I like that the defense is making consequential big plays, sacks and turnovers now unlike last year's version. Five sacks is excellent with a turnover and another called back. Defensive pressure was good. That is a tremendous improvement over last year. It helps the offense out as well which was amazing with the long drives. The players are learning better this year but it's a new coach and new system to learn, and they know what they need to work on-stuff like contain and help assignments in order to have a defense that complements the offense which I think is what Kelly is trying to achieve. For example, the BYU defense against K State today came out like gangbusters forcing turnovers that set up the offense for a really inspiring team win. Then BYU special teams got in on the act and BYU was off to the races beating a team that LSU hopefully will surpass in the rankings this week. LSU has the players and the potential to gel into a defense like that, and I think it's doable this year IMO. Only time will tell.

He is spectacular and talented, especially when in an opponents' backfield, but he sometimes gets turned around in the flats on the edge, chasing a play that breaks contain which he might could've stopped or at least funneled to inside help.

We gotta believe that our team is gonna win. Tiger stadium is hard to play because even the fans bully visiting teams.

By rule, the home team must wear the dark jerseys unless the opponent agrees to a swap. Most of the time the opponent says ok, on occasion they do not give consent. Today was one of those days.

Coach Kelly was short tempered tonight. I think he is getting frustrated because he sees the possibilities like shutdown defense in the second half because the players are doing their assignments. Why can’t they do that from the opening whistle? I’m getting tired of these people who gripe about what we’re paying him. His agent negotiated a contract that was largely driven by the market for winning college coaches. I don’t blame him for trying to get the best deal. If a winning team could be bought Texas A & M would be the national champion year in and year out. Brian Kelly has done a good job rebuilding a program that was dropped on its head by the previous coach and athletic director (not Scott Woodward, the other guy). Do I think the Tigers will win the national championship this year, no, but I think they will surprise a lot of people with how well they do. Geaux Tigers!!
