Great writing Little Marvin. I grew to hate all the white characters on a personal level. I feel the need to apologize to all African Americans who are or were beaten down by racism. Makes me more ashamed of my ancestors who started this treatment. Ignorance was quite common back then. We are all human, all equal and all should have the same opportunities available to us always. Those first three white characters need to be killed at some point. Even though I am done with Season 1, I find myself still wanting this family to seek out those people that killed their baby boy. Thank you again for a great viewing experience.

The series " Them" was great, it shows the truth of what happened in the 50s which everyone should be aware of , blacks or whites. Black people were definitely Traumatised living in that kind of environment. If black people wants movie on order, please create your own and invest in your own. If you don't put the money don't criticise.
I loved the show, we need more black scary/scifi tv and movies. Watch the show before you judge.. #horrorfan. This is a disturbing series so if you can’t handle dark movies I wouldn’t watch this. If you watched hereditary or midsomar then you this is for you!
The producer and director of this show knows how to write horror. it isnt always about "jump scares," it has to have something diffrent. like distorted faces. and dark images. that is whats going to keep you up at night.
The real life truth is always horrifying..this is based off real historic experiences...this stuff HAS AND STILL is happening...in the land of the free at that
like many others i agree, this is very traumatic, triggering, and heavy. i literally was shaking and crying watching episode 9 because it is not entertainment. it is the truth. the truth that hurts so bad, but is SO NECESSARY to be told. even though this was very necessary, there does not need to be any more movies or series about black trauma. we are so much more than that. we still have yet to tell stories of black billionaires, inventors, and creators on a mass scale. the hidden figures and madam c. j. walker are the stories i want to see more of. all in all this show was very well written and produced, but watch it at your own caution.
I liked the series. As a Black American, I can appreciate what the characters were going through. As far as a British black person and an African black person, the leads didn't have the lived experience of being a black American. So them being able to decompress themselves from the characters' experiences 😏. I Loved the Tap Dance character. The gentleman did a great job with that. I felt like the white lady who was the main antagonist was given a reason for her bigotry when they showed us her back story being assaulted by her father. Also, I didn't like that they made the family that assaulted the mother and killed the baby, like some deranged hills have eyes characters. As if regular ole everyday whites weren't doing such things back in the day. (I'm from the south, I've heard stories!)They weren't mentally disturbed!
Great conversation! This question has nothing to do with the story, but I’m curious about. Where did they find all those different patterned wall paper?! They looked amazing!
It was so hard to watch, especially at the worst parts, but in a way it needed to be done, white people(including myself) we don’t know the circumstances of what happened back then, and seeing pictures isn’t enough in my eyes, I believe we should know whole heartedly what our ancestors did to black people, how ignorant and obsessed they were with “white is right”. I couldn’t help but feel so horrible knowing this really did happen to so many black families and black Americans(not the paranormal part, just the blatant racism) the anguish, the fear, the revolt, the dis-attachment to themselves/culture, the feeling of unacceptance. The fact these feelings are still being held in the hands of so many of them. Just because we are out of slavery, or the Jim Crow era, doesn’t mean these feelings have gone away from both black and white people. We need to do better as white people, we need to know what our ancestors did, and we need to live with the fact it’s still happening. It’s now just passive aggression, micro aggressions, macro aggressions, executioners who have a gun at their side waiting for a black person to make the “wrong move”. We need to realize our white privilege, and use it for the betterment of the people, and not for ourselves, because we still make up so much of this country, still hold most of the power. When will we help? If you’re not helping, you’re just as bad as the white characters in this series.
I get the direction of your statement and Ik you mean well. But this is where I have a problem . The film industry shouldn’t be the ones educating you of our past. Do the work. Yes the show was very triggering but let me just say the cast acting was superb as angry as I got I had to watch until the end their acting was just that good
If I see one more movie that hyper focuses on Black trauma. I need some imagery of Black joy! I did watch episode 1 and thought it was a visual masterpiece with amazing music and acting. I’m not gonna watch anymore though. Black folks have experienced (and continue to experience) enough horror and terror in this country ...I don’t need to watch it over and over again.
S P O I L E R A L E R T (As if anyone would read this remark anyway - ha!) In the first episode as they are celebrating and dancing in their beautiful new home (before morning came and the crows had gathered, setting up camp with polite folding chairs and radios blaring), you see the potential of their joy. Their bond is so beautiful and you mourn for all that came against them to take their joy. For some of the story, i feared they would be casualties, either psychologically or just plain killed. They were sustained and ultimately triumphant was joy in a sense, I think. Hard-fought for.
I wanted to stop watching after episode 5 not because it was boring but because of the emotional torture. It was too stressful to watch, however the acting was great and the whole cast was on point including the villains
I finished watching the first two episodes, and what can I say I had to watch this interview here afterwards to remind myself that it's just a show and to calm down. Should I continue watching it? Man, it's just really tough.
@@JoeCLARKGANGClark haha so how are you holding up? I think the worst part for me is probably not even the supernatural stuff, but the fact that the 50s were in fact such an unspeakable period for our people. That shit about exposing black soldiers to mustard gas to see how it would affect them? Man that shit is real. And just the way white people on the show say negro as if it were the most natural thing on earth also creeps me out. I think this shows way more terrifying than say Jordan Peele's movies. The thing I loved about Get Out was the fact that the black protagonist got some sweet revenge.
It’s reality get over it. That’s the problem turning a blind eye to reality that’s what’s gone make shit stay the same gotta recognized the problem to address and change it
Just so you know PopSugar had what looked to be an interview with Deborah Ayorinde, but I think it's just quoting her words here. Felt I should mention it in case they didn't credit your video.
I'll tell you it was creepy, but made me really hope some of the scenes were never actually reality. We are a country filled with hate, so parts of this really broke my heart. Everything is a trigger for everyone anymore. For me this was an opportunity to learn more about history. As a society we need to look at these things and learn how to move forward from past traumas.
I think it was just a metaphor. Kinda like a manifestation of their own inner demons and (just going by the religious stuff in it) how the devil can take those forms (idrk how to word it) I think theres a video explaining it!

That’s the problem turning a blind eye to reality that’s what’s gone make shit stay the same gotta recognized the problem to address and change it
im relieved they had therapy
I don't understand the ghost 👻 metaphor. Are they seeing themselves in the ghost?
Just so you know PopSugar had what looked to be an interview with Deborah Ayorinde, but I think it's just quoting her words here. Felt I should mention it in case they didn't credit your video.
Damn deborah is fine....ufta
I'll tell you it was creepy, but made me really hope some of the scenes were never actually reality. We are a country filled with hate, so parts of this really broke my heart. Everything is a trigger for everyone anymore. For me this was an opportunity to learn more about history. As a society we need to look at these things and learn how to move forward from past traumas.
So was the fam actually being haunted by those demons/ghosts?
I think it was just a metaphor. Kinda like a manifestation of their own inner demons and (just going by the religious stuff in it) how the devil can take those forms (idrk how to word it) I think theres a video explaining it!
Too short, need more
