      If you start with a "good" footprint, one where the three dimensions get along with each other mathematically to minimize the modal impact, you still need treatment. However, with a proper footprint, the treatment will work better to produce a higher overall room resolution.

    My front wall is insulated/drywall with a 10 ft room behind the front wall before hitting cement foundation. Doesn’t bass just pass through my front wall into adjoining space? Does it come back through the front wall after hitting the foundation wall?

      Three processes are going on at the same time. Energy will pass through, be absorbed, or reflected back. Frequencies below 50 hz. go right through concrete.
