One of Harley Quinn’s strengths is she allows people to underestimate her. And she’s way smarter than everyone gives her credit for. She uses the ditzy blonde thing to her advantage which allows her to have several wins and accomplishments
I think her cleverness was one of the reasons Joker could pull her towards him. Intelligent and clever ppl can be really lonely and with a fam like hers its easy to manipulate her in that way. I think after she was done with Joker and in the Harley Comics she just supressed her better cognitive functions so she wouldnt have to feel anything. To draw ppls attwntion to her Mask/fakePersona but never seeing her real self.

For those saying it seemed like Harley had the physical advantage, just look at how they react to each other's attacks. Harley clearly takes a lot longer to recover from more of Nightwing's blows, and most of the heavier hits she manages to dish out are from her using environmental weapons.
Yeah that’s physics, she’s also rusty for at least 3 months. She’s not constantly “training”. She’s still got it but that was always her thing. She had tools to compensate and exceded because she’s smaller than most of her opponents.

I've never watched this movie, but I REALLY like this scene. You can just FEEL every single hit. Between the sound design, the VFX, and the reactions of the characters, every blow feels like it packs a punch.
Really? All i thought the entire time is that apparantly no blow whatsoever has any force behind it and nothing in that alley has any weight to it. Afterall several of those blows should at the very least dizzy either one of them and some blows, especially the one where harley pulls down the ladder on nightwing with her entire weight behind it should at the very least break bones if not outright kill the other one.
Yes yes yes, they are incredibly well trained but neither one of those two characters has any actual superpowers. And there IS a limit to how much trauma a human body no matter how well trained is able to withstand.

@@tranquilthoughts7233 the blows DEFINITELY have weight to it, the objects to. I think what you mean is that here is a lack of realistic reactions coming from the characters like being dizzy after a hit? That's a different thing
But the hits they give and take can definitely be felt and there's definitely weight to it.
Nightwing is most definitely a better fighter than Harley, but Harley has one distinct advantage over him. He underestimates her. Neither Batman nor Nightwing ever take her seriously and it has caused them to be taken offguard by her several times. Harley is actually pretty clever and dangerous. If Nightwing had taken her seriously, he should have been able to win much more easily and without getting caught offguard.
See, I see your point,but that's just crap writing then. If something takes you by surprise because you underestimate it, you learn not to underestimate it. Neither of them should be letting their guard down around her if she has surprised them before, they have nothing to prove by acting like she doesn't pose a threat.

Batman TAS Harley was given superhuman serum by poison ivy. So it was like Nightwing fighting a low grade Captain America.
I don't see why people are complaining about this fight. She used a lot of agility and dirty tricks to get a few good hits in then poisoned him. Seems realistic. It's not like she physically overpowered him.
Not to mention he underestimated her and was overly confident.
Doesn't matter, Nightwing is on a completely other level. The fight was shit down to the core. Underestimating someone only puts you at a disadvantage for a single good hit, you put your guard down and then one shot you. He definitely wasn't underestimating her, or at least if not for dumbass writing, after getting punched, kicked, and had heavy objects successfully thrown at him.

I'd rather have consistency and logical power scaling, that make the DC world feel more logical. Batman should be a street level vigilante, and characters like Superman should handle the really powerful beings. I remember being completely annoyed how in Injustice 2 Batman can just smackdown Wonder Woman and Brainiac.

On what planet would Harley Quinn have a better chance of beating Batman? She's quick sure, but she's not nearly strong enough to hurt him through the armor and he's way better trained and experienced. This fight was Nightwing's arrogance at best, crap writing at worst.

Well for an outsider, she's just a young little pretty woman and here, she lives in the slums of a city with a pretty high criminality rate, if she was careless, she wouldn't be alive to begin with ;). Sure, it's not that easy to take down a crazy strong woman, willing to hurt badly and even kill if needed anyone who would stand in her way, with olympic-level gymnastic skills, and smart enough to have achieved a doctorate in psychatry with notoriously pretty good grades at that, but she's just a human being, in the end ; she couldn't really walk these streets at night, casually whistling, hands in her pockets, as if she was at a picnic with her little nephews ;).

Guys chill out, Nightwing is my favorite DC hero, and even I can see this losing this fight for being arrogant. First off, he wasn't trying to knock her out, he needed to question her, second, Harley is actually a pretty competent fighter, thirdly, she has that unpredictability factor that crazy fighter's in both the Marvel and DC universe have, think Deadpool unpredictability but with a more crazy acrobatic chick, and lastly, the Joker venom is no..."joke"...although Grayson should always be packing an antidote when dealing with Joker or Harley.
the antivenom was standard issue in the tools belts during the Joker fights but Harley isnt Joker, and i am not 100% about the timeline here but it is implied that J is out of the picture in more than one way.
So perhaps that made them put the Antivenom aside for other gizmos, it's not like they have a Bag of Holding in the belt xD
Which makes it all the more sinister in a way.. NW is feeling like he's won the fight and then suddenly he starts laughing and laughing.. Harley is a smart fighter who does what she needs to in order to win, and a little keepsake like a needlering from the Jokers old toolkit is something i can really see her using.

Harley was never FORMALLY trained in combat. How is she able to keep up with confirmed martial artists? Despite Olympian-level acrobatic skills, she'd still need some explaining to do considering Grayson is just as good, if not better at acrobatics.
I'm guessing (outside of narrative contrivances) he was going easy on her. Realistically, a guy in as good a shape as Dick Grayson would've ended the fight as soon as he caught her in the solar plexus and followed up with the hit over the back. Since he was pulling his punches there and didn't follow through, it's safe to say he was underestimating her or holding back to avoid hurting her.
Jack Russett yea otherwise harley would have no chance, dick is a nice guy afterall if he didnt hold back hed probably kill her in 2 or 3 hits. (Hes 200 pounds and lifts 350 to 500, thats alot just saying)
Harley also has enhanced strength and reflexes.

Something I always enjoyed with Bruce Timms TAS art style was how well conveyed succumbing to joker toxin was. The body language, the the lines in the face, and the moment the victim realizes they cannot stop laughing. Especially with masked characters, it would be so easy to go off model to deliver a haunting overdrawn rictus but good effort is made to make it minimalist as possible.

Frank Daniel Harley's strength is at peak human limitations thanks to poison Ivy's brew. Her strength tends to catch people off guard due to her appearance not looking the part. I believe it's comparable to a male mans peak strength. It's usually why in comics her strength is labeled as "abnormal" since she shouldn't be able to do that. Plus her natural agility and reflexes had been seriously enhanced. The new 52/rebirth hasn't really explained this yet ...just the immunity to toxins, gymnastics, and genius level intellect. I'm sure they are also going going by her previous incarnation ...so she probably still retains her abnormal strength level.

I feel like the more versions of Harley we get, the stronger she gets. Now this is true for many charecters that get so many different versions of them, so that way writers can keep it interesting and new, but she is still crazy strong. The oldest version of Harley would have never been able to do this, heck old Harley almost always resorted to relying on smarts to take on people. Nowadays Harley, being pretty much without super powers, can take on most any foe. We see her compete easily with some of the strongest DC superheroes and villains. Love her!

@@ThatGuyChoco Yeah, but Harley is also a metahuman. On top of that, Nightwing technically won. The only reason he got brought down is that he was poisoned by Joker Venom. That shit is no joke; pun intended.
@@Pinxy_P The fact of the matter is Harley was getting on critical hits the entire fight, even with her enhancements she should stand no chance against Nightwing, also not once during the fight did we see her use the venom on him, also his suit should be stab proof.
@@ThatGuyChoco Rings can be flipped around; she easily could have stabbed him with a punch. She used the environment for most of the fight, but Nightwing did not. At one point we see Harley punch his face, which is not protected by the suit. Pay attention, and you'll notice that Nightwing takes less time to recover from attacks than Harley does.

This fight should not have lasted as long as it did, Harley was consistently giving him a hard time and landing critical hits, and was on par with his acrobatic calibre.
I loved that they went back in did this art style it was the shit back when I was younger and still beats the new dc animation Imo

I gotta say that for Harley Quinn to be wielding a 10 pound kettle bell inside her purse With such skill and ease and even leaving a huge dent in the concrete when she slammed it kind of shows that while not superhuman she’s definitely much stronger and more Adept at combat then she looks.
Totally believable. Nightwing only has about 15 years fighting experience and has encountered Harley a few dozen times. No way he could ever predict how good she is at acrobatic fighting or that she would fight dirty or have some trick up her sleeve to defend herself.
The way that Harley Quinn has a hidden needle pin seeped with Joker Venom, shows that Quinn is a step ahead.
First of all he was toying with her the entire fight because hes NOT trying to take her to jail hes trying to push her back into the game. How are you watching a batman show and NOT thinking about the end game? The entire fight is a way to get her closer towards harlequinn instead of harleen. Furthermore Harlequinn is canonically about as smart as batman when she actually gets to think clearly without Joker distracting/abusing her. Unlike the Joker whos plans almost always fall through on several occasions Harley has caught batman and WOULD have beaten him if Joker hadnt stopped her. Nightwing tends to be arrogant and underestimate his opponents. But he was not going full out because he didnt want to hurt her he wants her cooperation.

Well that's because he was too busy being an asshole to Harley and thinking that he's better than her, that's one of the reasons why I despise him, he behaved the same way with Batgirl.
Should be remainded that out of all Gotham villains Harley was actually the closes to defeat Batman.
