I kinda agree with Connor with the showering thing. It depends on what activities you were up to for how often you shower. Though I would also add climate and temperature to the conditions as well. Every other day should be fine as long as you aren't doing activities or you aren't somewhere that makes you stink.
Depends on what you mean by shower. Where i live its not the same. I take a bath everyday, but i never shower. Yes i do wash my hair regularly, but a bath is more than just cleaning yourself. It literally cleanses your mind too. There was a time where i was like man taking a bath, id rather not now. Ive gone max for like 1.5 days without a bath. But even if your body doesnt produce bo where you live, body is constantly producing oils and accumulating dust etc. Not just physically, but also mentally. Water washes all of that away. I dont think anybody needs to have a reason for taking a bath, and yes, f any science, be it on my side or not, bathing is a process, not some activity like fitness where you decide to do it or not. We need not agree on this, but it definitely isnt about science.
Did Garnt and Joey forget that they agreed with connor that showering every day is bad? I could've sworn once they talked about showering, and they agreed that showering every day is unessessary.
Taking a shower as needed is the way to go. Did you just run in 80F sunny weather and get sweaty af. Take a shower. If you not stinky after a day at a desk job then no shower is good. Shower every 2 days is pretty good
It’s also noteworthy that not everyone has BO and not everyone produces as much oils. In East Asia BO is so rare that it’s considered a disease/affliction and deodorant only exists in speciality shops. I’ve seen Asian classmates get bullied for not showering everyday because “ew you must stink!” But they literally don’t, at all. Similar story for the hair of black people. They don’t produce as many hair oils, so they don’t need to wash it very often. Some can even go months without. But my black friend in high school got so much shit from stupid ass kids when she revealed she hadn’t washed her hair for 3 weeks after she got it braided. It was so sad and ignorant.
that doesn't matter bro. you still crap out your ass each day, and can't sit here and tell me some people's shit don't stink because then you are straight up insanely deluded.
This is slightly misleading, ABCC11, the gene that gives some (but not all) East Asians less body odor is specifically for body odor from the armpits. Asians still sweat in strong heats/after workouts etc. and they can still very much smell. Though this gene generally means they still smell less than other people under the same conditions. But yeah, they do have BO. I live in Hong Kong, which has a very similar “hot as hell with extreme humidity” climate to Japan and have 100% come across many smelly East Asians. Simply cause it’s so scorching hot people basically sweat from everywhere lol Also another smell which is common among East Asians is smelly mouths. Because in most countries they don’t put fluoride in their water, and they also emit it from their toothpastes, so different degrees of tooth decays and stuff are fairly common. You can meet a lot of people with very smelly breaths, especially amongst the elderly.
When it comes to the hygiene thing, I think it's important to come at it from a place of sympathy too because you don't necessarily know how bad their family has it. I had a friend in high school where him, his sister, and their mom and dad could only shower once every two weeks to save money on water because of how little money they had.
Growing up I never met someone who showered daily, but that's because of how much using the bidet daily is the norm here (european bidet, not the japanese ones). Heck until a few months ago it wasn't even legal in my country for a house to not have a bidet.
I agree with connor you dont need to shower everyday specially if you are not leaving your home, by garnt logic you could also nasty by not showering 3 times a day, why 24 hours?
Southeast Asia is pretty warm and humid. People sweat alot in climates like that do its obvious. But people that live in cold areas that dont sweat much dont have any reason to shower everyday.
I agree with Connor here. I shower every 2nd day and have never had any issues. I take like 30 minutes to shower though and 5 to dry off. If I spent that much time daily it would add up real fast and I'd spend a lot less time enjoying life.
On the topic of showering every day, I was originally in Connor's camp, if I knew I wasn't going anywhere that day, I wouldn't see the point in showering but, one day I had an unexpected visit from a person on a day I was hella stinky and that person noticed I hadn't showered. It was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life and I now shower every day.
I am a sweaty person, as well as an oily person, so my skin and hair can be oily enough to grease a friggin pan. I do wash my face at least twice a day. I do have to wash my hair every other day, but if I don't have to give a shit about my appearance on the next wash day, I'll wear a headband. And while I love watching anime and reading books, I can't do it for a whole day. I will do something every day that will get me moving and sweat will accumulate. I do shower everyday, but its usually an "essential" shower, usually just the crevices, like for girls is underboob, pits, crotch area. Try telling a girl on her monthly cycle that she's not showering everyday 😂 I did have a friend from high school whose family had no sense of hygiene (cockroach infested house, no one brushed their teeth, 3-in-1 soap, chainsmokers) so I actually had to teach her that her hair looks, feels, and smells like that because of $1 combo soap, and the solution isnt to drown herself in axe body spray.
I had a friend who smelt bad, and I didn't say anything till he started dating, he was literally a workaholic who worked for very long hours, so I knew why he smelt bad at the end of the day when we met, but I told him straight up you smell bad, if you want a better chance at dating, you should clean up a bit, and I said it as nice as possible, and he actually cleaned up after that
I think the reason he thinks like that is because he comes from a cold country. In tropical latitude countries where is hot all year showering is a necessity
Depends on the season and activity. Once a day when it's really hot or you go outside a lot. Once every two days if it's cold and you went outside for a bit. I think two days without showering is the limit, and it's very conditional.
you forgot shitting. which is what most normal people do everyday. lol... wdf. you must smell really bad bro. just cuz your used to your smell doesn't mean everyone else is. specially if you don't wash your ass.
Men are naturally smellier (more pungient), its a hormonal thing. Having a bidet is indispensable to do this tho, otherwise I can't stay more than a day like that. Climate is important to condider too if you live in a hot location, showering everyday is a must imo.
It is easy, just tell them "Oh, have you been watching anime recently?", this should tip them off that they must smell, so they will take appropriate action
@JUNJYR ah yes, insult someone first, that'll get em. Nice! Sorry, warrior, it was a joke. Next time I will add *THIS IS A JOKE* at the end of all my sentences next time.
It's not bad to shampoo every day, this completely depends on hair type. Some people need to, others only have to shampoo every couple of days. Also, telling everybody to "just shower everyday, it's not expensive" is really disingenuous to those who live in countries where clean water is scarce and expensive. Rich people really need to stop giving advice lol.
Connor: I stink sometimes Also Connor: I don’t shower every day. Like bro what? You gotta shower everyday. How else are you not going to smell. It’s also good to remove excess oils (you don’t need all that oil) and dead skin. IMO the bed makes you dirty. Think about it you aren’t moving, wrapped in a blanket, and sweating. All that musk is building up. You brush your teeth twice a day so why aren’t you washing your body at least once a day
You get cavities if you don’t brush your teeth. If you don’t shower, you get…slightly musky sometimes. People in the past showered like once a year and were fine. As in they were stinky as hell but no skin cavities. Don’t be like that, but don’t act like missing a day makes you rancid. The fact that people in the past had better skin even when almost never bathing shows that the modern obsession to remove all oils and dead skin is unfounded. What makes something bad if it never hurts you? We just decided that every body oil is gross, but now we need lotion and conditioner because clearly oil from Big Pharma is better. That’s like vacuum drying your eyes and then using artificial tears.
I think the real difference is Connor lives alone
His take on not showering due to a lack of any sweating inside an air conditioned apartment is kinda based

They forget a lot and change opinions every now and then, I guess they have trash taste. Badumm Tss
i think there was context that are missing on those takes and sometimes or most of the time people change opinions
Taking a shower as needed is the way to go. Did you just run in 80F sunny weather and get sweaty af. Take a shower. If you not stinky after a day at a desk job then no shower is good. Shower every 2 days is pretty good
That only works if you live a sedentary lifestyle and don't sweat.
Depression makes this worse but then you dont go outside either

Showering everyday is a must in southeast asia, showering before bed feels so good and helps me sleep better
Southeast Asia is pretty warm and humid. People sweat alot in climates like that do its obvious. But people that live in cold areas that dont sweat much dont have any reason to shower everyday.
I swear every trash taste viewer is South Asian
I’m also an every other day shower person. I don’t have an outdoors job and I don’t smell bad after just 1 day, so there’s really no need
Not showering every day is just gross.
I agree with Connor here. I shower every 2nd day and have never had any issues. I take like 30 minutes to shower though and 5 to dry off. If I spent that much time daily it would add up real fast and I'd spend a lot less time enjoying life.

I shower not because of the smell, but because my skin feels uncomfortable when I touch the bed sheets.
those two things are literally mutually exclusive. lol ... what..?
I think the reason he thinks like that is because he comes from a cold country. In tropical latitude countries where is hot all year showering is a necessity
Depression causes this
I def experienced that in college days
8:27 - 8:33 My favorite part of this entire video 😂

Unless you're sweating, you should not need to shower every day. Idk what kind of excessive BO the other boys are producing lol
Humid countries, Australia and Thailand are humid
Oh wait Japan is humid too nvm

On how many showers you need: It definitely depends how active your lifestyle is
This episode just makes me think of Connor being even more similar to the Pilot in Shogun than before.
It is easy, just tell them "Oh, have you been watching anime recently?", this should tip them off that they must smell, so they will take appropriate action
So Connor doesnt shower which means his bed sheets get pungent.
How is your message from 4 days ago
@@FourFourTwo123 I watched this on patreon, early access
He misses like a day every week and he washes the sheets every week. We can only assume he washes the sheets instead of showering

you say “you smell bad”
who the fuck showers every day

Showering doesn't specifically remove excess oils, it removes oils period and removing too much is also bad.
It's really unnecessary to do it every day. 5 times per week is fine unless you do heavy labor every day or go to the gym every day
