The faders are a really nice touch! I spend a lot of time fiddling with levels in my e-kit, it’s really hard to dial it in when it’s behind two layers of menus for each voice. The market for e-kits has gotten a lot better in the last few years. Nice review.
I was surprised at how much nicer this was than the $1,000+ options were when I was coming up.
I know it's cheap, but the problem with a unit like this is if something goes wrong with one of the pads, you can replace it, but if something goes wrong with one of the cables, you will have to replace the whole cable system altogether. I'm not even sure Donner sells replacement cable units.
I know that there have been some who have had an issue with a part arriving broken or missing, and Donner was able to send them the part they needed, so I'd hope they could help you if that were a situation you encountered, but I think you'd have to contact support, not just search Amazon.
I reviewed one a while back and thought it was very decent. My rack wasn't shaky at all though, in fact, I thought the rack was one of the most impressive things about it compared to other kits like Alesis or Simmons. The one I had was pretty rock solid. The pads themselves were heavier than average too. With some tweaking, I was able to make some pretty nice sounding kits with the built-in sounds as well.

Very good review. At the end of the day, for me it’s the rapid hit sounds that reveal how good the brain is.
Still a little to be desired, but e drums have come a long way.
I would prefer the small size tom and big tom on top and the other big Tom as floor Tom. I believe you set up the kit wrong.
All four toms pads are the same exact size. It looks odd on camera (trust me, I thought so too), but that’s more an optical illusion of your eyes seeing the two rack toms higher and closer.
You should another video review of the Ded500. There are things you forgot to cover like does the snare have the ability for rimshots/ side-sticking? How about expandability? Does the ride have bell/bow/edge sounds?
I saw somewhere that within the module you it has setting for these 3 zones I mentioned for the Ride cymbal...if you were to replace with 3 zone Ride cymbal? Would love to know these things but nobody is covering these things. Trying to make a decision which kit to buy out there? I can play drums...but noise and expense of a kit is an issue for me lol. Thanks

I can’t go back and record another video unfortunately, but maybe it’s something you should pick up, and add to the community of reviews on it. If you purchase from Amazon you have the ability to return if it doesn’t meet your standards.
