Yet, so many promote Hells Revenge as the ultimate tester. It is a tourist attraction. lol How can it be harder than the Rubicon Trail, when they got rentals going out all day long with group tours and all that jazz? lol I think it is time for Nissan to get back in the game and make a new 4x4 and call it "Hells Revenge". ;)
@@alchabeta3237 the wrangler is so expensive because the G class starts at $125,000. I hope youre right, but if anything it will justify to ford to charge more not less.
The issue I see here is that Jeep doesn't build a 4x4 to do the same stuff as the Bronco. what they build a build is a platform for the modding community to have fun with. Jeep has been around for so long that they have the monopoly on aftermarket mods and this is where Jeep will stand its ground. Ford may have a solid vehicle here, but all mods for the bronco so far are made by ford, meaning that they can ramp the prices up to whatever they want. meanwhile, Jeep leaves all modding options to the community which creates competition, driving the prices down for aftermarket Jeep parts.
@@Papanza295 that’s because the vehicles are brand new. The 3rd party aftermarket guys haven’t been able to get them to make a product yet, but they will. There’s a very healthy aftermarket for the Tacoma, for example. Not like for the Wrangler, but there’s plenty available. If Ford actually tries to compete with the Wrangler, and they make at least a trim aimed at serious off-roading, and the consumers embrace it, then the aftermarket will follow.
Ford is most certainly throwing heat at Jeep. That’s the whole purpose for the Bronco. Healthy competition is great! Forces products and engineering to improve further.
if Toyota, Honda (maybe Nissan) had not started building superior quality cars and sending them over here the big three would of had no incentive to improve the dismal quality of their product over the crap they were building from about 1980 to early 2000's.
@Rusty Climber The UAW put them in bankruptcy. They had to pay them to not work. It was ridiculous. most of the big 3 cars are built abroad because of the UAW. more import brands are built here than domestic because they will not tolerate the UAW. The UAW squeezed the big 3 so hard they had to cheapen the cars to try to make a profit. maybe now that Ford will have the Bronco, Jeep will have to up the quality to compete. The Pontiac Aztek was a shining example of a vehicle that GM knew they were going to lose money on, but they had to build it anyway because it was cheaper to build it using the UAW, than to cancel it and pay the UAW guys to not work.
Rusty Climber you must live in a pretty crappy state. Come to Utah and say that 4 wheeling is dead you can go on just about any trail in Utah and see multiple people wheeling and rock crawling. You should try to get out of the city a bit more it’s a lot of fun and good stress relief.
I'm a Ford guy, my buddy is a Jeep guy. He said he's super happy the bronco came out because it's going to push jeep to do something different and/or better. Jeep has held the crown for a while, they haven't really experimented with much to push the limits of innovation. Now, we might see some change.
Same here, I'm a Jeeper and can't get enough of the Bronco shenanigans..Ford is doing the right thing! Push Jeep to innovate because those Broncos look tempting
The FJ Cruiser did the trail with zero body damage. The FJ100 lost some body parts during the same trip.🤣 When Toyota did it they used the $300,000 prototype, they hadn’t started production yet.
nick sanchez since the launch of the rubicons, I’d agree they haven’t made revolutionary changes. The longer control arms of the jl definitely improve ride and articulation on and off road. They made the windshield easier to fold than the jk. Doors are lighter which helps with removal. The front and rear lockers, sway bar disconnect, and lower low range transfer case were rubicon exclusive until Ford jumped on the band wagon. It’s much easier to copy the other guys formula and throw in a bit of one ups manship. The 360 cameras would be a nice add to the wrangler line. Factory 35’s available across all models would be nice too. Engine wise the eco diesel is still hard to beat. Hopefully they drive each other to some v8 options again, but time will tell.
i`m glad to see competition, but imitation of the jeep in the form of copying the removable top, doors, and then the full roll cage and the see through door panel cutout is all jeep stuff. the vehicle is a jeep copy but with a ford badge. thats not cool in my opinion

@@healthyamerican It's not copying Jeep since Jeep never claimed to have owned or came up with those features which most SUV of the like have it, plus it's an iconic thing that people want, so just because Jeep has it doesn't mean the Bronco shouldn't. We can all sit here and argue: Bronco vs. Wrangler. But does it matter? A lot of it has to do with the driver anyhow. I will just be tickled to see another capable off-road rig in dealer lots soon! I hope more auto makers join in on the fight!!
You miss the point. for the enthusiasts Jeep is no longer an American icon. It is now owned by Fiat and Fiat designs and unreialibility of mechanics are killing the enthusiasts. Ford is trying to became the new American off road icon. And that makes a lot of sense.
Of course its an obvious middle finger to Fiat Jeep. Like the son said its nothing new Toyoda FJ cruiser did it back over a decade ago. Its a Ford Bronco commercial.
@Jonathan T. Brown hltesting definetly not over. Production doesn't start until next year. They will be testing that vehicle right up until production to make it as best as possible. They don't just stop testing a vehicle when they think it's good enough.
I’m still pissed at Ford. Shame on them for cutting our favorite UA-camrs out of the launch. C’mon Ford, they didn’t violate a published gag order. It’s time to move on Ford.
It’s been a couple of decades since my Ford ownership experience and I am STILL PISSED! I wouldn’t trust a Bronco off road unless I had seen one go off-road many dozens of times.
That would explain a lot. Also by then bashing Ford they make themselves look bad. Nobody else. I was going to buy a Wrangler but I’ll wait for the Bronco and take a side by side look. I’m also hoping that the competition will make Jeep dealers more flexible. Can’t negotiate with them hardly at all. That will probably change and I buy nothing that I can’t negotiate. Certainly not something I don’t really need.
“Where’s the Ford Commercial” you’re part of it!! They don’t have to produce anything. These trucks are all over the internet organically. Absolutely brilliant.
Roman, you seem upset about Ford stepping into the Jeep Rubicon territory? Jeep has a well established history and there are a countless number of aftermarket parts, overland equipment designed for the Jeep. Ford has made a good design strategy to revive the Bronco image after OJ Simpson’s car chase days. It will take a few years to see how successful it becomes.
the biggest problem with the Jeep is it's a terrible highway vehicle, above 50 MPH it feels like the wheels are falling off, I say the Bronco won't be like that
Tom Turd when was the last time you drove a wrangler? Our jlu with the 2.0t handles great at speed, both on the freeway at 80+ and on windy mountain passes. The broncos ifs will ride smoother on the road, the Jeep would walk up that obstacle the ifs couldn’t quite make in the video. Most buyers don’t go off road at all, and even those that do stick to dirt roads. In that terrain the bronco has the edge. In the rocks where articulation is king, advantage Jeep. Ease of lifting, and thus cost is another huge disparity between the solid axle and the ifs. I hope the competition drives Jeep to improve upon their weak points, but for my off road needs I’ll stick with the proven commodity.
@@zachwhite2323 I OWNED a NEW 2011 Wrangler, took it to different dealers cause it wobbled all over the road past 50 MPH and they all told me the same thing, THEY ALL DO THAT, I traded it in after owning it for 6 months

In either case, you'll definitely find a better road ride from the Bronco. I'll always trade a little road manners for the off road performance I'm used to from a solid axle.

I don't think that Ford was making a "statement" just testing on one of the premier proving grounds. The spot in the video where the Bronco was struggling, is the hard route, to the left of that spot is a more passable route. I've been on the Rubicon several times in my very modified early Bronco (I even pull a trailer) and it's no piece of cake....even snapped a rear axle in the Little Sluice but, that was my fault, I was pulling a trailer. Ford did their homework on that IFS front end, it seems to flex remarkedly well and the steering linkage and CVs seem to be pretty stout as well. We'll have to wait for an actual magazine test/review with veteran pilots behind the wheel. And, they had way too much air in those tires! I usually go down to 8-10psi. So, kudos to Ford for showing the capabilities of their new Bronco.....not just another mall crawler!
I don’t think it’s meant to be “confrontational” at all. Ford just wants to show us that the Bronco is a seriously capable off-road truck! Why would they want to hide that?!
I'm a Bronco guy through and through with un interrupted ownership since 1983 and cant wait for my 2021 to be delivered, currently and happily driving my 95 EB. I also cant help but have a lot of respect for the Jeep Wrangler line, fantastic vehicles that have a strong following for a reason. I actually like the rivalry and think its good for both brands. Thanks for the vid i was hoping to see some on trail footage after i heard about it. . . . i promise to NOT put an "its a Bronco thing . . . you wouldnt understand" sticker on my new rig lol : D
I say both. The good thing about the Bronco is that it comes with Dana axles front and back, armor, and a proper lift. This just shows that the IFS has come a long way competing with the solid axle vehicles. Seems that Ford also had a good solution to the CV axle bind that would occur on IFS vehicles when used off road. I have an FJC which we deal with CV axle issues due to CV bind. Unless you replace it with a RCV axle that will go away due to the high angle of the axles, this replacement cause about $2.5K + for a pair or unless you create your own which I am doing using a Supra rear inner CV stub and mating it with a RCV 930 parts. I have finally completed the rear end upgrade with a 3 link LT with Currie F9 axle.
No serious JK offroader or overlander would consider a 4cyl turbo engine with an automatic transmission. More than 2.1 million Wrangler JKs have been made since production started in 2006 and they are everywhere, parts are cheap, the aftermarket is huge and the Bronco is IMO, a poor copy of the JK.
Love or hate the Ford Bronco, the one thing every Jeep enthusiast will appreciate is this added competition from Ford will finally force FCA (now Stellantis) to lower the price of the JL and JT along with finally upgrading some of the shortcomings that have been requests from Jeep owners for years such as a hemi option. Maybe we might even see a factory Dana 60 option, 10-speed auto option from the Ram for the Wrangler/Gladiator down the road too.
Everyone does the Rubicon these days, but when Ford does it in the new Bronco its being provocative? You do realize Broncos were doing the Rubi before the new Bronco was announced right?
Are you guys talking about the same Jeep Wrangler's that have to sit at the bottom of the hill behind my Tacoma and press a bunch of buttons to make it up the same hill the Tacoma walked right up? Leading a bunch or Wranglers through some trails and suddenly nobody is following because they are at the bottom of the hill pressing buttons to make the Jeep as capable at my Tacoma.

@@40calDeathPunch you don't have to be an ass about it. To me, it was not an overly difficult hill when dry, so there would be no reason to take video. We run that trail all the time and I lead trail out there for an event called SnoBlind so I know the trails well. I usually do that double hill climb first to separate the men from the boys. To me, the Jeep Rubicon is taking the skill out of off-roading. All you really need is a locking rear axle at the most. and someone in the group to have a winch. My 99 4Runner had a rear locking axle before Jeep ever thought of it.
I work in marketing. This is a direct challenge to Jeep. Ford didn't put the photos up, but you know they reached out to different outlets letting them know that the Bronco would be out there on this day at this time so keep an eye out.
Back in 2002 a friend of mine drove the entire Rubicon trail in his then factory stock base model 1998 Jeep Wrangler with it’s 2.5 liter 120 horsepower inline 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed manual transmission. It wasn’t easy and there were more than a few sections that took a long time and a lot of hard work to get through but he made it with minimal damage to his Jeep. A lot of people told him he was crazy and that he wouldn’t make it or that he would ruin his Jeep but he did it anyway. He did have to get some winch assistance from guys in the group he was with a few times so technically you can say he didn’t actually do it in a stock base model Wrangler because without the help of a winch he wouldn’t have gotten by a couple areas on his own but I’d consider it a successful run.
It's just a trail there's all kinds of vehicles going up it just because it's called the Rubicon doesn't mean nobody else can drive on it in any other vehicle

Nothing wrong with Ford competing against Jeep. It improves the vehicles and the buyers win.
I love Jeep but you have to admit wranglers can get very expensive. The competition may help in this regard.
These are raising the price aside from inflation and demand.... they are doing customer's no favors!
"Where is the commercial then?"
Dude... you ARE the commercial. That's how you know marketing did its job correctly... lol...
Absolutely correct! It is akin to reading the billboard that says "do billboards work, just did".
Also takes months to prep a actual commercial for a big brand like Ford
The Pontiac Aztek was a shining example of a vehicle that GM knew they were going to lose money on, but they had to build it anyway because it was cheaper to build it using the UAW, than to cancel it and pay the UAW guys to not work.
my point was that with the Bronco in the Off Road Market hopefully Jeep will have to up their quality in order to stay on top.
Exactly, this will force jeep to step their game up. Its a good thing for all of us
Rusty Climber you must live in a pretty crappy state. Come to Utah and say that 4 wheeling is dead you can go on just about any trail in Utah and see multiple people wheeling and rock crawling. You should try to get out of the city a bit more it’s a lot of fun and good stress relief.
As a Jeep owner I'm glad to see Ford bringing this back! I love the competition aspect of this!
The competition will only cause them to push each other to greater heights
This IS ABSOLUTELY a shot at Jeep! I applaud this healthy competition and can't wait to see what's next!

@@healthyamerican It's not copying Jeep since Jeep never claimed to have owned or came up with those features which most SUV of the like have it, plus it's an iconic thing that people want, so just because Jeep has it doesn't mean the Bronco shouldn't. @@raionshishi8290 its almost an identical vehicle. But i would include the original toyota land cruiser and mahindra and land rover defender which were also copies of jeep. Jeep has a well established history and there are a countless number of aftermarket parts, overland equipment designed for the Jeep. Ford has made a good design strategy to revive the Bronco image after OJ Simpson’s car chase days. It will take a few years to see how successful it becomes.
It was absolutely confrontational and I love it! Competition between the two and we consumers all win!
I think it was two fold. Ford wants to legitimize the Bronco as an off road capable vehicle. It doesn't hurt to do it in Jeeps back yard.
the biggest problem with the Jeep is it's a terrible highway vehicle, above 50 MPH it feels like the wheels are falling off, I say the Bronco won't be like that
Tom Turd when was the last time you drove a wrangler?

Maybe your's was worse than the jk's I've driven, or superduty's for that matter of the same era , maybe you are expecting a car/ifs like ride that you'll never see out of a solid axle?

We buy them because we love them and ya never know when it'll come in handy. Rather have either of these vehicles up in the mountains in general when its heavy snowing than any standard car.
You guys make it SO much more interesting and fun to see than any other Bronco reviews/videos I've seen, congrats, great channel!
Dad is spot on! Ford is DEFINITELY making a statement here... the Bronco will absolutely demolish a Jeep. BTW... the original military Jeep was made by Ford Motor Company.
Ford took a dump on Jeep's living room floor.
Dumped parts looks like
Ford still has to win the customer base time will tell what they did or didn't accomplish so far my money is safe in my pocket. looks to much like my Jeep might as well stay with something I already own!
I think the bronco is just an average SUV , people are to make it what it's not I'm not blind I can see and hear very good
More like it shit the 🛌 😂
why doesnt the new land rover defender do the rubicon trail? or any land rover for that matter? we all know the answer to that
I think your dad is right son.
I suppose so! Thanks for watching -Tommy
@@TFLoffroad Common Tommy, it is not a right or wrong situation. lol These people are just taking it too personal. Where as you are properly being objective. Which is something we have in common. ;) Stick to your objective side and see things from all angles and you will find more friends than enemy's. :)
This is the trail that everyone has to do period! That’s it!
I don’t think ford did it just because, they did it because fca is going after the pickup market with Ram so naturally ford went after the off-road market with the Bronco that Jeep normally controls.
I as a modified Jeep Rubicon owner saw those photos in your video for the first time and immediately thought wow I like that better than my wrangler. Especially for my family to be able to go with me.
I literally just got home from the jeep jamboree Rubicon trail. My wife and I took our 03 TJ Rubicon for our first off road experience. We made it home without a scratch. Those trail guides are masters.
Roman, NO, your wrong. Tommy’s right on this one!👍
If on 33's that is impressive.
Rubicon Wrangler does it on 33s
Nah was said Bronco will come with 35s from factory.
@@reisen-5970 Only if you get a certain package called "Sasquatch".
If you don't get that package then most trims come stock with 33in wheels
@@UncleElroy21 32's... 255/75r17 or a 32.6 in the 285/70r17.
Corey Garcia sorry most trims come with 32s. The only ones that dont are the Badlands with 33s and the wildtrack comes standard with sasquatch package so 35s. The 35s though when you add the sasquatch on any trim are only MT tires. Unfortunately no AT tire option.
I totally agree with Roman’s comments lol 😆.
MILTON Richardson If the bronco lasts a week it’s still longer than the jeep😂
Ford was going after Jeep when they went to the Rubicon trail
With Toyota and Ford, all Jeep hears is... “look at me! Look at me! I can do it too!”
Jeep looks back through the rear view mirror and assures, “that’s good boys, way to go... let’s keep going though...”
So oo oo chevy is last as usual making something to challenge? Maybe they'll bring the Aztec 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like more tears from the uninvited, how much longer will this go on? When I got shot at, I got over it by the end of the day!
Nothing new.. Remember Ford built the jeep during WW2... more than half produced. The Ford GPW was "Jeepin" before Jeep was around...
The government turned all auto plants into war manufacturing . This includes FORD . These auto manufactures did not go into making war machines unless there is money in it . There was money in making war machines . Paid by us tax payers . Not the government of the so called Federal Reserve . The Federal Reserve is about as Federal as Fed-EX . The true inventor for what we called the JEEP was Willies .
Ford built B-24s under license from Consolidated. Goodyear built Corsairs under license from Vought, Packard built Merlins for P-51s under license from Rolls-Royce. Ford built jeeps under license from Willys, so I wouldn't say they were "Jeepin" before Jeep was around." It was Willys' design the US Army selected and Ford built.
@@jeffmullinix7916 Wrong! The true inventor of the Jeep was Bantam. Look it up!
Yes Thanks for reminding me it was Bantam . I am loosing it . I should have known that . Thanks
Actually, Willy's built the Jeep. Willy's needed more production, so they allowed Ford to build Willy's Jeeps. The W in GPW stands for Willy's.
Ive owned 5 Broncos ranging from 74-86. 86 is my current vehicle.
I also owned about 5 jeeps. Ranging from scrambler, yj, xj, and a wj.
Both manufacturers make great long lasting purpose built vehicles.
After seeing a few 2021 Bronco walk around videos, I definitely feel Fords really leapt ahead of jeep. Such a highly customizable vehicle. Right down to the bolt on 1/4’s to eliminate trail damage. Great job Ford!
Ok jeep. Now lets see your response.
Bronco seems to be a nice vehicle. Competition is good. Love my Jeep ...dont love the prices they ask for them though. Doesnt seem like both vehicles will be dropping prices anytime soon.
Roman is so sour over ford dissing him,,, c’mon man lets get over, 😂
I agree, it's getting old already.
Where was he sour in this video?
I agree, Roman needs to let it go. It is starting to get old.
That's exactly how I took his response to this as well.
If i had to buy one or the other, ill take that diesel bronco.
Unless you've got some secret insider info, there isn't a diesel powered Bronco.

Good for Ford! Glad to see their confidence in their products!
Tommy is so naive...isn’t there an autonomous Tesla he can back into a pole? 😂
If Ford really wants to make a statement put push forward release instead of current talk of summer or fall of 2021
NOOOO as much as i would love this i need to save more for a down payment XD
You sound like one of those that thinks the world revolves around you, or the ones that want to speak to the manager. The truth is that the more a company teases you with a product, the more you desire it. Ask yourself this.....how many people were waiting in line to get the new Blazer? 0
@@veganmikedizzle4303 I think you need to read my statement again. Ford is not doing well as a company right now. I have seen that close to 100,000 are on the waiting list. More jobs and happy customers are what would Ford best right now
@@thelakebar We're in the middle of a "plandemic". I think Ford isn't the only company struggling.
Oh holy yes. Unofficial declaration of war. :-)
I think it's both! Love the content!!!!!
Ford has always been provocative. Especially with the mustang, gt40 in le mans, and now it's new come back bronco. Lol
I have rented two door jeeps in Silverton Colorado and was impressed several years later we rented a jeep Rubicon it was the roughest ride i ever rented was so glad to get off the trail.
I really hope the Bronco will restore Toyota’s faith in the offroad SUV market. Obviously, the 4runners are selling great now but Toyota needs something more Jeep-ish or Bronco-ish with retro styling. *cough* FJ Cruiser *cough*
i would love to see a new FJ
Ha, we see how well in-tune with the markets they are with their Supra flop.

TheGeekwad If only!
So let me get this straight, Ford is going to show up jeep by finally doing what jeep has been doing for 40 years? LOL
That was exactly RIM's thinking, the manufacturer of Blackberry phone, when the first iphone came out.
No! Jeep is doing what it is doing now for only 12 years. Since 2009 Jeep belongs to the Italian Fiat. Until then Jeeps were decent looking, decently reliable super off-roaders. Since then, Jeeps are very unreliable, ugly looking - Cherokee which is a Fiat Strada of 80's design revived, vehicles.
Daddy wasn't there to change my underwear!
ABSOLUTELY intentional!!! No doubt. And I am a Jeep owner (more than one...) and I have NO problem with Ford coming out strong with some in your face competition!!!
This was absolutely a message from Ford to Jeep - "You have a serious challenger. Watch out."
Good on Ford for taking these Bronco's to the Rubicon!! I hope they can provide Jeep with some solid, well-earned competition!
6:47 there is zero flex on the rock. This is where IFS will bite them in the butt
Judging by the fact that they made it, i don't see how, also, the specs says it has better flex then the Jeep.
I think fords biggest mistake is not giving this truck a solid front axle, the strength and durability of a solid front axle can not be beat. That said s.a.s is not a bad wat to go once the warranty runs out.
Disappointing that Ford went with the Independent Front Suspension on the Bronco... Well it’s technically is a Ranger. Has anyone ever had good longevity with the Ford Ranger?. Lockers will help but it won’t last. The IFS is going to leave you stranded.
@@raionshishi8290 Maybe stock, but unless you have trophy truck kinda money you cannot upgrade ifs for flex like you can a solid axle. Swap out the stock control arms for a set with Johnny joints and you have more flex that you know what to do with. Google images "Big sluice flex" and you'll see what I mean (part of the rubicon trail). Not to mention that IFS will not last nearly as long on the rocks because a solid axle is just so much stronger and simpler. Also the rubicon is not near the hardest offroad trail out there. It can be done in a stock 4 door rubicon on 33" wheels, the trail is more demanding on the driver and the spotters
sterlings it’s definitely not a Ranger. It only shares the frame. Most of its suspension is pretty different.
Yes they did target jeep specifically!
I can't wait to get a decal on my YJ that says...."Bronco Recovery Vehicle".
Arnold Corella Jr. will your boyfriend allow that?

Your father is absolutely correct, this is what is know as a market soft launch leak. Today’s marketers know that if you put it out there or if you utilize key influencers they will push your message for you and everyone interested or seeking information will eat it up because information is scarce .
Great video guys. Photos and video cannot reveal how rough it is and how step the drive can be. I have been on the Rubicon 3 times. The first time was 1969 with Toyota driving a stock FJ40 which destroyed the Jeeps. The Jeeps broke axles, driveshafts and high centered frequently. Fortunately Jeep fixed a lot of these issues. Glad to see Ford out there with their new Bronco.
I was planning to buy Jeep Wrangler on next year. But with the advent of Bronco, my mind changed completely. Jeep Wrangler is also a good car but I will buy Ford Bronco.
