Good Morning MissMaryHDream, thank you for the comment - Bacon works so well wrapped around other things ! and it sounds like you have some good memories of Cooking in School - I did Cookery instead of Woodwork ! happy days - Wishing You a Lovely Tuesday :-)
Funny enough Graham I bought a pack of these yesterday along with an extra tasty chicken roast in the bag from Aldi ,so with the vegetables and microwave mash and carrot and swede mash they do my mother and I are having a practice Christmas dinner. But please be aware those roast in the bag chickens are not suitable for freezing .So I am glad I didn't get one for an emergency Christmas dinner if we do go to my sisters and yes nothing beats homemade pigs in blankets, I personally prefer to buy sausage meat and hand roll it into sausage shapes and wrap smoked streaky bacon around it ,but if I am lazy just wrap the bacon around proper butchers thin sausages 👍👍🐖🥓🐖🥓
Good Morning Robert , thank you for the comment - I have to say that I really do like the Extra Tasty Chicken in bags and to be honest I find all the Aldi Chicken palatable - you can make a decent Christmas dinner for very little money in both Aldi and Lidl - I agree with you about using sausage meat which I also use with Chestnuts in Stuffing and home made is the best without doubt - These Pigs in Blankets from Aldi are possibly the best shopped bought ones I have tried to date and the price is a steal when you consider the cost of streaky bacon and sausage these days ! Christmas will soon be upon us and it seems to get more expensive every year ! I remember the days when you were grateful for whatever present you got where these days the younger generation come with lists of what they want ! I still love to hear the Brass bands playing Christmas Carols but sadly the local shopping centre banned Christmas Carols last year for fear of offending people ? Times have changed and in many ways not for the better ! Have a great Sunday afternoon my Friend :-)
@@grahamjenkinson3487 yes Graham every year more of our traditions are being eroded away to cater for other cultures. But it is never that way in their cultures, well one mainly ?? 🎄🎄
Good Afternoon Siobhan , thank you for the comment - I wish I had saved some but Layla decided she was having what was left ! but that is a great idea ! this is a product worth buying ! Wishing You a Lovely afternoon :-)
I always make my own at Christmas. There's some lovely pork chipolatas in nearly all the supermarkets and wrapped in smoky rashers they're almost as nice as the main meat on a Xmas dinner 😂 Great review bro, take care 🩵
Good Morning Karlos, thank you for the comment - I enjoy making my own at Christmas too and products like these are good for those who do not have the time or can't be bothered - You can't beat them really and are always a big part of the Christmas meals - Christmas here will be cancelled this year as my Wife has to go in to Hospital for an operation and then can not do anything for 6 weeks So our Christmas will be in February ! Have a great Tuesday Bro - I hope all is well with you and the family :-)
Kate it is another treat that you are missing out on to me it is the best part of a Christmas dinner I don't think the meal would be the same without them. For me a Christmas dinner is my death row meal I only leave out cranberry sauce and bread sauce ,I just don't do them two things 👍👍🐖🥓🦃
@robertlindop9365 nice bit of horseradish sauce with beef Robert or apple sauce with pork, mint sauce with lamb or stuffing with chicken or turkey, i don't like cranberry & i've never had bread sauce 🙂👍
@@kate6038Almost perfection for me Kate I don't mind horseradish with beef but prefer as the same goes with lamb mint sauce all day long and definitely stuffing with turkey and chicken and sausage meat stuffing. But I don't do apple sauce with pork I don't know why maybe my brain says savory food for dinner and apple crumble and custard for pudding 👍👍🤔🤔
Well I think the best thing to do is make your own using Frankfurter or Bockwurst sausages just wrap them in streaky bacon and cut them into 3 when the bacon is cooked and you don't have to worry about your sausage being cooked in the middle it works a treat. I don't get why streaky bacon is more expensive these days than back bacon when I was a lad streaky bacon was always a poor mans cut but not anymore a bit like corned beef or spam the price of that is horrendous these days but times change I suppose.
Good Morning MansfieldLad, thank you for the comment - I do prefer to make my own to be honest but I know that there are those who do not have the time or can not be bothered so will buy them - in my experience these from Aldi are the best I have had to date - I know what you mean about the cost of streaky Bacon as it has certainly been elevated to a higher price - times have indeed changed and Corned Beef is a ridiculous price now as is Spam ! Will we ever go full circle and return to some form of normality in the Supermarkets or will be forced to get an allotment and grow our own foods ? have a great Sunday :-)
Good evening D+A , thank you for the comment - This is a decent product for price and quality this will take some beating ! I hope you have had a great weekend ! Love N Hugz G+A XX :-)
Good Morning Paul, thank you for the comment - The quality of these surprised me considering the cost of them just to buy the Bacon alone would have cost more ! I agree they are great with a roast and in a sandwich - have a great Sunday my Friend :-)
Happy Sunday Graham Must admit the bacon looked slightly undercooked ( for my liking ) so I may have popped them in the oven for 15 mins ? However perfect finger food for gatherings ☺️ great upload as usual 🙏🏻 Keep em coming 💪🏻
Good Afternoon WoodyWood, thank you for the comment - Bacon is one of those things that people either enjoy cooked or well done and to be honest the bacon on these was very good and an extra time in the oven would not have altered the flavour ! Excellent value for the quality of the product ! but the best way is to make them yourself - but for a party over Christmas or the New Year these would be perfect - the Lets Party range from Aldi is excellent ! have a great Afternoon :-)
I rember at school,we often had bacon wrapped around cheese and often stuffing. We made mini toad in the holesx they where delicious
