Patricia is a gem, and she is definitely the core of what makes this show work so well; having said that, the cast that supports her is crucial and, to me, irreplaceable. As an American, I can honestly say this has been always in the top five of my favorite comedies.👍👍❤️
This is a relatively simple show yet it is hilarious! The writers are brilliant! We need more of this. I always wondered how Hyacinth thought she was going to get away with stealing the car.
LOL. I had an aunt like Hyacinth who was always pretending she and her husband had more than they really did. My mother would say how hard a full time job it was to constantly put on false airs like that. This scene was certainly living proof! :D
"Hello Onslow, this is your sister in law. Is Daisy about? No? Well can you come to the police station and bail us out. See we tried calling Violet first, but she is busy trying to get Bruce down a tree. "
I’m an American and this show is hilarious, of course… but I was made aware that there is more to this show and there is ACTUALLY a term: 📯 Hyacinth Bucket Syndrome I was blown away. And several comments my British friends would make, along the lines of “oh I know someone who is EXACTLY like her!”
Probably the episode that almost made me die of laughter was when Richard had gout (according to Hyacinth) and he was driving their little blue hotrod and he was missing every gear and they were grinding, ha ha ha ha
@@thomashninan3825 She deserved it, just can't believe Richard was forced to be in this mess. Still they should have continued filming it where Hyacinth is in lock up saying she's innocent. Now that would have been the icing on the cake.
Most interesting: 2:07, the Rolls Royce, SA33 number plate. Doing a road tax check, this plate is now registered to a green Volvo. First registered in December 2006. MOT and Road Tax currently up to date until June/July 2020 this year!!

I'd totally understand if Richard joined the #metoo for men. This poor soul was so abused by the Bucket woman to ever be normal again and not traumatized.
Yes that woman is an impostor to be put in jail and for treating her husband like a sack of potatoes.😡 Moreover she is abusive with her neighbours and family. Very obnoxious person.

I always wondered that. I wondered if maybe Patricia didn't drive in real life, so that's why Hyacinth didn't. Also, we never see Emmett or Daisy driving either.
I'm in this. The hotel guest in the green jacket, over-acting like crazy when I see Hyacinth and Richard. Outrageous!
Holy shit , that's awesome! Did you get to meet the cast?
@@ANDCFC95 No. Supporting artistes not suppose to talk to principal actors. Unless they talk to you first.
@@MaltingFarm99 That's a bit aristocratic...
Wow!
@@DrinkWhiskeyRaiseHell I do not think so. They were working and probably didn't want to have to deal with distractions from different people on set
Just for the physicality side of things Patricia Routledge must have been exceptionally fit. She always seems such a delightful lady.

I always wondered how Hyacinth thought she was going to get away with stealing the car.
Only one writer wrote the whole series and it was it's creator, Roy Clarke.
They didn't steal the Royce. She just wanted to go for a spin.
Didn't steal the car she took it for a test drive and she allwas planned to return it.

Oh, and Onslow, don't leave the house without a shirt! I hate it when you don't wear a shirt!
Hyacinth's family always shows up to spoil her plans to get a foothold on the social ladder. She's such a scheming snob!
And the huge irony is that most of the aristocrats she chases seem to gel better with her family than her.
@@francofan100true
I noticed Richard didn't open the car door for Hyacinth once they dropped the fencing, lol.
the informer it was a get away😹😹😹
I really like Onslow's sense of fashion...errr, lack thereof.
A rare occassion where he's wearing a shirt, probably cos even he couldn't go into a place like that in just a vest.
Hyacinth and Richard were trying to avoid Daddy, Daisy, Onslow and Rose in this scene
Dominic Harkin I see 😂!
Daddy is a senile old man who wears a safari outfit.
I loved the one where Hynacinth is trying to impress Mrs. Fortescue, and she heads to the pub with Daisy and Rose, that was great.
First time Richard didn't open the door for Hyacinth.
Tom Fox Probably the last time he didn't open the door for her either! 😂😂

presumably why they gave Hyacinth the canon maiden surname of "Walton" in the "young" series!
We know where Hyacinth got it from, her dad!
Fun fact. Patricia is a trained opera singer. So it must have been even harder for her to sing out of tune!
In actual fact, you need to be a very good singer in order to sing badly convincingly!
I dunno, I'm such a bad singer, I think I could pull it off lol
