themis: Why not?
😂 that made me chuckle
1:56:47 themis bout to convert to MAGA by the end of the year 😂
52:30-53:10 Themis, l love how you got your point across here! I couldn’t have said it better!
I have a huge problem with this too Themis, I’m finding it hard to understand why other people don’t. 🤷🏾♀️1:19:48
Great live Themis!❤

I wish people could understand that Donald Trump is the leader of the MAGA party, please make no mistake about that! 1:39:05

37:23 i agree with themis on this

Exactly. That’s why I don’t take democrats serious at all.
More like people don't want to talk about bw wearing weave while dealing with real violence in the community
I have to agree with the tariffs on behalf of the debt crisis. I want to call it the price of freedom. But the correlation is so low
34:30 he was going to pardon him regardless, biden is no better or worse than trump
Did Biden commit 34 fraud and is looking to take away our fundamental human rights? Those people are not the same.

Oh and also, great discussion, Themis. 🫶🏽
