God loves marriage, it honors God, the devil hates it. There will never truly be a “right” “perfect” time for marriage. Once God gives you your person, it’s act on it by FAITH because the devil himself will do ANYTHING & EVERYTHING to stop you from getting married.

I think this can be true for some people!! Life is complicated and there are many things that can cloud our judgement. Not everybody will be doubt-free…think of every other choice you make. Some are simple, some are harder. It’s different for everyone. Hesitation, doubt, and fear are all normal-especially if you’re not blinded by infatuation and unrealistic expectations like so many people these days. Your decision should be driven by the ability to make and DECIDE that choice. Not driven by butterflies and feelings of love. Love is more than a feeling.
No disrespect, because your experience may be different! But not everybody just “knows.” That’s not realistic for everybody
I mean no disrespect I think this such an amazing couple and as a supporter for years it hurts to see him say “I THINK I found her” and that “he thinks it’s just a matter of time” when speaking of his lifelong partner like he’s just waiting for someone better to come a long. Like he’s not sure. It feels like he’s just stringing her a long. I hope I’m wrong and he doesn’t break her heart. Truthfully it seems like kcup is ready and just waiting on him to make him happy. Finding your life partner does take time and it’s a serious decision but men typically know when they find the one and don’t really waste time. Also when your abstaining it’s not really recommended to wait long because of temptations.

He doesn't want to marry her. And he's using waiting on God as an excuse. And Christianese about seasons as justification. God says he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor and blessing. There's no extended dating mandate in the Bible. I feel for her because she's giving him lots of years of her life when they both could have gone on to find the person that they feel emphatically sure about.
That is such a judgmental and wrong comment. When you commit to someone, you always “think” you found the one. There are so many people you will meet in life that you could think could be the one. But there’s not just “one”. There’s choosing. So the fact that he thinks she’s the one, he’s also CHOOSING to think she’s the one. Love is so much about choice. Life is not a fairytale. You take good with the bad and choose to love a person with all of that. So I think his answer was mature and real life. And comments like this make them question themselves when they shouldn’t. It’s their relationship, not anyone else’s.

Its different for each couple. There is a purpose for dating and a purpose for marriage. There is a time for marriage and a purpose for marriage.
How long should two people date before getting married?
My brother took 7 years to marry his girlfriend, and yes, we his family all pressured and asked why not now, but he said he knew he was going to marry her but was waiting on the time from God. He even had a ring that she didn't know about. They have been happily married for at least 12 years now with 2 beautiful children. Only God should have a say in your relationship and how it should progress.

There’s actually no reason not to be, biblically or if you are praying about it you’d know that. It absolutely does not take 3 years to know. I pray kcup doesn’t keep settling for this, you deserve someone who’s so sure about marrying you tomorrow. That’s why she’s questioning it! She would say yes to you tomorrow, or 2 years ago
Never have I ever saw in the Bible the word or the concept of “dating”. It’s us who came up with it as a society. So once God brings two people together, (like he gave the girl the guy, and the guy the girl). They already have the green light to get married. The more you wait for marriage, the more you’re likely to fall into the temptations of the flesh which would lead to fornication. If God is in the relationship, then there’s no such thing as not the right time, or fear. This is about acting on your faith and trust in God that he will be in the relationship when they take that next step into marriage.
You cannot say that if God is in it, there’s no fear. We are still human, living the experiences of our flesh. Even WITH the Lord’s presence, look at all of the trials that every man and woman experienced in the Bible. Their feelings were VERY real and very human; but God was still there. Yes, it is our decision, and God gives us that freedom. But I don’t believe God will punish us for not fully understanding His plans, or maybe taking longer than he would. Why would you rush a couple who is trying to do the right thing? If God IS their center, then why rush? Why criticize? God sees our fears and doesn’t punish us for not “taking the leap yet.” God is a gracious father, and He sees our flaws. It is just our responsibility to make sure that all of our choices honor Him! That’s what I’ve learned. I’m in a 6 year relationship, high school sweethearts, and we aren’t financially stable. There are a lot of things that determine our readiness. And it is a scary step! That’s our humanness, not God’s punishment for taking our time. God is merciful. I really respect your perspective! But I think it’s not true for everybody. God bless you. Yes fear isn’t powerful OVER us, but it doesn’t mean we will never feel it

No man or woman on this earth is perfect, no relationship is perfect,.
If you get a perfect husband or wife there will be no room for growth nor lessons to learn.
Sometimes can be positive or negative.,However,what is beautiful about this journey ,is how you handle the situation when it happens.
God is not here to call the righteous but he is here to call sinners to his glory.

To all of my young people, God is not against marriage. God created marriage. God created man and woman and has intended for us to marry and reproduce from the very beginning. Dating is a concept of man not a concept of god. dating leads to sin and sexual immorality.
It’s not a question of “is getting married an opportunity from god”, it’s a question of is this the right person. And once you find the right person, then you get married.
On the contrary god does not allow sexual immortality. That is sin and anything sinful will not enter the kingdom of God. God says FLEE from temptation !
The holy scriptures give us lots of direction, such as don’t be unequally yolked. That one’s pretty simple , it’s evaluating the person to see if they are headed in the same direction as you are.
Another Example: Isaac and Rebekah:
Isaak wanted a sign from god, he prayed and said “the girl who will give water to all of my camels is the one” He then STEPPED OUT IN FAITH and married the girl who gave water to his camels. The Bible says that We cannot please god with ought living by faith. Isaak prayed and asked god for a sign, he believed that God is faithful and he will keep his end, he did not receive a thundering voice saying this is the one when he saw her. Obviously I abbreviated this Bible story, but the message stays the same. Ask for a specific sign, fast , and then step out in faith.

I relate to you so much. Me and my family recently moved away from our home overseas without knowing the future. Moved back to the US for a short, unknown time. We've been traveling all across the country, living out of suitcases for months. It's a genuine struggle to get into the word and desire to know God's heart. Feel for you girl!
Dear KCUP, you have empathy. He does not. I dated a man like your boyfriend. I am naturally attracted to these kinds of men, being a recovering codependent and it's not easy. I remember being in love with him and him using God and religion for his bad behavior and the power of forgiveness to keep forgiving him over and over because the bible teaches to forgive 77 times...that's what narcissism does, takes the word of God twists it and re-sells it to us...all of us..codependents especially who are willing to be a groupie for them. I grew up with a distant father. Most people who had no father figure end up in relationships like the one you are in. I am not a hater of your relationship. I am writing this so that you can save yourself. I know Noah won't read the comments, but Kcup does, because she is made of the same kind that we are : An empathetic woman, perhaps codependent, but most importantly one who forgives 77 times.

I’m one of your fans and I truly try and believe God has a different plan and He works through His own time. However, there will never be a perfect time. The enemy causes “confusion,” and marriage gives a commitment forever to work and change together. If Noah is this confused for different reasons, I question if he will keep leading her on and then find the one he jumps into marriage. Take it from me, I waited and would have waited on this one guy. He never intended on marrying me. He went back to his elementary sweetheart. Men usually do know, especially after 2 years.
