The judge did just what he should do. Bridges is a notorious bro-repper and failed to hit depth on his pistols. Kudos to the judge because he did his job properly.
Iiiii don't know. He is clearly stronger in his lift side than his right, but from the angle the camera shot on his right side it didn't look like he was getting below parallel on all those reps. I think the ref made ok calls.
The most interesting thing on this event for me is that EVERYBODY is doing push jerks not push presses. Except one guy. Guess who? Fraser. Which begs the question: how the judges did not see that? How the Head Judge did not see that? Everybody is clearly bending their knees.
The movement was a shoulder to overhead. Not a push press. The part at the top was wrong. The reason Fraser push pressed half of his reps was because it wasn’t very heavy for him and push pressing is faster

I know! The commentator saying not to go faster because they have to arrive to push presses as strong as they can but, they just have to do 20, and they have been practicing a lot
Is there actually a standard for chest to bar pull ups because it seems to depend on each individual athlete as to how high their chest goes to complete a rep. Some are almost hitting the bar and others are nowhere near high enough to touch the bar. In some cases, there is over a foot of difference in the height.
Zach Carchedi did 67 unbroken. The pull ups are my only real issue with crossfit. Imagine how much more taxed they would be if they cut the number in half but made them do strict deadhang pull ups.
@@williamharrison632 not really talking about the games themselves, but crossfit in general. Most of it is interesting to me, and I've done it on several occasions when invited. Butterfly pull ups are just so much less effective than a properly done pull up.
@@ACrossland22 yeah I agree, but I guess that’s the way it’s done at CrossFit, if you are training pull-ups then strict are better but if you are training for CrossFit the butterfly pull-ups are better. I train both as I do CrossFit

Lower back hurt watching this! I had abs day yesterday. 150absrep /100 pull ups/100push ups and boxing 🥊 and some other weight stuff. Everyday, all day training. Maybe one day I will compete.
Judging was terrible in this event. Nearly everyone is doing push jerks instead of push presses and yet they are not getting no repped. They are not doing the prescribed work yet they get counted as complete
Called pull-ups for simplicity, they're actually butterfly pull-ups. The movement changes from a strength exercise, to conditioning. Once you get decent at them, you lungs will burn before your lats/bis/forearms.
I would get sooooo pissed off at the judge. He’s giving no reps when Josh was clearly doing good form - also why do the judges act sooo keen. Like they bow their heads on every rep, like surely they can see just as easily if they athlete is doing the rep properly without the judge acting like a chicken eg: 1:25:11 also I don’t like Dave Castro
OK...so I just checked the 2011 competition where the swim/beach event included chest to bar pull ups. It was still kipped but a vast improvement on the 'non' pull ups evident here.

In some events, yes. In other events, no. Rope climbs, rowing, and box jumps are all better suited for tall athletes. And even if it's uneven on average, who cares? There are no height divisions in gymnastics, weightlifting, track, basketball, limbo, or any other sport.
ATL45 well weightlifting is about one re maxes. I️ am talking about an advantage that come with doing many reps. A shorter athlete would be able to do certain reps faster and a taller athlete would have a considerable advantage in certain exercises as well. Plus basketball is divided by positions. You are not gonna have a six three guy guard a seven footer. And if you do that’s called a mistmatch.
I like how a good chunk of people like to comment on how much of an expert they are on pullups, yet they clearly didn't bother to do any research to find out that more than one pull-up variation exists, what is worse is they did it while sitting on their lazy butts behind a computer. Why not instead you make a video showing off your physique and then explain to us why 0 pullups were done or why the form is bad. don't worry, I'll wait.
