Dark couple - SasuSaku: Sakura, Sasuke tried to kill her twice, why would she get with him? potentially more since it was twice in the same fight. I know Sakura tried to kill Sasuke but she couldn't do it. What The Fuck couple *Excuse my profanity* - NaruHina: Naruto shows no signs of loving Hinata in Shippuden and ignores her confession she had during the Pain arc. Naruto's love for Sakura has to be excused for NaruHina to happen. Naruto is told his love for Sakura is like his love for ramen, and a GENJUTSU is used to make Naruto LOVE Hinata. Naruto didn't care about Hinata until the genjutsu. it's a cop-out. Naruto had a higher chance of staying single than of getting with Hinata in my opinion. I feel like if Sakura got with anyone else Naruto would stay single, going the road of Jiraiya. WARNING! Narusaku rant ahead! NaruSaku: Sakura certainly hits Naruto more than some people would like, but it's mostly in part one, with Shippuden Sakura hitting Naruto only when it has a reason (Normally). Not to mention it has more on-screen development, or on-panel development for the manga, which by the way, is the only relevant development. Let's start with Sakura's reasons to be with Naruto instead of Sasuke from a standpoint disregarding Sakura's actual feelings for a second. This doesn't mean that these wouldn't contribute to Sakura loving Naruto, but I'm excluding any feelings for this portion. Naruto has saved Sakura more times than anyone cares to count while expecting nothing in return, most of those times could have killed an average shinobi too. Sakura is also a huge reason, not the only reason mind you, why Naruto was going after Sasuke in the first place. Onto the ships that parallel NaruSaku: MinaKushi, Naruto acts like a mixture of his parents, a prankster like his mother, and serious in situations that call for it like his father was. Sakura is almost an exact copy of Kushina. KizaMebu, Sakura's parents: Kizashi is a goofball and could have been a prankster like Naruto was as well, although that isn't known. Mebuki is like Sakura, no explaining is needed there. ObiRin: Rin is very obviously meant to be a copy of Sakura, yes she is first in the timeline but was thought up later, so this still works. Sakura fangirled over Sasuke, ignoring Naruto's feelings, and Rin fangirled over Kakashi, ignoring Obito's feelings. Obito is also a carbon copy of Naruto, Naruto loved Sakura and made it known while Obito kind of did the same thing with Rin. The only reason ObiRin failed, in my eyes, is the fact that Rin died. Rin's death affects Obito so much that he becomes a villain. The only other failed NaruSaku parallel is JiraTsuna, which again, is failed because Jiraiya died before Tsunade could confess to him. All of the parallels point to Narusaku failing only if one of them died. I guess you could say Naruto's character was killed during the last movie. I don't even need to explain this, look at Naruto is Shippuden, happy. Naruto in Boruto, sad and tired, always at his office. It's like Naruto's character was drastically shifted to fit the NaruHina ship, oh wait, I talked about the GENJUTSU and Naruto's love for Sakura being treated as if it was LIKE RAMEN. I don't care what anyone says, Naruto loves Ramen, but he wouldn't be willing to die for it, nor would he dream of kissing ramen or any of the things he ever wanted to do with Sakura. Sakura is over Ramen in Naruto's eyes. That would normally make sense for anyone else. However, Naruto loves ramen more than either of his parents, in my eyes at least, I can't be certain of it. Ramen was the first food Naruto was offered, before then he probably had to scrouge through garbage to get food, obviously not having money to buy any other food. Now, onto Sakura's feelings, since Naruto's are obvious and need no explanation, unless you watch Boruto first, in which case, watch Naruto to get your explanation. Sakura's feelings for Naruto - Classic - First few episodes: Naruto is annoying and is someone she hates. - Land of waves: Commrade/Teammate - Remainder of Classic: Friend/Only remaining teammate (Excluding sensei) - Shippuden - reunion: Sakura blushes at how Naruto seems more grown up and asks if she looks more womanly, there are two interpretations. One, this is just something Sakura would ask, or two, Sakura asks Naruto because she likes him a bit now. Confused/Friends - Kazekage rescue mission: Sakura is more concerned about Naruto than about Gaara when Gaara is the one that is captured. - reunion with Sasuke: Sakura goes to try and stop Naruto from rampaging and gets hit with one of his tails (Four tails Naruto -Kyuubii controlled) Naruto reverts to himself and Sakura starts healing him cueing the lines from Yamato, translated from SUB, not the English adaptation: It's not important whether the things you do are large or small. What matters is the magnitude of feelings you have for Naruto. Sakura, I can tell that when I look at you. You truly... and the rest of it is never heard, but it's quite clear that he was hinting toward Sakura caring about Naruto deeply, or loving him. Not to mention Sakura's facial expressions. Naruto is unconscious, Sakura is saddened/worried about Naruto. Naruto gains consciousness, Sakura gasps and then smiles while crying tears of joy. this, in my eyes, shows that Sakura loves Naruto, however, she still loves Sasuke, as seen later in the arc. Loves/Confused I could go into the later arcs, but I'm going to stop here since this has probably been at least half an hour of me ranting about NaruSaku. I may reply to my comment to continue this tomorrow, but I need to sleep. it's midnight right now and if I go on with all the other key moments I'd be here for hours. Plus I haven't exactly finished the Naruto series and this is just what I remember, aside from the Yamato speech, I went back to episode 44 of Naruto Shippuden for that.

The only reason Kishi changed his plans and made NH endgame is because it was more popular. It's very very obvious that NH was originally planned to be endgame for a very long time and that it was changed to NH rather late.
