Love those Sleipner proportional thrusters - and because they're not 100% on or off, as with old thrusters, they can be run for longer without worrying about over-heating. They're also quieter which is nice!
"I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing." I love that sweater!
I heard there’s a way to actually walk/crab a boat sideways, have you heard of that? Something about putting throttles a particular way and wheel opposite of which way u want to go, not sure? Great video!
Yes this is absolutely a thing. Even just with centered rudder, using the throttles forward or reverse in separate of each other, you can get the boat to slowly shift in the way you want. I liken it to driving a shopping cart - push left side forward while moving the right backwards, you can shift the cart quite easily...
@ By the way, this is the guy who lives in Madeira Beach FL who wanted to do deliveries for u or with u and never heard back? We just went thru the horrid hurricane that took out our entire first floor condos in a 300 unit marina complex, but thank God we were on 2nd floor but lost our car, so looking for some delivery work, last one was 3 months ago FL to San Diego, long trip but a great one! Please let me know if I can ever work with u or help out, also would be interested in hearing how u got your position with this company, I’d love to do the same for a different company!! Have a great day!
Had discussions with the factory team today to help answer your question. Partly it depends on the speed level of the thrust but suffice to say as along as you are not full max thrust, you have more than enough time to keep these engaged. Up to 15minutes in medium to lower settings. Honestly I don’t see the use of these thrusters in the max hold position being longer than a minute or more but again, if you’re in such significant winds, are you going out without a proper team of deckhands anyway?
Good question. The shore power set up at our dock is more conducive to a port side tie, so instead of having shore power extensions all over the dock, we stick with a port tie and having the flybridge helm port side, makes this no problem.

Very informative on how to dock a boat by yourself! Really like that coat you’re wearing!
Great to see this in action, thanks dude.
More videos often please. Thanks brother!!
Nice & tidy dock 😊
Impressive electronics and equipment on a 48. I've never really looked at Sirena, but will have to check them out.
They build a serious vessel there’s no doubt. Happy to chat about the brand any time. Love it
Nice job. I'd like to see a walkthrough of this yacht. From what I saw it looks fantastic.
Here ya go! This is such a great boat! Really been enjoying spending time on it

The upper helm looked so much nicer than the lower helm. Flush mounted and clean

Is there a limit to the minutes the thrusters can operate without overheating?

Why did you not use the starboard bow docking station?

Are the thrusters electric or hydraulic?
Electric
@@ElevateYacht oh wow. They seemed very quiet. I thought for sure, hydraulic. Thanks. Beautiful vessel.
Your in the Chi
Yes that’s the home base
