There’s plenty of people with father figures that still choose the streets.
If they want to kill people, like one former gang member said on Big Herc's channel Fresh Out, go join the military. You can do it legally, you get paid to do it, you get great benefits, they pay for your education and there's a good retirement plan. There's no good retirement plan for being in a gang-unless you consider death or prison a retirement plan. Obviously, a lot of the dudes in gangs wouldn't get into the military because there are also a lot of requirements that you have to meet in order to get in and it's definitely not for everyone and if people don't like being told what to do then it's definitely not for them but I do think that a lot of these young men who would rather be a killer and who are basically wasting their lives and throwing their lives away would be better off just giving the military a shot. People can say that you'd be fighting for the government and doing their dirty work and all that but I still think that it's infinitely better than being in a gang.
