The reason characters shout out their moves is because in Manga it takes a lot to show exactly what is happening every time, so the first time you show the full attack and say what it is, then from then on you can say the name and have a single action shot from it, and people can fill in the blanks of what it looks like in their mind. Then when Shonen anime started, they didn’t remove it from the anime since the names were iconic from the manga, so we have that now.
@@litewrk8655I saw it in an article specifically about it, but I can’t remember if it actually quoted a mangaka or someone in the anime industry. It’s been a while since I first saw it, but it’s stuck with me since it makes sense.
that’s pretty much it. it’s also why the trope of characters explaining their abilities became so prevalent. as an aspiring mangaka myself, trying to convey abstract powers through motionless art is difficult without some kind of context.
This podcast was my intro to Danny like a year ago, and Nick was right. He’s one of the funniest people on earth, and a savage. This podcast is for sure a bright point in my week
13:27 I think that speaks to his confidence in his relationship. When you know you don’t have to worry, you don’t really care if people try. It’s mostly funny.
Can we fix the problem where Nick's camera focuses on the box they run all the cables through as a present for 1 year of this podcast? Other than that, happy one year!
Never thought I'd hear talks about drinking and cocaine LOL amazing; time to do a few lines (in game ofc) and finish this podcast! Anyhow great content as always guys. I kinda wish during the drinking game, that I knew what the truths/lies were after the guesses were wrong lol. Only got these for some of them but great time anyhow!
13 minutes in and I know this is gonna be an episode for the history books. Also the Danny story with the dude at the club is by far one of the funniest things either of these 2 have done
I wish characters using broken or chipped weapons becomes more frequent, thats what made Meliodas interesting to me at the beginning, like the this dude is so powerful that having a regular sword would be cheating.
Been here for every episode every week, I was grateful y’all made this. Enjoy the long episodes, I have long drives to work/school so the longer the better. Best of luck for another year!!
This podcast has been my favorite thing to watch each week, thank you for all the laughs and here’s to another year. Also my favorite joke so far has been that time Danny was making a joke about people who think the big 3 was a subjective thing and he said if you disagree with my big 3 you can suck on these (his balls). Nick then says you can suck on my big 2, Dan was like your running circles around me today Nick and then says “Your fucking me Nick, YOUR FUCKING ME” while Nick falls into hysterical laughter.
Also, Wolves have been known to kill Bears. They don't just go after the weakest. Thats just usually the most efficient strat, but if it comes down to hit Wolves will throw with most things.
Tbf, ichigo’s alway’s been a scrapper. That time he called 5 ambulances for those dudes who messed with chad really showed how he’s kinda always been a different breed, which eventually is explained by his heritage
So the thing about Ed in FMAB, I think he cares more about getting Al's body back than he cares about getting his own limbs back. I think he humors Al by saying "Lets get OUR bodies back", but really, if it turned out that he could never get his arm back, he couldn't care less.
One of y’all should have taken “Sarah likes muscles” in the draft. “You don’t like muscles!!” “When have I ever said that” “EVERY TIME I TAKE MY CLOTHES OFF”
i just wanna say... regarding the legendary trios in all gens.. the one in gen 3 is the titans/regis, REGICE, REGIROCK, and REGISTEEL... i think Danny has a point about the legendary trios in all gens but i really like the birds, goofy designs and all
We need to have Danny watch some nature documentaries. Wolves can take out bears. Deer antlers can pierce straight through you, deer hoofs could cave in your chest.
Nobara is a cool character but the thing is she doesn't have a clear goal like yuji and fushiguro. But that is more because she is like a character who already completed her arch and is more guiding her classmates. Like she did with juyi teaching him when not to care with her whole bus metaphore. Even though the assistents and gojo should be the adults of the group but since they don't come with in to battle very often. None of them are the real leaders calling the shots because they trust in eachother and strategise togheter. But I see her as the leader.
I have never resonated as much with someone as much as i have resonated with Nick during Danny's animals are bitches rant. My in progress bio degree is making me almost start screaming at my computer. God i love this show.
Funny think Danny is right in one of the dubs after duelist kingdom. When yami took over yugi body twice in the series he complimented the drip. So Danny not wrong 😂 Yami also hits on tea in the manga 😂😂😂
Congrats on a year boiz! Btw I love solo leveling and mashle, however, I would also suggest you guys watch Sasaki and Peeps. It is peak fiction writing so far!
53:16 Winry and May are great characters! I agree they’re not the best, but they’re still pretty great characters. May was our introduction into alkehestry (excuse my awful spelling) she also helped out a ton in the first fight against father. And without May Alphonse would have been able to save Ed. May also is interesting as a character where she has a similar story to ling. She’s trying to find the secret to immortality to save her clan. Winry is a good character because she is the catalyst to scars arc. She is the core to Ed’s arc. She helps her parents murderer because she knows that’s the only way to save everyone. But still doesn’t forgive him. Which I think is an amazing moment in the anime. Winry is essential to the plot as is May. Sure they aren’t the best but they are still so important to the story. TLDR: Winry and May are amazing and important characters.
Danny is a flyweight without even trying he could easily cut to 115 and make strawweight. However he would get curb stomped by Zhang Weili. I have never heard a human overestimate their ability to fight like this since that gym guy who thinks being 260 makes him invincible lol.
i love that N came in to D on the floor and the camera knocked over like.. bro 🤣 let me also defend Lu Guang hahaha THEY ALWAYS GET MAD AT LU FOR NOT GETTING CHENG OUT OF THE EARTHQUAKE BUT HE CANT PULL CHENG OUT OF THE PHOTO, ONLY CHENG CAN Lu always tries to protect Cheng, he doesnt tell him about the murder, tries to not get involved in the police investigation, because he KNOWS that Cheng will blame himself and then try to fix it even if it gets him killed Honestly it would be a stronger argument to hate on Cheng Xiaoshi for not being able to separate his own emotions from wtf he is supposed to be doing
Yugioh Hot Take: Waking the Dragons aka The Orichalcos arc, is the best Arc in the Yugioh franchise and its a filler arc. Also its the best filler arc in ALL OF ANIME. 3rd Yami Yugi is a fucking war criminal
Danny asking his girl if she wants to dance with another dude is insane 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Be honest not surprising
The reason characters shout out their moves is because in Manga it takes a lot to show exactly what is happening every time, so the first time you show the full attack and say what it is, then from then on you can say the name and have a single action shot from it, and people can fill in the blanks of what it looks like in their mind. Then when Shonen anime started, they didn’t remove it from the anime since the names were iconic from the manga, so we have that now.
I can believe that.
I don’t know how true this is, but it makes enough sense for me to take it as a fact 😂
@@litewrk8655I saw it in an article specifically about it, but I can’t remember if it actually quoted a mangaka or someone in the anime industry. It’s been a while since I first saw it, but it’s stuck with me since it makes sense.
Makes sense. Thanks for the fact
that’s pretty much it. it’s also why the trope of characters explaining their abilities became so prevalent. as an aspiring mangaka myself, trying to convey abstract powers through motionless art is difficult without some kind of context.
Dannys confidence in his fighting skill is truly baffling and hilarious. I love the podcast, never change 😂
Nick: “I’m not an alcoholic”
Also Nick: *gets every question right but then “mental blenders” himself into drinking anyway*
Shabbat Shalom everyone
“That camera falling is preposterous and not an appropriate consequence to me falling” got me so hard lol
This podcast was my intro to Danny like a year ago, and Nick was right. He’s one of the funniest people on earth, and a savage. This podcast is for sure a bright point in my week
Wholeheartedly agree with you.
Likewise
The way this episode was an absolute train wreck on drunken goofiness killed me 😂
Every 52 episodes is actually perfect for "Otaku New Year"
13:27 I think that speaks to his confidence in his relationship. When you know you don’t have to worry, you don’t really care if people try. It’s mostly funny.
Drunk pod is the best thing to ever happen, we need these for holidays
All Holidays!!!
God bless Stank for the triple take on the fall❤
Stank is amazing
The honey sticks bit not being in the bits draft is insane
I’m not even 30 minutes in, and this is already my favorite episode. Thanks for doing this, I’m obsessed
Drunk pod! Drunk pod! Drunk pod! 🍻
“I swear I’m gonna lunge” is the best thing I’ve ever heard 😂
It hasn’t felt like it’s been a year already. Been watching y’all since, and it’s been my fav podcast since. 🤝🏼🔥
Can we fix the problem where Nick's camera focuses on the box they run all the cables through as a present for 1 year of this podcast? Other than that, happy one year!
Definitely feels like drunk pod needs to be a monthly deal.
Oh this is what I needed today. Thank you, gentlemen for blessing my day
By far the best opening yet😂😂Danny is a beaut😂😂
2 hour episode?? Yes please!
I don’t think I could pick a favorite ep of the podcast, but this episode was so good had me dying the full way thru. Congrats on a year!!❤️
I’ve binged all of Otakus anon until now and its been the best time ❤❤
Danny falling is a highlight of the new year when are we gonna get podcast highlights
Never thought I'd hear talks about drinking and cocaine LOL amazing; time to do a few lines (in game ofc) and finish this podcast! Anyhow great content as always guys. "Ethiopia is in the 70s right now" it is 2016 in the Ethiopian calendar
Okay so I shot a littttlllleeee wide
@@NCHammer23 danny got drunk just reading the word "shot" in your comment
Porgs are actually really popular with little kids and have sold a ton of merchandise
I wish characters using broken or chipped weapons becomes more frequent, thats what made Meliodas interesting to me at the beginning, like the this dude is so powerful that having a regular sword would be cheating.

Much better than the normal pod, and I enjoy the normal pod
Yappy 52nd episode gentleman!! You both do a great job 👍
*Happy
I always assumed anime shout out attacks cause they generally come from mangas and that makes it a little easier to tell what's going on.
Trash taste would never be trashed for an episode
Did you mean thrashed
As a fellow soju enjoyer, I love grapefruit and grape flavors
Also, Wolves have been known to kill Bears. They don't just go after the weakest. Thats just usually the most efficient strat, but if it comes down to hit Wolves will throw with most things.
By far my favorite part is when Nick retorts that lions eat "fucking cantaloupes".
Danny saying he could fight a deer is just funny
Love Nick immediately jumping on the Gloopy Dooperson train
I haven’t watched the full episode yet but Danny eating shit is hilarious!!!
Brooooooo id love to drink with the boys but at least I get to vibe to them while I'm working
Drunk pods should be a monthly thing 😂
Tbf, ichigo’s alway’s been a scrapper. That time he called 5 ambulances for those dudes who messed with chad really showed how he’s kinda always been a different breed, which eventually is explained by his heritage
“I mean I’m not Jewish “ has me in tears😂😂😭😭😭😭
Danny pull up the lyrics for the op/ed for Link Click with the animation. It’s a whole story in itself which is crazy
“Kaguya” “i was going to call her Kooji Gooji” 😂
These two are hilarious. Nick is hilarious intoxicated.
Drunk pod is hilarious, you boys are killing it

I heard some snaps crackles and pops when danny fell
"Your dog just vibrated!" 😂😂😂😂😂
Congrats on one year guys, and cheer's to the next
Nick I drink, socially, then proceeds to talk about binge drinking. Danny, “this isn’t going away you think.”
We need to have Danny watch some nature documentaries. Wolves can take out bears. Deer antlers can pierce straight through you, deer hoofs could cave in your chest.
Best start to a video ive ver seen XDD

Hasanabi is a anime guy, should def have him on!
100% that would be amazing!!!
That would truly be a crossover of all time
I have never resonated as much with someone as much as i have resonated with Nick during Danny's animals are bitches rant. My in progress bio degree is making me almost start screaming at my computer.

So we need to officially have one episode a month of you guys getting drunk on different alcohols beers and wines
Congrats on a year boiz! Btw I love solo leveling and mashle, however, I would also suggest you guys watch Sasaki and Peeps. It is peak fiction writing so far!
I gotta get drunk & come back to rewatch this 😂 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GUYS!!!!!!
Nick’s Imagine Dragons joke should’ve been a top pick
About the broken sword thing . There is meliodas from seven deadly sins
I still remember ep 1

WE NEED MORE OF THIS IM DRUNK RN SO I SEE ALL YOUR POINTS LMFAOOOO
Idk how on earth you guys are so entertaining love you guys love all your anime takes if I had the money I would be a member on all your channels
Yall being buzzed is something I will cherish 😂😂😂😂
i'm normally an audio listener DOES PODKNIFE JUST SIT THERE? that's So Much
Not “ can he get some of that”😭😭😭😭💀
1:29:48 I’ve spent way too much time thinking how many animals I can fight at 6’7” 270 & Danny thinks he can take more than I could with a sword 🤣
He said backed up in fear from the wolf in twilight. How can he still think he can beat a wolf.
i keep forgetting Nick has a whole ass biochem degree
Been listening since episode 2 came from Danny’s channel been watching Danny since covid I think? Idk time is kind of iffy
My time in South Korea was a blur thanks to Soju. That stuff is no joke.
Danny is a flyweight without even trying he could easily cut to 115 and make strawweight. However he would get curb stomped by Zhang Weili. I have never heard a human overestimate their ability to fight like this since that gym guy who thinks being 260 makes him invincible lol.
Drinking with both buddies haha and drinking our fun for no reason haha!!
Man most of the time I listen to these at work, fuck me am I gonna have to watch this one
Drunk danny is so unhinged its hilarious
I believe that Mazinger Z was the first show to have shouting out attacks.
pretty happy with ya'll for picking up bocchi
I dont what weight class Rhonda was but I’m pretty sure Valentina Shevchenko is 125 & Danny couldn’t take her on, so 3-5 wolfs is crazy😂
Next time they are both at a con together someone should ask if they could get some of that to Danny about Nic
I'm whatever the opposite of surprised is that danny is a lightweight
1:09:16 the fall
1:15:25 isn't the Statue of Liberty French made?
i love that N came in to D on the floor and the camera knocked over
like.. bro 🤣
let me also defend Lu Guang hahaha THEY ALWAYS GET MAD AT LU FOR NOT GETTING CHENG OUT OF THE EARTHQUAKE BUT HE CANT PULL CHENG OUT OF THE PHOTO, ONLY CHENG CAN

whoa whoa back up two dozen scrapes? I'm gonna need that elaborated on because I know criminals that ain't been in that many fights.
Yugioh Hot Take: Waking the Dragons aka The Orichalcos arc, is the best Arc in the Yugioh franchise and its a filler arc. Also its the best filler arc in ALL OF ANIME.
3rd Yami Yugi is a fucking war criminal
46:44 soild kaiba impression
By far, Nick is visibly more drunk than Danny
1:43:45 Danny is just talking about Meliodus
another great episode of the podcast! 😂
Oh man Nick would be shocked to hear I’m 6’ and 125
I think It was Richard Pryor who said that
