I have an 04 clk55 coupe and it is easily the coolest car I've ever owned. Every time i go a few weeks without driving it I am pleasantly reminded of what a finely tuned and well balanced machine it is. It's like a German mustang with a more refined engine sound and much better styling.
I’ve had my clk320 for 3 years and only drive about 100 km a week in it but love it every time I go for a drive……a tight car that handles well and just looks great when waxed!
The CLK is increasing In value! Well kept unites will become an investment overtime!! One of the most beautiful and well balanced cars ever made. The following E coupe lost the sportiness of de w209 and became a boring high end coupe. What made the CLK so special was that there where racing versions of it, and the CLK DTM is one of the most beautiful examples of this. I got myself a 350, 2008. Love the car
Finally it is time to talk about my wife's daily driver that I have enjoyed having as a weekend warrior too, 2004 Mercedes CLK 320 W209, is a practical reliable luxury car that has an excellent potential to be a daily driver, the parts are widely available and repairs are not complicated for a DIY er... please let me know down bellow what you think and I can make another video if you have questions. Thanks for Watching.
As an owner of a CLK350 Sport Cabriolet, I would suggest to any aspiring owners to go for the V8. Not much difference in running costs if you are using it as a weekender. And of course the V8 just sounds better. I’m currently eyeing up a CLK500 Sport 5.5 that I spotted. I’d need to sell my 350 but I have had her for so long and never given any major issues. Prices are low still but climbing. Decisions , decisions….😀😀
And v6 motors have balance shaft issue, I personally won't get any mercedes after 2005 because of the intake swirl flap actuator breaking and needing to spend about a thousand usd for the entire intake, the clk 99 is still a winner today even tho it's got minimal issues
I bought a 2007 CLK 280 Cabriolet Sport ltd edition AMG package in fabulous condition at 84k miles just at the point of first covid lockdown as I figured we wouldn't be flying on holiday for a long time and wanted to have local little holidays be more fun. I've done about 8 thousand leisure miles in it and it's been a joy. It feels classy, it's great to go for a day out or weekend away for 4 (packing lightly!). Using the paddle shifters I can get great manual-like acceleration. Suspension is pretty sporty even in Comfort mode and rough road surfaces are a touch harsh. Aside from regular servicing I had to fix a faulty coil, a failed siren and replace broken wiper linkage. Using independent specialist not too bad. I've got full Mercedes servicing which I'm going to keep up. There a strong possibility lovely looking examples that are well-maintained will rise further as time goes on. It does 30MPG if relaxed, it is ULEZ (low emission zone) compliant. great buy if you can pick a good one that's been well maintained.
i’m not sure if you’re going to see this but i’m looking for a first car and i found one for 4500 with 144k miles do you think it would be a decent first car?
@favpoison3296 Hi mate, it depends to the previous owner, the recent repairs and maintenance and overall condition of the car, avoid the 4 cylinders. And 144k miles is a bit high, try to find something well kept and with lower milage if you can. Avoid early 350s and 550s.
Recently bought a clk 220 cdi as my second ever car, having only passed my test 10 months ago. The size was a bit daunting at first, but i absolutely love it.
@@BenzAddiction absolutely love it. Had a polo GTi before this as my first car. Only thing I'm missing is having Bluetooth or a way of playing music from my phone. No usb or aux lead.
Clk and cl is my absolute favorite benz, I never owned a cl before but have owner and sold my clk320 04, and now daily a clk 320 99 cabriolet, since the cabriolet cover latch was leaking, the mercedes dealership wanted 3k to fix it, and I fixed it myself for 200 dollars used latch, and it's still a winner today
@Vaughn Kelly when Mercedes switched from 320 to 350 and 500 to 550, in 2005 both engine were reported later with premature timing chain and tensioner issues, bur Mercedes sorted this issues later on after 2007.
hello might as well try asking i just got my clk320 2003 and it has its dashboard numbers not lighting up the arrows and data screen works perfectly. is there maybe setting that turns it on?
Great Daily Driver, also these CLKs are now so cheap that they make awesome investments as they will only go up in value, specifically the V8, CLK500, CLK55 or CLK63.
@Brysxn depends on the year of the 550, generally early years of 550 had the timing chain issues, and the premature wear, might be sorted by now, but to be wary... of course 550 is higher performance engine compared to 500. Makes extra +80 HP.
Thankyou for this video I enjoyed it and found it very helpful. I am after a CLK, ive looked at a 350 and a 500 however they was both too high milage and not the most looked after. As i am struggling so much to find one i have started looking for 280 or 320 too. You sold the 320 for me in this vid, i just need to find one !! Thanks
I have a ’03 CLK 500 and I have to say, I am surprised by the fuel economy. I have managed to average 9,8 Liters/100km. Now this is really good for an engine from the late 90s. But I drive it very gently. However if you decide to kick it, you shouldn’t be surprised by an average of over 15 - 20 Liters.
Great video and I totally agree with you! I was looking to buy a CLK for a good while here in the UK as my first car, because they looked like great value for money and still somewhat stylish and fun to drive, but I ended up buying a 2006 ML 320 CDI, which obviously offers more practicality as a family car...hopefully it was a good decision, but I was wondering if you have had the chance to drive one of them, and if you did, what did you think of it? I subscribed to see more Mercedes related content, keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Thanks my friend for positive feedback, I have done many mechanical works on w164 and I have visually compared it with a GL Class, the video is on my channel too and I think they are very solid SUVs and these days they are bargain, basically here in Australia their price is 1/3 of a similar Toyota (prado for example) I think you have made a great choice, good luck and keep coming back, cheers.
