I watch skate related content occasionally. Used to watch skateline every week for a couple of years. It's just that i don't really care that much anymore and neither do lots of people. I feel like there has been a huge splendor for several years. If there's something that i'm keen on sure, i'll give it a shot or maybe even watch, but i'd much rather just go out and skate. For me it's related to sort of retreating from my local skate scene and community, as it is all about the same shit since always and will probably stay that way forever - getting fucked up, bombing, trap lifestyle etc. I just got fed up with this. Just go out, skate, do the sesh and that's it. Not like i'm hyped to watch skate videos/content all day long, wait for the new supreme video or search through yt to find paris' edits. Gotta admire GH though, great outlook on skating. What i'm after right now is definitely shits and giggles

I feel like majer would have done well if they continued their old content when the crew was at its peak. After the drama it all fell apart till the channel dissolved... But if they kept with their formula of (go to sick skate spot...)-(get clips and bails)-(play a fucked up game of skate but with actual good skaters not like Brazil's 9th tier team.... Besides Ricky... He good lol.)-involve the fans with trick requests... That formula was tight back in the day and had potential to grow a massive brand and funnel the young braille fans to them when they grow up and move on from being entertained by Gabe screaming at a camera... And I'm not talking about majer days of Mikey and nick I'm talking Diego... Man I miss Diego's nollie heels...

GH has two parents he can mooch off of as needed in greater LA while he temporarily rents a studio or whatever he's doing. if those living scenarios are considered financially adequate then yeah they beat the YT game.

I noticed people mention the pandemic for viewership droppage, but could it be that it's distributing differently as more content becomes available? Not only were people free to watch more UA-cam content during the pandemic, they were able to create more as well. You could only really find quality skateboarding content from a select few places for a long time. Perhaps overall skateboarding viewership hasn't declined, it has just been distributed differently? Not that I have any notion of how to figure that out but I know my personal experience is that I've been able to diversify away from the typical sources of content to consume a broader range. Partially because the algorithms evolved and partially because quality content now takes on many forms and can be found in a variety of places. Maybe that's just me being hopeful that skateboarding isn't going to die 😅

Skatetheorist & Thrashtalking wouldnt exist without GH. I believe more channels like yours need to be created.
