  • A whistleblower has expressed concerns about production flaws present with the Boeing 777 and 787 in the latest string or problems impacting the American plane maker. The new allegations have sent the manufacturer once more tumbling down a spiral of never-ending difficulties, with the FAA set to investigate the comments to see if there's any weight behind them.

Boeing is reaping what it has sown. Trust has to be earned by actions rather than a few vague and Weasley worded statements designed to keep share prices up without costing Boeing money. The production slow down and extra inspections were forced through by media pressure. the FAA and NTSB - not Boeing. The shuffling of job titles of some senior board members, with obscenely large payoffs for rewarding those looking the other way and not doing anything despite 350 deaths, is blood money. No aerospace engineer talent was added to the board really showing a lack of commitment towards safety and less on profit.

Boeing has been consistently cutting assembly standards and inspections in favor of production and profit. Even worse, they bought their stock to enrich the BOD rather than spend those millions on engineering and quality. Boeing has lied continuously every single time another safety problem or accident occurred. There is nothing wrong with the good employees of Boeing. The fault lies in two areas, the disgusting psychopathic greed of the Board Of Directors and the rubber stamp FAA ignoring its own regulations. In addition to the two deadly accidents and air plug incident the longer term production problems and constant pressure from middle management are just now showing up and are only going to get worse as these troubled aircraft age. The potential for in flight breakups are real. It’s not just the aircraft division. All of Boeing is screwing up. Schedules and failures have and are occurring in Space and Military. Meanwhile, the BOD is leaving the sinking Boeing ship with $50,000,000.oo bonuses and for what? For destroying a once fine company in favor of their personal greed. They got rich as passengers and crew died! In my opinion they should be on trial for involuntary manslaughter. And just for one final kick in the pants, incredibly Boeing has doubled down on engineering incompetence and appointed another finance office to CEO, the very type of bean counter and mental set responsible for Boeing’s multiple failures.

It will become harder and harder to know the truth. Boeing is facing scrutiny over lots of problems, so anyone with a grudge or a bone to pick can start saying things that may not be true, just to jump on the bandwagon. A disgruntled employee can take this opportunity to make allegations because they will sound more believable.
Just because someone says something doesn't mean it's automatically 100% true. Investigations are needed.
Meanwhile, as this happens, they need to move back to Seattle, and get rid of the bean counters and put engineers back in charge of the company.

Even if these comments by the whistleblower are inaccurate, does Boeing really deserve the benefit of the doubt? A lot of people comment on Airbus having similar issues, and that might be true, but I would never know because in the last decade, an A320neo system issue hasn’t resulted in 350 or so people losing their lives. I also haven’t seen an A321neo suffer a door plug blowout due to faulty design.
Maybe there have been issues at Airbus like this which have escaped media attention… but again, does Boeing really deserve the benefit of doubt after all the pain and suffering they caused, let alone all the airlines they’ve screwed over by being unable to deliver aircraft? First: The design of the door plug isn't faulty at all. It's been around since the 707 and never had issues.
It's that Boeing's unfixable unsafety culture affects the factory floor that badly since the merger.
Second: Only Boeing has a history of having committed a criminal conspiracy, no one else relevant in the aviation industry has.
Everyone trying to compare this with any other aviation business is nothing than trying to justify Boeing's crimes.

This complaint is either valid or it’s “sour grapes”.
On the 727 line If there were gaps due to parts not perfectly fitting, Engineering would come in to create shims to safely fill the gaps.
I’m sure that if the rings that hold the fuselage sections together are fine (as long as the shop staff called Engineering for a fix). With or without a filler part, the rings should have fit together smoothly. If there was a gap, a filler part would need to be designed and installed. I’m sure this happened.
As long as the parts did not have to be forced together when fastened all should be well. If they were forced together causing torquing or bending (which creates a Preloading of mechanical stress) that would be a potential problem.

At this point when you see the media blaming Boeing for a cowling detachment off an 8 year old “Boeing” 737 which is obviously a ground crew maintenance issue as well as a tire coming off a 737 on take off again ground maintenance, one suspects that incompetence and poor training at airports can now be easily blamed on Boeing the so called whipping boy and the public believes these false accusations. These erroneous accusations now make any further statements from whistleblowers suspect and if these accusations are proven false the damage is done regardless in the public opinion. Since the majority of planes flown in the US are manufactured by Boeing many 737, any incident including a bird strike a loose plastic window surround or a broken overhead bin is reported by the media as “ another Boeing issue”. This Boeing bashing is damaging and appears to be a vendetta against the plane manufacturer and must stop. I am not implying that Boeing should not be held accountable for flagrant breaches in quality manufacturing but I’m against the media attempting to sensationalize any incident as a Boeing shortcoming even when it’s totally unrelated .

It is very clear that Boeing has serious problems with quality of its products. Things keep cropping up. Sounds relevant to me. In another area, Boeing and Space-X received contracts, at roughly the same time, to build a spacecraft, to take astronauts to the ISS. Space-X has been doing so for years now; Boeing's manned spacecraft has yet to launch. Care to explain?
