I tend to agree with you. My father passed away in his will he left me his property (house) the will is valid and contains everything needed from a legal standpoint. My siblings filed a caveat contesting the will. The court scheduled an informal hearing which the judge informed my siblings that they needed to appear with an attorney at the formal hearing he also stated that I didn’t need to do anything because all of my paperwork was correct he then stated that I needed to have an attorney as well because he’s going to ask me the same questions that he would ask an attorney and if I can’t answer them that’s on me. I don’t know what questions he could possibly ask me that I wouldn’t be able to answer therefore I am hesitant about obtaining an attorney but on the other hand I’m scared to appear without an attorney. I feel that kickbacks or fees are given to the judge/magistrate. I don’t have money for an attorney but I’m scared if I show up without an attorney the magistrate will not rule in my favor because he’s not making money off of my case but he’s getting a kickback from my siblings attorney.
My sons father passed away in 2016. I was in my 20's and knew nothing about probate, wills, or anything else. I now found out that my sons father's mother had me sign a document she said was to set an account up for my son. I asked her if i could take it & read it. She started crying & showing me my then fiances autopsy & explained to me after she needed it by tomorrow & to trust her. I signed it now 2023 I found out through a mutal friend of my then fiance that she had a court hearing in regards to life insurance & had it transferred to herself. I am so shocked that someone could do something like this! My worry is that there will be nothing left for our son when hes 18. Is there anything i can do about this?
I would contest that you were not properly guided by a legal representative. Declare you original intentions and state that you want to continue your original intentions. (I don't know how probate is but in real estate investing, you have to have a legal representative in certain states before anything can be signed. The intentions behind this is to look out for the public consumer that is not well versed in this sector. ) It shows that you do not agree to what you signed. You need to go to court and let her explain her intentions. Usually people that do what she didn't are not really knowledgeable in the whole spectrum, only in their intentions. Find out what her intentions are versus what the paper trail actually shows. I don't know if you could even contest something you signed off on but try to contest it. It can paint a picture of deceptions. I'm not a regal expert I'm just an analytical logical thinker. I think your stands should gear towards not being guided by a state licenced legal representative. I think that is what you need to ride with!!!!Take it a step further and show that you have the means for a legal representative but was not aware that what is accessible or needed in all seriousness.
I'm currently doing what's called a "set aside" for my grandpa's estate. He didn't have any real property but money in the bank of about $87k. I only have 2 siblings. Can they really steal my share??
@robinthrill3r7 they sure can if they're evil and greedy enough but, you can prevent that. Only you know how your siblings behave. You would be surprised how loved ones behave when it comes to money. Do everything possible to ensure that doesn't happen and have a lawyer you can trust.
My mom died in 2002 and my little sister forged a will and got her mother-in-law to lie in court and say that this was my mother's signature because she did her insurance funny how money brings people together considering that pat shaw testified in court that her daughter-in-law was unfit to raise her grandson in court later Alexanderia Ladel Torian gets arrested for involtary manslaughter! This happened in Texas probate Dallas my sister sold the 87,000 house at 10522 Castle Rock for 50 cents on dollar later she manipulates my older sister to take out a 450k life insurance policy on her she buys her several cases of dr pepper and cartons of cigarettes for her and she waits when my older sister died her children had to pay for the funeral because little sister was in jail for insurance fraud she never took any of the money to pay for the funeral! That was Dallas 2015!
Our sibling forged our parents Trust cost 25% in litigation when the Estate Planner ran like a chicken, so next time around we’re getting the NICER forger proof estate plan with permission validation ledgers.
Probate attorneys take their time, don't communicate, figure out ways to run up the tab...........and they know all the other probate attorneys in town. A misspelling on a document (court's fault) cost me about $1000 to fix with the attorney filing a Nunc Pro Tunc form. The courts themselves are made up of government employees who punch a clock.
Corrupt judges and attornies are getting rich by stealing.
Truth!!!

IN MY VIEW
I love the judges necklace. I have one with smaller stones that I lovingly call my "Wilma Flintstone' necklace.❤
Use a NICER forgery proof estate plan with a permission trust validation and certification team of professionals.
What's the name of the website for California, please ?
Why doesn't a grand jury indictment mean anything? A grand jury indicted a sheriffs deputy and somehow that don't mean sxzs.
We live in a culture of corruption!
sCIENTER! sCIENTER! SORRY ALERGIES, SO ALERGIC TO FRAUD-
If your sibling is disabled in long term care.you’re in a protected class that saves you from Medicaid estate recovery
Why do they take years to complete??
Difficult uncooperative family members and no Will.

Corrupt, theft greed by strangers
Funny folk just tried to kill me and omit telling me anything to keep everything. Put life insurance on me and add themselves on my benefits
My ex TRIED this with me! I was HORRIFIED to say the least!
❤
My amber would watch me to have her money
