Lodging with other artists can be a little scary... since it's our first year of doing conventions and tabling in artist alleys, what better to do than try everything that's possible! this style of vlog, particularly when you and other vendors are speaking about the overall event, is very transparent! I overall liked how it was very casual yet professional to hear different perspectives about vending at these types of conventions c:

I loved the fact that you guys discussed together during day 1. Something so beautiful for you artists within the field discussing what’s going on with the current situation in your cons, what’s working and what’s not, it’s a nice sense of community and I can’t wait to feel that again amongst other artist friends. It’s something I strive for again
i've never done a con before because of the housing costs, so getting an Airbnb with other artists seems like such a good idea! kudos to whoever planned all the logistics. it was probably a hassle collecting all the money ;)
Yesss!! It’s definitely gotta be organized properly so shout-out to my friend Mei of NoFuss for getting the logistics down! We are all pretty prompt about getting her the money luckily 🫣
As a vendor, I completly agree this was a local con for me so I would do it againand yeah Sunday was a lot better for me as well! Loved meeting you and buying your stuff! I am planning on buying the prints and decorating my office with them lol!
Local cons are the best to test different things as vendors because of the low cost of lodging and travel for sure! I’m honored to have stuff in your office :0 🥹
I was at this con! It was my first ever con, and I had some expectations because I’ve seen previous experiences to other cons. I was not a vendor or anything but I throughly enjoyed the Artist Alley it was something I’ve always wanted to see in person. I will say Saturday did suck, I showed up around 1:30 and didn’t get in u til 2:15. I contemplated not showing up Sunday but Sunday was so much better. I think there definitely could have been more attendees and the would have definitely increased sales for artists. Regardless I loved all the artists they were all so unique and very talented. Great Job!!! hopefully I can see your booth at Ana other con!
This is amazing!!! It was definitely a decent experience for a first con, they did have a lot to offer as a convention in itself so I’m sure you got to have a blast despite the heat :o
Ok, so I was also a vendor here & I completely agree with everything that you all have said. IT WAS SO SLOW & it was MY FIRST TIME VENDING XD I thought it was because my art was doo doo or something. Also, I THOUGHT I saw you there during load in time since I watch your stuff but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to sound like a stalker or anything but I was going around artist alley buying from other booths cause I was bored but I NEVER SAW YOURS. I'm so sad !!

Phoenix CC charged $40 a day for game on expo, it was CRAZY. They also had issues with attendees trying to get in (also took 2 hours to get in!) so IMO, their security needs to get it together. Because same sentiment -- game on did a pretty good job with the con, but it was the convention center that had problems.
Went to Phoenix last month and it was too hot to do anything outside for too long (and I live in Vegas lol) Love your video editing though! Always fun to watch haha
One of the artists talked about the 'area code cons' at 11:25, and they're probably talking about 4H's cons. They run Riverwalk Anime, and this year they're branching out into a bunch of smaller cons in the midwest! I agree that there's a lot more interest in getting smaller local cons up and running in many parts of the country, but unfortunately that one's an example of an established company branching out instead.
It’s definitely a possibility for new artists to quickly distinguish which smaller cons are super brand new from unknown organizers vs a well established conglomerate, I see the sentiment there for sure. I’m glad to hear your insight on what Cen was talking about though, it opens up the discussion on the pros and cons doing smaller cons!
I live in Arizona and I was shocked to see this event was in Phoenix! I thought this was only in California! I think maybe the local weebs just aren't aware the event is in Phoenix yet?

I was on the outer row between vendors and AA and it was a ghost town even when AA behind me was filled! It was abysmal for me I am down 1k for hotel and flight I only made exactly table back
The joke about setting up in the parking garage, don't joke! A con here in Oregon a couple weeks ago put the artist alley in the parking area. It was filthy, dark and there were rats. They did the artists dirty.
