    I enjoy your commentaries they spark a lot of thought provoking debate. Please keep honing your skill. Here’s my take on your video from today. If it is impossible for developed countries with vast amounts of resources to prevent illegal immigration, what more do you think South Africa can do to prevent illegal immigration when it is coming from all over Africa. Yes there is a need to overhaul the customs and border control of South Africa, but the bigger issue is for these countries to fix their economic and political instability. South Africa should not be compelled to provide safe Harbour for the failures of other governments. Illegal immigration puts a strain on social resources such as housing education, sanitation and healthcare. Moreover, illegal immigrants are often paid under the table and do not contribute a fair share to the tax revenues needed to provide the very same social services they utilize. It is important to view this issue with an objective not subjective mindset.
    Documentation of illegal immigrants will not solve the problem of under employment which often results from illegal immigrants who are willing to accept unreasonably low wages. Of course employers are prone to employing illegal immigrants. It is to their economic advantage, but it does not benefit the locals who cannot survive on a subsistence living wage. So the narrative should change it is not that South Africans do not want to work or choose to be unemployed. It is more so that they want to be paid a living wage that equates to the cost of their labor and provides them a decent standard of living.
    What if the roles were reversed would we be willing to accept illegal immigrants within our boarders?
    Food for thought…..

      @nomah good question.
      1. Political stability, suffering with peace is 💯 % better than no peace with lots of wealthy.
      2. Rule of law and human rights will cause people to stay in their countries.
      3. Economical growth people can't go look for greener pastures when the economy is growing, they is at least hope for job creation when the economy is growing.
      4. Stop corruption, in the home affairs, law enforcement, and in the government, you may build a fence, put solidiers whatever, where people are they is always corruption one way or the other.
      5. Respecting the will of the people their votes, their choice of leadership must be respected. Politicians must be taught the definitions of the word democracy opposited to dictorship. Voting is the constitutional rights of the citizens that is their only voice of hope.
      What we are seeing in other countries changes of the constitution by politicians not the citizens to silence citizens, this breaking the will and rights of people. Politicians must put laws that protect their citizens not themselves and their elite political minority favorites groups. Thus Dictorship. Autocratic type of leadership.

    South African government has had to spend R4 billion to provide basic education to “illegal immigrant children” in Gauteng province. This was supposedly revealed by Panyaza Lesufi, Gauteng's education boss, during a parliamentary committee meeting. Just imagine how much is spent by the whole country and we are not counting the money spent on health and others.

    • @Tariromtin

    I would like to disagree with you on this one Tariro. Each an every department has a budget. We cant take home affairs budget and use it in employment or small business enterprise etc.... i Believe that 50 million or whatever amout is meant for home affairs issues. If they decide to hire more immigration officials, up to them. If they see it necessary to deport, good for them. Issue of deported foreigners coming back through back doors that should be dealt with by SANDF as they are the ones who must protect us from terrorists and people not coming through ports of entry. So my view is, if a person come through Limpopo river they must just meet SANDF. Thats permanent solution

      The people are coming back in large numbers,and those officials who are deporting the foreigners are the ones who are coming back with them,a good example of another guy who is working at my company,he was deported in August after dropping at the border gate , the officials who transported him requested him 1500 to come back with him, African boarders are porous, even if you put stringent measures they will pass,our passport is very expensive that is why people are moving in and out of south Africa, without passport they can't afford it ,5000rands for a passport it is so ridiculous, how can we have proper papers, when things are bad in our own country, where we are not given the opportunity to articulate our rights.Boarder management are human beings, they need money and a goat always graze where it is tied on.

      @@RaphaelNgwenya-cc1dm this issue has been there for decades my brother, it's not starting now,and it's consuming a lot of money in the south Africans,I would reasonably think documenting these people is the best,no one is going to be after them demanding bribes,no deportation all the time which is which is straining the government budget,no official that will leave their offices going after Foreigners all the time instead of doing something profitable for the country, remember they are not only employed to do one task of chasing after Foreigners ,I am working around African countries,I go everywhere,and I think iam adding value to the economy of each and every country I am going, and iam not doing it for my family only, but to embrace others African countries as my brothers and sisters,I love them,I don't hesitate to give them my knowledge,in south Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Angola, Cameroon, Namibia Mozambique, when I get there,I am known of the good work and knowledge I am giving,no one will ask me where I come from,as I am speaking I will be in south Africa, for some tasks that needs to be done before December that will benefit south Africa and I am willing to do it with all my heart, this is why God gave me the knowledge of transforming the life of other people . let's embrace each other peacefully in the armpits of the law, and with the great sense of humanity rather than punishing and heatred, other countries are, people are dying that is why they are running away,no one wants to wait for death,so I understand what you are saying, but put yourself in the shoes of these people and assume yourself as Zimbabwean, Nigerian or Congolese,and inside of that country physically,you would see why they they are running away.
