Fun fact: Taylor wrote this at 17 when her parents strongly dispaproved of a boy she wanted to date, she closed herself in her bedroom and after like a half an hour/hour later she came out with the whole thing

I’ve watched the Speak now tour on UA-cam she did in my home town of Chicago. Just amazed at the entire performance. I’ve seen Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and The who in their prime and Taylor’s concerts have all been better.

I don't know if you know this, but Andrea, Taylor's mother, said that once, Taylor was mad at her and her father b/c they didn't let her date a guy who for them was questionable, so Taylor went in her room to what they thought was to blow off steam. Taylor came out only half an hour later with this song fully written. Taylor told the story too, and she said that when her parents didn't let her date this guy she remembered Romeo and Juliet and wanted to give them a happy ending.
This is one of her first hits, when she was doing country. She was 16 when she released the album. "Our song' was her 3rd hit & she was the youngest person to single handedly write a Hot country #1 single. 'Our song', 'Tim McGraw (her 1st hit) & White Horse are all cool country tunes from those days, when she was a baby. LOL
This song has a precious place in my heart. I remember listening to it when I was still in middle school (I was sad and depressed) imagining myself as a princess from a fairy tale. Taylor swift is such a great artist since day one.

Actually, it was filmed at two locations: the campus of Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN and Castle Gwynn in Arrington, TN. The former is also where the ballroom scenes were shot in the university's Memorial Hall.
