- James Robert "Bob" Wills (March 6, 1905 - May 13, 1975) was an American Western swing musician, songwriter, and bandleader. Considered by music authorities as the co-founder of Western swing,[ he was universally known as the King of Western Swing (after the death of Spade Cooley who used the moniker "King Of Western Swing" from 1942 to 1969.)

My husband loved Bob Wills and all his music. Hubby passed away almost 6 years ago and I still listen to this music that I learn to love. My husband was from Muleshoe Texas a true Texan he was.

Whenever I drive by the city of Tulsa, I sing this song very loud.
Love this music. Thankfully its in the original format so the people look normal.
His phrasing never fails to fascinate me!?!
I have his last album. He died shortly after finishing it. RIP Bob Wills.
Thanks, I also proud I got to see them live
Love this so much! Reminds me of my Dad and his friends picking and singing way back when.

Not a hint of any inter fidle competition. The opposite in fact. Hes a fiddler amo g equals .no 2nd fiddles. Just schoolboy banter .fun . Fun. With a cigar. From the most simple basic songs he gets maximum creativity & improvisation. Fresh air music. 😊😅😊😂

One correction: * Let me off at ARCHER, I'll walk down to Greenwood. The corner of Archer and Greenwood was the center of the African American neighborhood of Greenwood (the site of the Tulsa race massacre in 1921). There was a whole other music scene happening in Greenwood while Bob Wills was broadcasting from Cain's Ballroom in the white part of town.
There is one more verse that needs to be done
