ANNOUNCEMENT: A lot of you guys have been appreciating the new editing style lately… well thats because I actually hired an editor for the first time, and he’s Russell the same guy Apex Greatness podcast, who I’ve streamed with before.
This is his channel www.youtube.com/@apexgreatness, and let’s get them WELL ABOVE 1,000 subs. They cover NBA History and hypothetical scenarios, just like I do. Thanks Russell for being my new editor!!
So not only will you guys have better editing to view on the videos, but VIDEOS WILL NOW BE DAILY! This is definitely a schedule I believe we can maintain, now that I can focus all of my energy on the writing aspect, and I’ve got enough ideas to last until my heart stops.

P.S. Jonny is genuinely one of the nicest people I know, I felt this way before I started this, and now in this role he's been the best boss I could've asked for. I do not have to say this, but I think it matters and it should be said. Anyways, thanks everyone!

The thing I hate most about this discussion is when people say Lebron is "only 38 and not in his 40s." He is 550 minutes off of playing the most minutes in NBA history (regular + playoffs). At 38, he's played 10,000 MORE minutes that Kareem did at 38. But then people act like that somehow is going to do less damage to his body than going to college?
Kareem's longevity is insane, especially for a 7'2, 220 pounder who began his career in the 1960s, but in no way is there even a debate anymore, Lebron has the greatest longevity in basketball history and is up there in that category in all of sports. If you want to say Kareem is the greatest 38 year old then fine, but those two at 38 are not the same length into their careers.
Kinda crazy that LBJ passing Kareem in total minutes played isn't a topic being talked about that much though.

*The difference between MJ and LBJ is* _another Top 15 All-Time player_ = _at least_ *2 more chips mvps and fmvps, 3 more b2b title defenses, DPOTY way more all-defensive teams and way WAY more scoring titles...and all in far less time.*

When comparing either season or age, there is going to be some uncertainty to the comparisons. One could argue, like you said, that age is a more fair comparison than season. However, in terms of "NBA" age or "NBA miles" LeBron also would have gone through 1-2 more NBA seasons + playoffs - which to be fair - is a lot more wear and tear on his body than the other player would have experience in college.
It's kind of hard to compare apples to apples unless we're comparing to Garneer or Kobe or others drafted out of high school also.

If you analyze how he obtains the data, you can come to the conclusion that he takes up the most of the team's ball rights, while his teammates lose more ball rights than before, so his teammates' The data has dropped significantly compared to before he was his teammate, and James has his own truce rules. He is more likely to take a rest when encountering a strong team, but he still works hard on the court when he is against a weak team or the victory or defeat no longer matters. There are too many examples of this. Analyzing his scoring area, he is more close to the basket. He does not have the comprehensive scoring methods of Kobe/Jordan/Durant. His role is more like an enhanced role player, requiring everyone on the team to work for him. Sacrifices were made for his style of play, which is why Wade gave up the ball to him in the Heat, because he couldn't do what Wade could do. And what he can do is what Wade can do. He is a person packaged by the league who relies on the help of referees and is still beaten 0-4. Why does a basketball player have four media companies? In my eyes he will never be better than Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, Malone, Stockton, Drexler, Charles Barkley, Kobe Bryant, Curry, Larry Bird, Dirk Novis Key, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, not to mention Jordan, he is not even an athlete in terms of sportsmanship. Kobe was still destroying the league at age 34, it's a shame because he could've been a monster toward the end.
I still think John Stockton and Kareem have an edge due to advanced metrics and the modern NBA making it easy to rack up stats. Kareem played 79 games and Stockton played all 82, that type of consistency at that age while dealing with a more physical game and hand checking, it's just a different level.
Lebron definitely has an argument though, you could say he's been tasked to do more than Stockton and Kareem while playing way more minutes. But both of those legends did what they were tasked to do expertly.

Yeah, Bron has a losing finals record but it's because he made 10 finals and lost 3 times to one of the greatest dynasties ever, once without Kyrie or Love. The only losses he was to blame are 2011 and 2014. The reason I think Jordan is the GOAT is because he was better on defense at an age when LeBron wasn't and has made 9 1st team all defense while winning 10 scoring titles and being clutch almost every playoff series, while advanced stats suggest he was a slightly more productive player than Bron. Also he is undefeated on the biggest stage and never choked there but it doesn't mean Bron should be criticized so much for the 6 finals losses, he isn't the greatest but it shouldn't be used to say he will need 2 rings and otherwise he will never be the GOAT. Objectively he can without 6 rings
