I have a 2023 Toro Power Max HD 1232 that I use for deep snow when we get it. So far here in southeastern MI we only have about 3 inches on the ground. Did some blowing with my 1980 Toro 524 this morning after 2/12 inches accumulated last night. My dad bought the 524 new in 1980 along with an 824, they are still running strong. My younger brother has the 824 and uses it to clear his sidewalks. After my parents passed, I went through the carburetors and did a few things to both machines to make them ready to blow snow. Toro makes great snow blowers. The 1232 can blow powdery snow close to 60'. Last year after 8" of heavy wet snow in March, I got to test the 1232 performance for about an hour in that wet slop. The machine was still able to blow that mess well over 50' and never once did it even hint of clogging. My 524 with an impeller kit was having trouble throwing it 8'. If I had to it over again, I think I would have gone with the Toro Power Max HD 1030 just because it has the auto steer instead of the trigger steer Toro uses on their commercial snow blowers. Trigger steer works well, but the auto steer I think would have a better option for my use.
@@russellmaddock3492 The 1232 sounds like a beast! And I see many people got their Toro from parents or other relatives. It's impressive to have a snowblower work okey after 40 years. Are you gonna change your 1232 into a 1030?
@@RIMTINY1 I plan on keeping the 1232. I mainly use it for when we get hit with deep snow. The only downside of the trigger steering is when you need to make a shoot adjustment while turning at the same time. One positive of the trigger steering, your machine never makes an unpredicted move like the auto steer can at times. All in all, I am happy with the 1232, and yes, it is a beast and can blow even heavy wet snow extremely far. The Toro anti-clog system is as far as I am concerned, the best in the snow blowing industry. Toro snow blowers may not be talked about as much as Ariens, but they are just as good and, in some ways, better. "Quick stick shoot control" Hope you have a safe and enjoyable winter.

I've owned TORO snowblowers for 27 years and have had ZERO problems with them.
