Any thoughts or recommendations regarding the feet and shoes with all the water crossings? Thank you,

First off, I always run with Injinji Ultra socks. They will keep your toes from blistering. Then any good trail shoe will be fine, but there are rocky parts so I reccomend getting a shoe with more stack/cushion, depending on your distance. Altra Lone Peak, Hoka Speedgoat, Hoka Mafate, Nike Zegama, Saucony Xodus Ultra, or budget buy The North Face Eminus.

@@danerichardson9769 Awesome I really enjoyed that one. My next race/video will be Everglades Ultra in Florida. Good Luck to you!

I'm going, to be honest: I signed up for this race this year just to get the North Face Challenger Hoodie. Any tips or recommendations on what type of shoes or socks to wear since there are a lot of water crossings? And are there certain parts of the trail that you recommend walking due to the steep incline? I know sometimes it's better just to walk up the steep hills because you waste less energy/ get a break/ and sometimes just a tad bit slower than if I were to try running up the hill?
Anyways great video, it looks like a nice trail, and excited to run it next month.

Thanks Erwin! For socks I always recommend Injini Ultra model so you get the toes protected from rubbing and more cushioned. Shoes I think any trail model will do, the terrain was pretty basic, dirt, loose debris, but no crazy muddy conditions. There is a bit of pavement at the beginning so I wouldn’t recommend anything with more aggressive lugs. Also pace yourself at the beginning, most the steep climbing comes early, so don’t waste your energy too soon. Having rolled my ankle is was easy to avoid that temptation. Also layer up, it was very cold at the beginning, but warms up as the race goes on.
