i wouldnt recommend using clips or snap swivels with mepps they seem to hook up on the blade on occasional casts which ruins your retrieve try tyin a mepp onto a 60cm piece of line attachted to a barrel swivel then tied onto your mainline does the biz for me
dont tie it directly to you line. Tie the line to some swiveling clip and then put the mepps on the clip. The back end of the clip will spin with the mepps but the end tied to the line wont.
Catching trout on this since I was 6 year old I'm 44 now. Mepps are great spinners. Black fury with red or orange dots are on in league of their own.
If all else fails, this is the lure I go to.
These Mepp's sound like Vietnam flashbacks. Must be wild for the fish.
my favorite. caught all kinds of fish with this lure.
I bought one today, will try it for trout.
If I were a fish that would definitely piss me off enough to take a big ol smack at it.

Use a snap swivel between your main line and the spinner.Not only will it eliminate line twist it will also allow the spinner to fish much better.
