    Love your gloop warming technique! Well handled on borrowed time and shitty conditions. Respect your positivity! and well done filming amongst it all! Appreciate it! "Earth to engine!!!"

    I like your approach to boat works, you help to give people more confidence to attempt things on their own. Well done.

      Not the most fun day, but mission complete. Some local club Wednesday night races first, then to get in to what we really want to do with her. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍

    I needed to see this. My Pearson has a bit of cracking along the keel joint that I definitely need to confront before launch. Ugh….

      It’s been stressing me for months! So pleased to give her a proper look. The back end we knew was going to look bad, but know there’s never been anything pulling the two together there

    at least you had a launch lol.. me filled up the diesel tank a week ahead evening before launch i come my boat and all the diesel was floating in the bilge and yeah coronation weekend... no fuel no easy fix.. no launch lol

    • @sailingmist
      @sailingmist  Рік тому

      Holy moly!! That sounds horrific. Found out why it happened? Hole in tank? Hose?

    • @SailingAnja
      @SailingAnja Рік тому

      @@sailingmist Hole in the tank about 10mm above the drain plug.. it looks like it was an old bodge and it came completely undone, original tank sooo 49 years old.. i found a replacemtn going to made custom to fit in the locker....

    • @SailingAnja
      @SailingAnja Рік тому

      Also.. the day before filling up the tank, i cleaned out the tank, lines and filters to made sure everything was clean, tidy and not leaking then coming back a week later to find a diesel swimming pool in the bilge... boatlife!!

    • @sailingmist
      @sailingmist  Рік тому

      Ah man, that sucks. Glad you’ve found the reason though. So often that happens and a boat Gremlin just keeps hiding things

      @sailingmist  Рік тому

      Ah a fellow user of the term ‘man’ loving that! Keel bolts! 🤦‍♂️ The single most annoyingly hidden and worrying object on the planet! Considering removing and replacing at the end of this year. But still thinking 🤣

    Well done on making a great video! Interesting engine start. I've noticed that a couple other Brits start their engines the same way. Do you not have to heat up the coils for a few seconds before you turn it over?

    • @sailingmist
      @sailingmist  Рік тому +1

      Thanks got the feedback. To be honest I’d forgotten about preheating it. Was more worried that we hadn’t bled the fuel through properly, which turned out to be a reality I think

      @@sailingmist no worries, mate! I just noticed it on the Sailing Brothers channel. And on Sam Holmes... but he's a yank like me so... to each their own. I really love your content. It's fresh and authentic. Subscribed.

      Thanks for the comments, love that. As for engines, I have to admit to not knowing enough about them, and frequently forgetting what to do for the best. Maybe it’s a throwback to the dinghy sailing days with no engine 🤷‍♂️

      Well that is a very good question. In normal conditions that stuff goes off pretty quickly. We did not have normal conditions though 🤦‍♂️ Hoping that the chemical reaction continues under the water and it does it’s job
