Did you notice how the coral is bleaching because of the extreme heat? There was a meteorological buoy off Key Largo, Fl that measured the water temps, down 5' from surface, at 103°
People who live in Houston should not b e permitted to mention humidity anywhere else. 😀😀😀 Nice side track from your usual on-own travels; if you like cruises, there are some that go out of Galveston (I think mainly Carnival), including ones that stop in Key West. Another great video, thanks.
I think you guys missed Key West’s most famous residence, `The Ernest Hemingway House’. Also, `The Little White House’ which was residence to five US presidents. Anyway, someone @ 15:19 was sure proud of their achievement.😂

I’ve been to Ernest Hemingway’s Keywest house (1930’s) and museum and saw some of his famous 6-toed cats. 😉 he even had a huge pool which he filled with sea water.

Nice interlude you two had in Key West! Key West gets its name due to the Spanish explorers apparently having found the bones from the Native American tribes who'd used the island as a graveyard and called it 'cayo huesco' [ KYE-oh WES-koah] which means 'bone cay (or islet)'. The English misheard it and called it Key West and it proved to be the westernmost island on the chain with a reliable fresh water supply as well as the southernmost point of Florida and the continental US! Oh, its highest elevation is 18 feet AND with, just the 118 mile long Overseas Highway linking it to the Florida mainland, its somewhat vulnerable to hurricanes.Thankfully, you had excellent weather to explore the islet and the surrounding coral reefs which were amazing to see. BTW, ever wonder who decided that eating lobsters ( which look like a giant underwater bugs) would be a good idea? It must have been someone starving or on a dare! Thanks so much for taking us with you two!
You might just have to go back to Key West since you forgot to visit Ernest Hemingway’s house and also the Southernmost point in continental US. We (Carmen and Gàbor, from Toronto) do watch all your posts and enjoy very much your travels.

I hope that $160 pp kayak excursion comes with a lobster dinner. Good lord ,that's why I don't vacation in the USA. Sky high prices,low quality,and everything is privately owned.
You missed something, the whole day excursion was 160 bucks, boat, islands, kayaking, paddles etc. Pretty standard for a cruise. Cruises are extremely cheap, you pay for all the extra activities if you chose so. Beaches, state parks and national parks are not private. That’s a lot to see. But over all, I agree, you need to bust out some serious dough if you wanna travel there at a certain standard.

Florida always rains a lot basically every day off & on, to me it is s amazing I hope I can go there again I went to the keys back in 01' everywhere you went there were people who were making boiled salted peanuts loved it, people were very nice. I got a bad sunburn I put sunscreen on but still got burned bad, it was 3rd degree burns water blisters, my saving grace was Aveeno Oatmeal body wash & of course Aloe vera after sun gel. Key west at sunset there are street performers to watch & interact with, really wild at night on Dvall Street it's like Clubs, bars everywhere beal street basically like in New Orleans. There was a restaurant called Kelly's, the actor from the movie too gun with Tom cruise it was very nice Kelly migilless's you can drink there like white zinfandel, hard ice T, & the best margaritas also.
You should also check out glass bottom boat tours & Dry Tortuga's ft Jefferson it's 70 miles out in the ocean you could see dolphins swimming! you can get beer other drinks on there too. A lot of could stand up while going to the island I cannot describe how awesome it was!! You can snorkel the water looks like beautiful blue turquoise. Definitely enjoy you guys!! My son and I were down there about a week ago. The snorkeling was great but the water was way too warm to be enjoyable. You can see the coral bleaching due to the warmer water.

Key West actually looks like most of the america, wooden houses. Miami however does is not typical USA at all, we can cement houses.

You will love the Bahamas. Completely different than the Keys in FL. The proper name is cay of course and in the Bahamas that's what they are. We stayed on Elbow Cay in the Abacos for many years. The Abacos are unbelievable. Of course you won't go to that part of the Bahamas as no cruise ships go there. The islands are too small for those huge ships.

Great videos guys. I was in Key West about six weeks ago. Key West is such a cool place but so warm and humid like the tropics. Did you get to try any Cuban food in Key West? There is a big cultural influence from Cuba on Florida as you probably experienced. The Cuban food in Florida is great. I look forward to your next videos from the rest of the cruise.
