Cheer Chris, We've just placed an ordered for more ingredients so expect a few more videos over the next few weeks. We're trying to push our boundaries by working on some different styles. Thanks for your support 👍

Honestly love your videos. So helpful. I use the swing top bottles as i find that easier

Hamish you are too kind. Dan uses the swing tops and yes I agree with you they are much better. However, I am too tight to buy them and use bottles that I have begged borrowed or stole🤣
Thanks for leaving the comment. Cheers 🍻

I'm still using that bottling wand and I think they're absolutely something people should buy because they save so much time and spillage. I used to use a mini tap with another bit of pipe going into the bottle but sometimes it was super hard to turn off.
Another tip is putting a torch behind the bottle if it's hard to see inside. I've had sooooo many overflows from Bengal Lancer bottles.
I actually batch Prime in the fermenter now and pour the sugar over the back of a spoon after the gentlest stir at the surface, then leave it 15 mins. I even did a test with food colouring in the priming solution to see if it would mix properly. First time I did it without the spoon and wee stir the dense sugar solution just sank in a straight line to the bottom and stayed there. I think the gentle stir might give less oxygen pickup if you do it really slowly with a wide spoon below the surface
    Cheers you lovely fellas!

Hey count, hope you are keeping well. If anyone was going to do the experiment with the food colouring you were. Not sure I'm brave enough to pour directly into the fermenter although it would save time.
With you on the torch, when inside I do it all the time using my phone. Its a great help.
Thanks for your great comments and tips.

Hi Count popped a message on brewtube official the other day for you as your comments are still disappearing when you comment on my videos and still have no idea why ? sorry . Great vid again Phil 👍🍻

@@BrewabitRick Oh bloody hell, not again. I thought that stopped, and that thing I had with line spaces all crunching together.
Can you remember how I solved it before? I can't remember if it had something to do with my putting crazy rules into ublock origin. I know I was shadow banned from a lot of channels for a long time because I was trolling flat earthers and on some channels it would look to me as if I'd posted but on other accounts the comments weren't visible.
What I'll do is next time post two comments, one with the adblock, the other with it truly disabled.
      Thanks for letting me know.

Hi, why don't you push the bottling wand on the tap of the bucket, it makes bottling much easier, I use that method for all my bottling of beer and wine. Love the videos, you guys crack me up, its a pleasure watching you two having a laugh while brewing together, keep making the videos, cheers 🍻

Hey there, thank you so much for that great encouraging comment. It really does make a difference to us. It takes about 20 hours to put one of these videos together (although the filming is always fun).
I tried putting the wand directly onto the bucket tap but it wouldn't fit... kept falling off. 😪 I have been bottling cider... video to drop in a couple of weeks after tasting.

Hi, I'm just starting to get into homebrewing and your videos have been an amazing help! I was wondering if you would ever bottle straight from the fermenter? and if not, how come? Cheers

    • @TheGingerBrewers
      @TheGingerBrewers  2 роки тому +1

Hi Iwan, that's a great queston. Dan has gone straight from the fermenter into a 40 pint keg and added the priming sugar into the keg. I guess you could bottle straight from the fermenter then add carbonation drops to each bottle....
But honestly, I use a bottling bucket just because it's easier and I can control the amount of priming sugar for different styles.
Let us know what method you end up using. 🍻

@@TheGingerBrewers thank you so much for the advice, I ended up going straight from the fermenter and it's turned out surprisingly well for my first brew but I think I'll invest in another bucket for my next brew and compare the outcome and ease of bottling. thanks again - this channel is an amazing help!

Hey guys, I have one question. I brewed my first beer yesterday, my goal was 19l /20l total, but i have got only 14l. Can I put 2l, 3l of water to mix sugar (priming sugar) in order to gain in quantity?
