Alien Isolation, Resident Evil Revelations and Outlast are all amazing. So many if these games are on my wishlist. Time to add a few more! Dying Light is still available on physical cartridge. Been in my Amazon basket for ages. I play Zombie Army all the time. So many good games.
Dying Light on the switch performs so good! I couldn't believe how good of a port that turned out to be. If you haven't picked it up yet, I couldn't recommend it more!
nun massacre and murder house they are great retro throwback horror games with great atmosphere and fun. As a Arizonian I can confirm that Outlast 2 is basically a autobiography on what it's like to live here.
If anyone hasn’t played the Little Nightmares series it’s a MUST, great game astounding graphic design with a terrifying ambiance a bunch of DLC’s too part 3 is rumored to come out 2025 it can’t come sooner for me
Darkwood was an absolute work of art. Been hoping Fatal Frame gets a another sale soon. But no Friday the 13th love? Or did I miss it? Always preferred it’s online play to Dead by Daylight. Games with buds are beyond fun.
I would also recommend Sagebrush for this season, it's short but interesting. It's about exploring an abandoned cult compound and piecing together the story of the cult and what relationship your character had with it
Do you know what was unexpectedly scary? The underground tunnels level in the original Uncharted game (in the abandoned Nazi submarine base in the Amazon). Frig! From cinematic jungle treasure searching to suddenly running like hell in dark, claustrophobic tunnels from genetic freaks... I nearly crapped my pants the first time.
Prodeus is soon coming to Switch on 7th October...already enjoying it on my SX...Very much gore and just so much fun to play in general...definitely no title for children, so it kinda fits to this list as well.
I'm happy to say that I have played most of what was on the list. DARKWOOD is a masterpiece in my opinion and no one should go without playing Alien Isolation. Perhaps another 2 honorable mentio s would be Syndrome (similar to The Persistance) and if you like zombies then I would add Death Road to Canada, lol, it's a fun, fast paced adventure that you can play with friends.
@@grey3414 The majority of my Switch playtime is in handheld and I have never had a problem with it. Wait for a good sale and I know you won't be disappointed.
Thanks for all the spooky games recommendations! I've had a hankering for horror games since yesterday. It's like you read my mind! But seriously I'll be picking some of these up when they go on sale! 😁
@@q.t.gamingfamily very old resident evil vibes. You need to use cassette tapes to save your games just like the limited ink ribbons in resident evil, so be aware of that. But the monster designs are terrifying and the sense of dread and needing to escape is strong. High recommend. Catch it on a sale for sure. I've seen it as low as, I want to say $12 at some point, maybe on PSN though.
I'm so bummed I missed the huge sale on The Persistence, was like 3 dollars but now it's like 30 dollars. Missed it by a day. Hoping it gets the same sale again soon.
@@SwitchCorner That would be nice. I haven't played a horror game that actually had me on edge since R.E.7. Played that alone at night in the middle of nowhere and I had to stop few times because I kept creeping myself out.
Lol, I bloody hate horror games honestly, the channel made me force my way through them, I’m more of a ghostbusters guy, otherwise, every light is on in my house! The sci-fi spin though took the edge off for me though honestly, same with movies like Alien or Event Horizon
Outlast games were legitimately scary to play and I watch a lot of horror movies... Little nightmares were really good games too and they're as scary and creepy as a side scroller can get.
Great list Alex, I think you need to try the Puppetcombo games, Nun Massacre and Murderhouse are out and Bloodwash is coming next week.. Amazing PS1 Nostalgia mixed with 80's Slasher movies. If I ever needed someone to trust me, it is with this request.
I have and love most of them, among other games on Switch in the horror theme. I have always loved the genre, to me it started with Alone in the Dark the New Nightmare on the Game Boy Color (I had no tv as a child). When I got my first summer job money at 16 and bought a tv and a used Gamecube, the first games I got with it (also used) included Resident Evil and RE 0. Eternal Darkness shortly after. Wind Waker that came with OoT, and shortly after the Zelda Collection disc with Majora's Mask on it as well. And Luigi's Mansion. I know these are not horror games, but they definitely have some REALLY creepy moments, and that's what I love. They can keep their jump scares and all out gore, atmosphere is where it's at. Later I got a PS2 as well, and as all horror fans know, PS2 is the best horror game system. And later still a Wii and PS3 which also got some great horror games if you dig deep enough in the pile of bad games.
Alien: Isolation, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, Resident Evil Revelations, and Resident Evil 4. Also the Upcoming Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. Plus all the other Resident Evil games but personally I think Resident Evil Revelations is the best RE game I’ve played in a long time. Revelations 2 is good too but the 1st is the best. Resident Evil 4 because I didn’t play it until the switch version. I know people think it’s a 3rd person shooter action game but I still think it’s survival horror. It’s really damn good. Yeah and Luigi’s Mansion 3 isn’t a horror game. I miss the old classic survival horror and these are my list of the top ones. Fatal Frame isn’t the best franchise but it’s the closest thing the switch is going to get. The genre is pretty much dead now. So unfortunate! That new fatal frame is something to get ready for though!!!
Don't Be Fooled By A Top Down 2D Horror Game. DARKWOOD Is Far The Scariest Horror Game I've Ever Played In Nintendo Switch. Much Scarier Than Outlast Or Amnesia, Much Longer Than Alien Isolation, And Much Fun And Interesting Than Alan Wake, Subnautica, And Resident Evil Series. The Random Night Events Alone In DARKWOOD Gives Me Serious Tension And Goosebumps So I Always Praying For A Quick Daytime. No Cheap Jumpscares, Just Pure Horror Survival. 'Little Nightmares 2" Is Also Fun, Cute, And Creepy At The Same Time, Especially The Teacher And The Thin Man.
how nice Dead By Daylight/World War Z/Fatal Frame/Secret Neighbor and so many more best games on Switch seems i will finally play all these in the video and probably add in Addams Family/Remothered and some more if only Halloween was more than a month long but least play even after Halloween to :D if only the new Fatal Frame was releasing this month to instead of next year :/
Im a spineless worm. So scary games are definitely not for me. Good thing not all games in this list is truly scary. Will definitely get Carrion someday though.
Still trying to guess what country Alex is from, considering the wrong/weird pronunciation of words sometimes which denotes that he's not a native English speaker. Which is totally fine, but I am curious...

I'd include Omori
That game literally gave me nightmares
“Silver Chains” “Of Sound Mind” “Tormented Souls” “Monstrum”
My first thought about the title was "50? You sure?" Then I checked the almost 30mins length.."ah yes, 50 it is" 🤣

You are right, fantastic game, I loved the visual style!
It's more psychologically scary. I completed it and there really wasn't any horror but the story was good.
“Silver Chains” “Of Sound Mind” “Tormented Souls” “Monstrum” “Paratopic” “White Day” “Madison” “Ikai”

I don’t know if cult of the lamb qualifies as a horror game , it’s cozy horror in my opinion 😅
I would consider it horror themed, I didn't want this list to be only scary horror cause that's not the case!

I just finished Madison. Recommended despite the frame rate issues on Switch and over reliance of jump scares.
Evil tonight should be in there...

Super Lone Survivor just came out, and it has more content than the Lone Survivor Director's Cut Wii U version.
