if you haven't already, you should flip the grey clutch lever on your derailleur for less chain slap. you would keep it on that position standard unless for wheel swaps or if the chain comes off
Coool! Been thinking about doing that too. The tires are great and so so i think i will run them for a while. Can you feel any difference or is it mostly to skip pinch flats and such?
@@that_squires_guy I'm gonna order a bike from chainreactioncycles this Thursday. The Nukeproof Scout 290. These Nukeproof scout bikes are essentially the same as the vitus sentiers in terms of both geometry and specs. Only reason I went with this over the sentier is that it comes with a dropper... But is slightly more expensive as a result. Saves me from having to buy my own separately, which I would have done anyway if I went for the sentier
@@that_squires_guy Its definitely going to be the race (midrange) model. Tbh I can't decide between the 275 and the 290. The classic wheel size debate. I am leaning toward the 290 after talking to a few people who ride the trails near me (southeast Michigan). Honestly I'm sure I'd 100% love either wheel size so I'm probably overthinking this :P
@@that_squires_guy I read that the 290 can accommodate 27.5x2.8 tires, but anything smaller (like 2.6")will begin to drop the bottom bracket, which is already low on these slacker modern geo bikes. I don't want to be getting lots of pedal strikes. I think ill go with the 290 and then get a second pair of 27.5 rims with 2.8" tires at some point in the future.
What do you think of the 2020 Sentier VR with the Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork for $1249? Looks like the Sentier is a little bit pricier than the 2018 model.
You know what puts me off those stupid open sections of gear cable! I mean why are they there?just more places to let crap into. I live in UK and we have mud lots of mud, full cable outers are a must in my opinion.
At 5:50, semi slick tire in the back? You generally do a very good job on your research, but homes that ain’t no semi-slick tire...less aggressive tread, maybe, but it surely isn’t semi-slick...
I remember in your video previous to this you were going from a large frame to this new bike medium frame; good decision? The medium frame the right choice? What is your height? Sweet bike!
@@that_squires_guy The best dogs, have one myself. Use it for grouse hunting mostly. I live in Sweden, the father of my dog is actually american. Just ordered a Vitus Sentier, can't wait to try it.
@@that_squires_guy thanks for the quick reply, hopefully the site I'm looking at in the UK gets my size frame in stock again, all out 😰 when I asked if it was better I just meant spec wise, I'm pretty out of touch with the MTB game.
Good work bro!! Ron is going to serve you well!!
Just unboxed mine...not ridden yet👍

this bike is so beautiful but from which site you can buy it.
Cool bike man! Considering a Vitus Rapide myself. Do you happen to know where these frames were built? There's usually a sticker on there somewhere.

@@that_squires_guy Not quite, took the 29 VR version. But they seem very similar.
What's the 29r version of this bike called pleez?
does this not have though axles or quick release wheel?
what frame size did you get ? and how does it perform uphills?
Its a hardtail it'll climb fine.
Thinking of buying this bike, how's it been? Is it better than the Nucleus 275 VRX?
