❤ lovely video @steve
Well in mate smashed it as per 👌🏽🎣 great watch
Love it 🎉 love it 🤩 loooove it🫶
Nice insight. Didn’t think you were allowed to use drones at Linear?
Permission whilst filming, using a 249g drone and flying under the altitude limit for the area and within the the CAA guidelines, qualified drone operator and registered drone. Hope you enjoyed the film 🎣👍
@@SteveHillAngler brill. So am I, I’ll ask for permission next time I’m vlogging down there. 👍🏻
Why would you want to use a drone on a puddle like tar farm ?
@@quabarb4547 for aerial footage of the complex.
why isnt he using the magic twig?
Was using a method and setup that at the time of filming was available to everyone, tight lines!
good video, but the colour grading needs work, very distracting
Thanks for the feedback, will pass that back to the editor. Cheers
Yeah the color grading is really quite distracting. Looks like a dream sequence from a Hollywood film.
sorry about that @@dylandestpern3783 guess it was a summer vibe on a summer film, hope you enjoyed it still and thanks for the support. Tight Lines
@@SteveHillAngler still quality content! And I'm sure the editor had their reasons! I watched the whole video. Great stuff! Thank you. I hope I did not offend anyone with that comment. I think it might just be helpful for the next one.
Why not tie the same knot but with a loop in the braid also? Then your loop in the braid is already there? Use it as a slip d. Means only one knot and a lot neater!
it certainly is an option Ollie, I like to have the braided section really supple and find if i do as you suggest then the doubled over section becomes less supple and in my opinion less effective, I have also found that doubling over the braided section can rarely cause the hook to flip over on itself, had it happen a couple of times but if the braided section is much shorter like 5-10mm then it can be very effective too. Thanks for the comment and tight lines!
Quality watch, very insightful! Top angling 👌🫶

Has the magic twig been banned?
Not at all, can be used across the entire Linear Fisheries Complex including Tar farm, tight lines!
Banned on all my waters, not that I’d use it anyway
There was a time that I fished linear; permitting this horror/fixed anchor on their waters against the critical mass of obviousness and sensibility tells me and everyone else all we need to know about that venue.
@@SteveHillAnglerthat's a shame, I'd have thought linear would have more care for their fish.
the EA have made a statment saying anybody caught using it could face a fine of upto £50.000
How many rods do most use on a typical session? I’d say 3 - typical sales technique to sell rigs in pairs meaning you’d have to pay for two packs. It’s not very clever as we know why and I’m sure there’s enough money being made already. Just like the new “marmite” rig packs of 2?! Come on, look after your anglers. I’m just glad I’m happier to tie my own, but to newer anglers is off putting and just thinking about the
💰🤏🏽
a lot of anglers, use two rods, the minimum rods you will see on a carp fishery is two, hence why they are sold in pairs, most people will by a couple of packs so they have spares should they dull the hook or need to change the rig over, the same can be said for three rod anglers they buy a couple of packs so they have spares, its quite rare for someone to just have three rigs for a weekend session. I totally get where you are coming from but its very hard to please all the people all the time whilst keeping tackle accessible for the younger generations too. Thanks for watching the film, hope you enjoyed it. Tight Lines.
But the ready made spinner rigs (without boom) sold in packs of 3? (The easiest things to construct ever)
I actually really like the like some of the terminal tackle from OMC. I’ll definitely be trying the rig putty as that’s always a bugger, especially in colder months, but this stuff sticks to anything so … why are the dog bone sinkers there? 😉 Plus I like the little coloured aligners, they’re pretty cool for a bit of a visual along with the blob things, serving two purposes - like it!!
It must be very hard to try and come up with something that stands out from other major players in the game and even the lesser known companies are getting in on end tackle too now and I think OMC will be a strong contender amongst the top 3 or 4 I’d say.
A lot of fishing tackle is all about sales and marketing! 😜 Ali is a smart man as I’m sure the team all are! Be good to see it go well for Ali and all you guys on the team.
I’ve spoilt myself with French fishing recently so without sounding silly, I’m just after the big uns at the moment but I need to appreciate the smaller fish too.
It’s also nice to see him plugging the helisafe system too from Korda, as it really is the best drop off system out there. it’d be nice if they reciprocated that with some of his stuff, but now being rivals I can’t see it, and I definitely can’t see it being the twig rig or “marmite” rig as I’ve aptly called it. Nice video Steve, nice fish in Tar farm aren’t they.
