Thanks for the review. You might have mentioned how easy the movement is to regulate. (With screw) This is a big plus over many other popular movements.

How can you regulate the movement to make it more accurate?

I agree! A great watch! It's easy not to take them seriously, because they are cheap and owned by Invicta. But if you really look at what you get, they're an amazing value. They come in so many variations that you could easily have several different colorways and they are one of those watches that people sell and then re-buy when they realize how great they are. Mine has the ETA and you'd have a hard time finding another watch with that movement for anywhere near $300. If you're used to Seikos the lume might not be too impressive, but it's better than . . . . Say, a Hamilton or maybe even Tissot!? I would say it's almost too good to be "a beater".
Do yourself a favor, run down to Costco and get one! 😁

Exactly. Their still manufactured in biel Switzerland in tge same factories. My certified watchmaker saw their workshop last yr. It's like telling people about swatch owning omega longines etc all they do is back them up money wise.

I picked up the last one at costco. $249. Its slim case has changed my thoughts on how diver's should be. Put it on 2 piece rubber and it goes under cuff with ease.
It did need regulation, which is very easy with screw adjustment.

I picked up this watch a couple years ago (ETA version and silver applied logo on dial) and love it, I hate the nato though. It performs better than my khaki field or prospex. The antireflective coating on the underside of the crystal is beautiful in the sunlight. It doesn't pretend to be a rolex which is also great, not a homage. Feels like my most expensive watch which is absolutely isn't. Solid buy if you are on the fence

Excellent value, I agree. I have two oversized combat subs in 46mm diameter and love them. I was lucky, mine are both +3 secs a day. I also highly recommend the Tissot Seastar for value.

Glycine is highly underrated. Not luxury....BUT....Excellent value, quality Swiss Made watches. Great history since 1914. The combat sub wears extremely comfortable on the wrist, it hugs the wrist similar to the Oris Aquis. A manly military designed no non-sense tool diver, time legibility on the dial is 100% optimal at every angle. Wears very thin to slide under the cuff of any shirt and accuracy is great, in my experience. It does wear true to size at 42mm, bezel clicks and alignment is perfect...better than watches that cost over 1K. Btw, Glycine makes excellent leather straps too.

yes, they are great watches for that price, it's a shame that invicta manipulates their prices like that, because the quality of them is ok in relation to the price. but completely agree glycine combat sub is best swiss made for the price. I agree, I have two (that one and the all black stealth version) and they’re fantastic.
My only real gripe is that the bracelets are around $150. They’re nice but not worth 50% of the watch price. If you want one you’re better off just buying a quartz version for $30 more than the bracelet alone, then you have a nice beater to put on the nato.

These Combat subs look a bit like the old Breitling Superocean. I wish it has atleast 12mm thickness because it looks flimsy for how wide it is and the fact its a diver I like having a chunkier feel for a robust tool watch, that's just me, but hey you can't beat its $300 price tag.

So my glycine… GL0416, great crown, pretty good bezel, would prefer 120 click. Good bracelet, a little too wide for me, my main gripe is the clasp. Step it up glycine. If 25 dollar Chinese company’s can figure out a nice secure milled push button clasp so can they. I just hate the 1990s flip open tin-can piece of metal on the bracelet. Oh and crown is one of the most robust feeling crowns in my collection. Feels like a tank.

Great review. I bought the exact same watch about six months ago. Couldn't stand the strap it comes on as I found it uncomfortable. Bought a mildness from Invicta for 50% off. Punches far above its weight for the price.
Only problem is it stops sometimes when on my bedside table at night which shouldn't be happening. I'm not sure if Sellita movement is meant to be wound or not.

@@andywilliams4887 I have a 4 or 5 year old bronze Glycine Combat 6 sitting in a watch winder. I haven't worn it since Christmas and it's two minutes fast after 60 days. No complaints about accuracy, except it's a bit too big for me at 43mm. so it doesn't get much wrist time.
I'd get another Glycine but the one I really want is still a bit too pricey. I'll wait a year or two and try to snap one up when they hit the grey market.

At these prices they are basically throw away watches. I have mine(the 83) for 5 years from Drop. From the start the winding was gritty. It failed after just 2 years of light wear. I had it repaired which cost me 200 Euro's. Next time it ends op in the bin although it runs fine nowadays. The strap is horrible but I replaced it with a Blu Shark seatbelt nato.
