Great review. Not in the market for a new backpack this season, but looks like an excellent and well thought out design. I need to figure out a better way to organize my platform and sticks for late season so I have room in my pack for a heavy jacket.
How are you running your camera arm and other video gear? Also, how are you taking your saddle into the woods? Thanks and I really appreciate your content!
Thank you! I appreciate that.
I put my camera arm and camera when I carry it in the main pocket. If I run out of room (which is rare) in the last season, I will put my camera arm in the Sherman Pocket.
As for my saddle, I wear it in.
This seems to be just about perfect, I’m coveting a shapecharge real hard.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors how do you pack out meat with it? I'm on the fence between this and a frame pack.
@MikeJones-vb1me, you can load the meat in the main compartment, but I personally don't. If I'm going back far enough where I think I'll have to pack something, I will bring a frame back.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors that’s what I was figuring too, I guess the Stryker xl is pretty much the same thing on a frame
@MikeJones-vb1me the shape charge has more cubic in of storage and better organization compartments but they are pretty close in size.
You could also add the shape charge to a frame if you like that bag better.
I don’t know, I guess I dont see the value in this one for most whitetail hunters. It just seems like there are a ton of similar packs that fit everything you showed just as well for significantly less money. I could see it if you’re hiking deep in and packing an animal out, but this one doesn’t have a great system for packing a quartered out deer out either. If it’s what floats your boat that’s cool but something like an X2 does everything this does for $100+ less.
I agree. This pack wouldn't be the best for packing meat out, but the quality and warranty offered by Kifaru are unbeatable, in my opinion. However, it's all a matter of personal preference. I scored this bag secondhand and saved a ton of money.
But yes, there are packs for less. I use an Orca Tactical with my LWCG .5, and it has served me well over the years, and it's only $35.
$475 😢 I did want one. You had me sold and also almost killed by my wife.
They are expensive. If you join the Kifaru FB page, you can score some used ones for a lower price, but you have to jump on them fast because they go quickly.
My First Lite this,my first lite that, my under armor.....who gives a damn about the brand
Nice pack. That’s a lot nicer than my camel back I’ve been running for years. Just bought my first Firstlite jacket, glad to see you like them too.
Thank you. The FL Source is awesome. Keeps me warm until about mid-December and then I'll toss a puff on under it.
