I am looking to buy my first circular saw and my instinct is to go with blade on the left and motor on the right. This way you can see the blade engage with the workpiece. I am right handed. Can you tell me in practical terms why you prefer the blade on the right (where you cannot see it engaging with the workpiece? Thanks for your good video. 😃
For me, left side blades spit wood chips under my glasses. Right side blades can be seen where the blade meets the pencil line and chips fly at an angle that is near impossible to get under my eye protection. My eyes are sapphire blue and my hope is that they are my ticket out of this manual labor nonsense. Looking for a lady with a private jet and a persistent cough.
If you are in the market for a cordless circular saw, the 7 1/4" Milwaukee runs like it's plugged into a wall outlet. Bosch makes a 7 1/4", but I'm so happy with the M18, I won't need to try it.
18V-57 GC gave me less than 5 meters cut length in 18mm OSB on a charged brand new 4.0mAh ProCore, and it was barely getting here (genuine blade), got sold hapily, looking to try the 18V68GC which is finally brushless
I have since got a 7 1/4" Milwaukee M18 Fuel. It's a vastly superior tool. I love a lot of my Bosch stuff, but they're falling off the map in quite a few areas.
Great video , I have the old bosch right side , always wondered about the European model one , i like the way it looks for the battery placement , I am waiting for Bosch to put out the right side Blade on the newer model Pro factor one , I think I might buy it , great review thanks
Try the Bosch GKS 18V 68GC - my 57GC broke (warranty refund as Bosch don't seem able to fix it) and I'll be replacing it with the new brushless 5k rpm model
I just watched a review on the 18V 68GC. They really made a great saw, even at $400. I might get it, even though I got the Milwaukee. The speed control really changes the materials it can cut!
I forgot to mention the 18V-57 shined an LED where the blade meets the cut line. Even with that, I'm still massively disappointed with the entire package.
@@GunnarsMassageoPizza , I was looking into getting the bigger one that has selectable speeds, but have been too happy with the Milwaukee to spend the money.
@@TheDwightMamba Milwaukee makes some really great tools! I use both brands. What I was told about the rpm was that the aluminium started to melt at too high rpm, clogging the teeth of the saw..? Anyways, good review, thumbs up!
Good presentation but I think you're comparing apples with pears. I just bought a 57G on Amazon Prime day, it cost about £70 and it really is aimed at people like me who are enthusiastic DIYers rather than pro's like yourself. Maybe you should have aimed at the Bosch GKT 18V-52 GC which look more like your 'pupsaw' and delivers about 5500 RPM.
Bosch now has a 7 1/4" circular saw for about $200. I would put it up against my Milwaukee M18 7 1/4" saw, but don't have a need to replace something I'm happy with.
@@TheDwightMamba Agree wholeheartedly and keep up the good work on the channel. I've now got to the stage where I want to use the left hand side of my brain after all these years on networks. So I keep looking for bit of inspiration in my new hobby and definitely find the enthusiasm and tips from you to be right up there 👍 (even if you dissed my new toy 😉).
@@tattyheid7279 , I have been neglecting this channel in a bad way. New videos are about to drop. I want to do a series on little construction tricks I've taught myself over the years.
@@tattyheid7279 , also, this little Bosch saw does get used in rotation. I like that it uses a little less battery than the beefier ones. If I'm cutting 2×4 or smaller, the 57 steps up.
Nice video... Not really into this stuff but your commentary is great so this why I watch it

The 18v-57 is the smallest Bosch saw. Try a bigger one and you will see the massive diferent.
How terrible is your vision?

More disappointed than my dad? Lmao
@@CostanTheOne , I don't have enough info to answer that.
My guess is no.
I´ve heard that the 3400rpm is better suited for also cutting aluminium (wich is what we do all the time). Don´t know if it´s true, just what I heard.

The 57 model is for Left Handed people
I find that the blade on the right side keeps wood chips from flying under my glasses and hitting me in the eyeball.
How many amps of battery you use?
4

Your blade is facing the wrong way on your old saw
Cutting vinyl soffit and siding.
Covered that in the video, but thank you for the input.
