MOST parents are "delusional" when it comes to their own kids. It's unconditional parental love. If parents didn't have that blind spot, no one would survive past 13! 😂
As a child (although my worst crime was talking back to my mom, who at the time was not the nicest to me) and certainly as a parent… my “kids” are now 20, 22 and 24 (until October and August times two) and my oldest is 26 since April… I want to say amen and hell yes. This.

I think Thomas was so emotionally invested in the love of a daughter that he couldn't accept the fact that she really did not care about him at all. It just hurt too much. I heard on youtube (I forget which video) that Doria was the strict parent and Thomas was soft, he was always forgiving and always giving. Migraine didn't believe that Thomas had had a heart attack just before the wedding because she lied about everything. We tend to see things through our own eyes. Since she lied about EVERTHING all the time, she assumed that everyone else did too...including Thomas. She was no doubt informed but assumed that he was lying just as she was lying. That is, after all, what SHE would have done if she were in Thomas' shoes.
I had no idea what was happening, but for some reason I figured Thomas probably didn’t really have a heart attack. At the time I mean. it was just so weird and with everything else that had just happened, I just assumed they cut him loose. See we should never assume and I really gave harry and Megan something of the benefit of the doubt - even though I knew some things were wrong, I thought maybe they somehow misunderstood how things worked or whatever. Projection, absolutely! I believed all of the bad things she said (or she allowed to be said) about her family in the beginning. I never gave them a chance. I feel really bad about that now. It was an interview Samantha gave that completely changed my mind. I guess that's why I defend them so much now. I know they're not perfect, but they don't deserve what Meghan did to them.

Well in ‘Spare’ Harry claimed they arranged for Thomas to fly fromMexico to London with Air NZ. Air NZ tweeted after the book release they do not, & have never, offered flights from Mexico to London.
In their Netflix show Meghan said they were greeting the public one day and someone said to her "I think it's so sad what you're doing to your dad." She then leaves dramatic pause as if we're supposed to fill in the blanks. I remember thinking 'And...what?'. Typical of them they tell half-stories with vague insinuations of misrepresentation by the media.
Imagine raising your daughter her entire life without help from the mother, giving her your last dollar to see her happy, caring for her, nurturing her, and loving her tremendously only for her to turn around and spit in your face and shun you out when it inconveniences her in the least bit. @Lona Marie i honestly don't believe she said she was pregnant before the wedding. The European media would have known that. It was never even discussed. The big problem is Meghan using the children to prevent Harry from leaving her and the US. Archie has British nationality but I don't know about Lili. It would be damaging for the children to keep travelling between continents. Harry would have to stay in the US, if he wanted to co-parent the kids.

Firstly, from both Spare and Revenge, the picture that has been painted is that it was Harry who was terrified of losing Meghan, not the other way round. She had no worries about getting him up the aisle, and as she was in her mid-30's and Harry just a bit younger, waiting around wouldn't be ideal if they wanted children. Also - and this does depend on the details of the specific rumour, because they aren't all the same - the timeline doesn't work. The engagement happened at the end of November 2017, and the date of the wedding was announced two weeks later in mid December. Had she said she was expecting there is no way that date would have been six months later. She'd have trotted up the aisle with a 7 month baby bump leading the way. It's very unlikely that she "lost" this baby in the two weeks between the engagement and the wedding - that would be too obvious. Besides which, I believe the wedding date was already pencilled in when they got engaged. The announcement was just the formality.

She claimed she told Thomas, "We can kill this story, but if we do, we won't be able to do the same for our children some day." She framed Thomas' lie as a betrayal of her future children, which justified cutting him off. It is one of the claims that I just kept beating my head against for months, because it was just so bizarre.
Meghan was telling anyone that would listen that she worked her way through college when in fact her father paid for her to go to an expensive private university + sorority dues…. Her mother was no where to be seen when bills were due but she sure showed up when the royal gravy train pulled in.
In Samantha’s defence, if I saw my own dad being so hurt and put down by a sister who had literally been given everything she desired in her growing up years, I too would have written a book. In Samantha's defence, when she was growing up, she also really wanted to do acting classes, but there was no money for her and Thomas Junior. They were deprived financially during their upbringing. It must be incredibly hurtful years later, to witness all the affection and money splashed on the Princess.

And I'd have been walking down that aisle with a super long face. The honeymoon would have been in Mexico so I could be by his side. But then, I loved my father. These people are disgusting.
The royal family tried repeatability to get her to go see her dad. Work things out in person. They offered to help. They didnt understand why she was treating her dad that way. Meghan told so many lies she couldn't risk her father exposing her fraud.
Thank you for pointing out that even Meghan's "plans" for Thomas's bespoke "morning suit" for the wedding lends credibility to the idea that Meghan NEVER wanted her father to attend. Meghan is clearly a girl who plans ahead, (way ahead), every detail controlled. Not that a top English bespoke tailor couldn't handle alterations in a couple of days....but had Meghan really planned on her father"s participation in her wedding he'd have been in receipt of a large amount of detailed and written info... (as Doria not doubt received)...prepared carefully by Meghan's extensive staff. Meghan would have told Thomas exactly what to wear on the plane, what to wear for the party following the wedding, and what to wear and bring for every minute of his 48 hours before the wedding. He also would have been told who he would be interacting with and when...and what to say and do with everyone and in every possible situation he would be in... (Just as Doria was obviously rigorously prepped...) Just too much missing... Was the tailor really making a bespoke English morning suit?....(tailcoat, waistcoat, stripped pants... also would need correct gloves, shoes, socks, cufflinks etc....or was it just a rental outfit "set aside" for him to be altered at the last minute ?) Even the air ticket seemed phantom... Who doesn't do an overseas reservation and ticket for the father of the bride until the very last minute? All of this smoke and mirrors just makes the "fake children narrative" feel less preposterous to me, as all the ongoing and unabated lying nonsense makes Harry and Meghan look untrustworthy and clearly risky to be involved with. Businesses and non-profits should run for cover.
Yes, and she's very good at using triangulation in order to control every detail of something. She devises stories to tell about other people and find ways to make it seem true by all appearances. The person lied to is none the wiser and neither is the one lied about. There's always some concocted barrier that keeps the victims from interacting. Rosorito is a very tiny, tiny beach town. The tailor is also the local fabric store and party supplies. Internet is either at a hotels lobby or internet cafe or maybe he just didnt have a laptop handy for the scene! My heart breaks for Thomas Markle. TMZ did a nice shoutout to him while he was in the hospital. Threw shade at The Royal Duo for saying he ghosted his daughter for being ashamed that he sold staged photos to the paps. When actually he was in the hospital. They said it was messed up and it really pointed out how the stress of trying to impress the Royal family without help was a trigger for a heart attack. So days before the Wedding it was a big highlight of how cruel Ms. Markle’s treats close family members. The palace published the statement updating Thomas’s health and attendance shortly after TMZ. Meghan probably made up in her mind that her father died and she is still healing from the loss in her own way.
If one of my parents had had a heart attack and I physically had the funds to jump on a plane to be by their side, I honestly wouldn’t care about anything else in my life except to be with them. I just can’t believe Meghan did that to her father, the stress she was causing him at that exact time could of caused another heart attack but a fatal one!! She has no soul, as for Harry, he has lost a parent and should know how important they are, how dare he also text horrible things to Thomas as his laying in hospital after an operation fighting for his life. All I can say is, you obviously had a normal childhood and so your intentions toward your father can be pure and undiluted by trauma. As much as I hate Meghan, I believe her childhood was chaotic and it warped her in many ways. And she grew up in Hollywood. She didn't have the stability/environment to ever develop properly.

Another great review. There’s a lesson here for all parents. Over indulging and giving in to your children’s every whim result in entitled, possibly unpleasant adults. I have to wonder if Meghan's treatment of her father contributed to his declining health. He wasn't in the best of health, but I am sure he was heartbroken about the way she treated him.
Harry has always idealized and idolized his mother. The truth is that he did not really know her other than her fun side. Diana was so young when she had the boys, as well as she passed at such a young age. He's also always going to blame everyone for her death because he feels so guilty that he didn't even take the time to talk to her on the last phone call she made to him. It must have been so concerning for everyone around him that he thinks Meghan is Diana.
💫 I believe that it was rumored that it had been Me-Again's plan ALL along to walk down the aisle alone... hence why she DIDN'T invite her father or sincerely make any arrangements for him to fly over and have a brand new custom handmade suit for him. Unfortunately for her King Charles was NOT going to allow her to walk down the aisle by herself. She kept refusing, but the Queen & the now King Charles vetoed her wishes and insisted on walking her at minimum halfway down the aisle. That bit of "Palace gossip" was floating around almost immediately after the wedding happened. I've never heard anything differently so I'm guessing that it's true.

Samantha has redily admitted to her mistakes, and I truly believe she was trying to step in and help her father when Meghan and Harry wouldn't. Thomas may still have a hard time believing that Meghan is responsible for everything that happened, but Samantha doesn't seem to blame the Royal Family. In the beginning he believed that Harry, and possibly the whole family had turned Meghan against him. I don't think he will ever fully accept what Meghan is, but I think the rest of the family sees the truth.
So Meghan can buy/display several books about England for the Vanity Fair interview, but her dad can't curate a stupid photo shoot? ps.You are BRILLIANT. You'll note Mr Markle snr could make a remark like that - but he didn't really throw any shade over his daughter whatsoever - almost like the Palace | RF should be responsible - perhaps he'd like to make a donation to the cost of the £35million wedding! .... you know what I mean, he seemed resentful towards the RF - it wasn't their responsibility to mediate between him & his daughter. Meghan’s family sometimes sound lower class in their communications, but I think Thomas just meant Meghan owed him the respect due to a parent and also that she knew he wasn’t doing well physically and financially and should care for him, as he had cared for her during her childhood. Anyone whose father has helped and nurtured them, in the way that he did Meghan, who then ignores their elderly father after they have a heart attack and then stroke, has a heart of stone. Any missteps Thomas made, in no way compare to the callous disregard and inhumanity exhibited by both Harry and Meghan. They are selfish and uncaring, yet constantly harp about the need for being caring and charitable.
@@andrearoyd2942 I certainly agree with you about it not being the RF's place to 'mediate'. I've read many an angry comment about the Queen or Charles not "doing something" to make things better for Thomas, but that is incredibly difficult for in-laws. I've seen so much trouble caused by an in-law thinking that it's their place to jump into their son/daughter-in-law's family problems. It was never my mother-in-law's place to insert herself into any row I had with my family, and thankfully, she never saw it as her business either!
I thought Reiner was hired by Meghan to lure her father into a trap. I believe that he had photographed her earlier. Certainly she knew him (the photographer). Also, high blood pressure is often associated with small brain bleeds and Thomas's increasing distress and heart problems undoubtedly affected his mental ability to connect the dots, that is, to make sense of the weird events on his life. His poor health also would probably show as dressing poorly, not eating properly, etc. It is a tragedy for an award-winning lighting director to end up like this and Meghan has a lot to answer for.
This is the weirdest thing (if you looked at the players involved on face value). Thomas Sr got caught out by the media, and Harold warned him to not engage with them because they'll eat you alive. Which they did. And they cut him off for it? Look at Harold and his 'mission' against the press. Of anyone, you'd think he would be compassionate towards Thomas Sr because he knows how manipulative they can be. Diana interview anyone?? This just proves to me they don't care about impact of the media as a whole, but just when it impacts them. They are hollow and I'm glad they are getting found out more and more. In 2018, I could tell Meghan was going to be trouble, but at the same time, I believed the Palace framing about her family. They made it sound like Thomas was this loser deadbeat dad who couldn’t be bothered to show up to walk his daughter down the aisle, and that all except of course her “diverse” mother were low-life opportunists. “Poor Meghan.” I was shocked to learn that she had a privileged upbringing and that her dad was more or less her sole caregiver for the majority of her childhood and opened many industry doors for her. Meghan and the Palace did a masterful job of flipping that script. So she basically had the victim narrative going before she even entered the family.

It’s deplorable that they left Thomas to the wolves. After H’s belief that the media killed his mother they should never have left M’s father, of all people, to survive a global onslaught alone. No surprise that he had a heart attack before the wedding, they literally, not figuratively, broke his heart. They have nearly killed him, it’s a them problem, not a T Markle problem. Obviously Thomas was stressed out and yeah, he probably was overeating. But the stress of the situation more than likely had to with the heart attacks.
Oprah made fun of their “cottage” where she met them before the wedding to plan their demise from the start! So by the time of that (at least) 17-lie pathetic interview, it was all scripted and Markle had her lines memorized as if for a TV episode…and for some parts, Harry messed up his lines.
Exactly why is Meghan involving her fiancee in the drama with her father and why is Harry speaking to his potential father in law in such a disrespectful way? Harry didn't even have enough class to meet Meghan's father before he proposed to her. He has poor manners to say the least.
These are my thoughts as well. Where does Harry get off speaking with authority over Thomas? That is the through line that is often displayed with these two. They believe they have ultimate authority and conflate assertiveness with tyranny. They conflate ambition with greed, and confidence with entitlement. Both Harry and Meghan try to assert faux humility with their language, but their actual behavior couldn’t be any more demeaning and prideful. They command public adoration and anyone who doesn’t bow at their feet is discarded. The confrontation between Harry and Thomas was certainly done at Meghan’s behest.
As with a lot of people I had not heard of TW or Suits🤷🏼♀️ TBH I have better things to do than watch TV. When she was swaggering around on the News with the traitor in her ripped jeans and it came to light that she was trying to distance herself from her father and siblings I said to my dear husband that I suspected that she was embarrassed by her roots ……… but then Doria appeared at the wedding that cost us UK taxpayers an arm and a leg and I got it. Anyone who denies their family in an attempt to look “good” is an shallow and horrible individual. How hurtful and cruel. The Markles are what they are and why shouldn’t they be? Very good points. The RF would only have a limited control of H&Ms behaviour, they are both loose canons with no boundaries and the family knew how much damage they could do, but they are adults. After all, they’d spent years managing the emotionally labile H, which MM then just manipulated
I honestly don’t know where to start! The strategy of when they intended to bring the parents to London makes absolutely no sense! I understand H&M we’re beyond difficult to try to manage but for Pete’s sake‼️ I’m shocked the RF the Firm whomever is in charge was giving them this much freedom. Just the reality of “ jet lag” seems there was no understanding how ridiculous these plans were to begin with. Thomas has zero support Doria did have, totally disorganized unless it was deliberate. According to Lady Colin Campbell's sources, the Royal Family DID ASK several times. What kind of family did you think they were? Of course they were aghast that there seemed to be no plans to bring the Markles and Raglands in way before the actual wedding date. There are protocols about meeting the bride's family prior to the wedding but Bridezilla Meghan and Angry Harry kept brushing them off and reassuring the family that they were taking care of it. As Lady C said, "the Royal Family revere family and invite even 5th cousins to the wedding" so Meghan's lack of family felt very strange to them. But as Lady C said, you can tell a lone wolf by how little baggage they carried. And Meghan travelled very light indeed.

My dad suffered a heart attack and a few years later he required an angioplasty procedure and two stents placed in his arteries to prevent future blockages. A few years later, there was nothing that could be done to strengthen his weakened heart. His heart could no longer beat strongly enough to sustain his life. I would say M will regret time lost with her father but it would be in character for her to make herself look like the victim when she actually loses him. It made me so angry to hear both her & H say she has “lost her father in all this”.

Migraine didn't believe that Thomas had had a heart attack just before the wedding because she lied about everything. We tend to see things through our own eyes. Since she lied about EVERTHING all the time, she assumed that everyone else did too...including Thomas. She was no doubt informed but assumed that he was lying just as she was lying. That is, after all, what SHE would have done if she were in Thomas' shoes.
I had no idea what was happening, but for some reason I figured Thomas probably didn’t really have a heart attack. At the time I mean. it was just so weird and with everything else that had just happened, I just assumed they cut him loose. See we should never assume and I really gave harry and Megan something of the benefit of the doubt - even though I knew some things were wrong, I thought maybe they somehow misunderstood how things worked or whatever. @Lona Marie i honestly don't believe she said she was pregnant before the wedding. The European media would have known that. It was never even discussed. The big problem is Meghan using the children to prevent Harry from leaving her and the US. Archie has British nationality but I don't know about Lili. It would be damaging for the children to keep travelling between continents. Harry would have to stay in the US, if he wanted to co-parent the kids.

Firstly, from both Spare and Revenge, the picture that has been painted is that it was Harry who was terrified of losing Meghan, not the other way round. She had no worries about getting him up the aisle, and as she was in her mid-30's and Harry just a bit younger, waiting around wouldn't be ideal if they wanted children.
Also - and this does depend on the details of the specific rumour, because they aren't all the same - the timeline doesn't work. The engagement happened at the end of November 2017, and the date of the wedding was announced two weeks later in mid December. Had she said she was expecting there is no way that date would have been six months later. She'd have trotted up the aisle with a 7 month baby bump leading the way. It's very unlikely that she "lost" this baby in the two weeks between the engagement and the wedding - that would be too obvious. Besides which, I believe the wedding date was already pencilled in when they got engaged. The announcement was just the formality.

He also would have been told who he would be interacting with and when...and what to say and do with everyone and in every possible situation he would be in... (Just as Doria was obviously rigorously prepped...) Just too much missing...
Was the tailor really making a bespoke English morning suit?....(tailcoat, waistcoat, stripped pants... also would need correct gloves, shoes, socks, cufflinks etc....or was it just a rental outfit "set aside" for him to be altered at the last minute ?) Even the air ticket seemed phantom...

Rosorito is a very tiny, tiny beach town. The tailor is also the local fabric store and party supplies. Internet is either at a hotels lobby or internet cafe or maybe he just didnt have a laptop handy for the scene! My heart breaks for Thomas Markle. TMZ did a nice shoutout to him while he was in the hospital. Threw shade at The Royal Duo for saying he ghosted his daughter for being ashamed that he sold staged photos to the paps. When actually he was in the hospital. They said it was messed up and it really pointed out how the stress of trying to impress the Royal family without help was a trigger for a heart attack. So days before the Wedding it was a big highlight of how cruel Ms. Markle’s treats close family members. The palace published the statement updating Thomas’s health and attendance shortly after TMZ. Meghan probably made up in her mind that her father died and she is still healing from the loss in her own way.
If one of my parents had had a heart attack and I physically had the funds to jump on a plane to be by their side, I honestly wouldn’t care about anything else in my life except to be with them.
I just can’t believe Meghan did that to her father, the stress she was causing him at that exact time could of caused another heart attack but a fatal one!!

All I can say is, you obviously had a normal childhood and so your intentions toward your father can be pure and undiluted by trauma. Harry has always idealized and idolized his mother. The truth is that he did not really know her other than her fun side. Diana was so young when she had the boys, as well as she passed at such a young age. He's also always going to blame everyone for her death because he feels so guilty that he didn't even take the time to talk to her on the last phone call she made to him. It must have been so concerning for everyone around him that he thinks Meghan is Diana.

Unfortunately for her King Charles was NOT going to allow her to walk down the aisle by herself. She kept refusing, but the Queen & the now King Charles vetoed her wishes and insisted on walking her at minimum halfway down the aisle.

Samantha has redily admitted to her mistakes, and I truly believe she was trying to step in and help her father when Meghan and Harry wouldn't. Thomas may still have a hard time believing that Meghan is responsible for everything that happened, but Samantha doesn't seem to blame the Royal Family. In the beginning he believed that Harry, and possibly the whole family had turned Meghan against him. I don't think he will ever fully accept what Meghan is, but I think the rest of the family sees the truth.

Meghan’s family sometimes sound lower class in their communications, but I think Thomas just meant Meghan owed him the respect due to a parent and also that she knew he wasn’t doing well physically and financially and should care for him, as he had cared for her during her childhood.
Anyone whose father has helped and nurtured them, in the way that he did Meghan, who then ignores their elderly father after they have a heart attack and then stroke, has a heart of stone.
Any missteps Thomas made, in no way compare to the callous disregard and inhumanity exhibited by both Harry and Meghan.

I've read many an angry comment about the Queen or Charles not "doing something" to make things better for Thomas, but that is incredibly difficult for in-laws. I've seen so much trouble caused by an in-law thinking that it's their place to jump into their son/daughter-in-law's family problems. It was never my mother-in-law's place to insert herself into any row I had with my family, and thankfully, she never saw it as her business either!
I thought Reiner was hired by Meghan to lure her father into a trap. I believe that he had photographed her earlier. Certainly she knew him (the photographer). Also, high blood pressure is often associated with small brain bleeds and Thomas's increasing distress and heart problems undoubtedly affected his mental ability to connect the dots, that is, to make sense of the weird events on his life. His poor health also would probably show as dressing poorly, not eating properly, etc. It is a tragedy for an award-winning lighting director to end up like this and Meghan has a lot to answer for.

Of anyone, you'd think he would be compassionate towards Thomas Sr because he knows how manipulative they can be. Diana interview anyone?? This just proves to me they don't care about impact of the media as a whole, but just when it impacts them. They are hollow and I'm glad they are getting found out more and more. Thomas Sr has his issues, and def seems like a narc himself. But treating an ageing parent like this at the end of life whilst preaching kindness and compassion makes Harry's wife look like the wolf she really is

In 2018, I could tell Meghan was going to be trouble, but at the same time, I believed the Palace framing about her family. They made it sound like Thomas was this loser deadbeat dad who couldn’t be bothered to show up to walk his daughter down the aisle, and that all except of course her “diverse” mother were low-life opportunists. “Poor Meghan.” I was shocked to learn that she had a privileged upbringing and that her dad was more or less her sole caregiver for the majority of her childhood and opened many industry doors for her. Meghan and the Palace did a masterful job of flipping that script. So she basically had the victim narrative going before she even entered the family.
I did to an extent as well. Shame on me for believing that narrative.

It’s deplorable that they left Thomas to the wolves. After H’s belief that the media killed his mother they should never have left M’s father, of all people, to survive a global onslaught alone. No surprise that he had a heart attack before the wedding, they literally, not figuratively, broke his heart. They have nearly killed him, it’s a them problem, not a T Markle problem. These are my thoughts as well. Where does Harry get off speaking with authority over Thomas? That is the through line that is often displayed with these two. They believe they have ultimate authority and conflate assertiveness with tyranny. They conflate ambition with greed, and confidence with entitlement. Both Harry and Meghan try to assert faux humility with their language, but their actual behavior couldn’t be any more demeaning and prideful. They command public adoration and anyone who doesn’t bow at their feet is discarded. The confrontation between Harry and Thomas was certainly done at Meghan’s behest.

Anyone who denies their family in an attempt to look “good” is an shallow and horrible individual. How hurtful and cruel. The Markles are what they are and why shouldn’t they be? According to Lady Colin Campbell's sources, the Royal Family DID ASK several times. What kind of family did you think they were? Of course they were aghast that there seemed to be no plans to bring the Markles and Raglands in way before the actual wedding date. There are protocols about meeting the bride's family prior to the wedding but Bridezilla Meghan and Angry Harry kept brushing them off and reassuring the family that they were taking care of it. As Lady C said, "the Royal Family revere family and invite even 5th cousins to the wedding" so Meghan's lack of family felt very strange to them. But as Lady C said, you can tell a lone wolf by how little baggage they carried. And Meghan travelled very light indeed.

My dad suffered a heart attack and a few years later he required an angioplasty procedure and two stents placed in his arteries to prevent future blockages. A few years later, there was nothing that could be done to strengthen his weakened heart. His heart could no longer beat strongly enough to sustain his life. I would say M will regret time lost with her father but it would be in character for her to make herself look like the victim when she actually loses him. It made me so angry to hear both her & H say she has “lost her father in all this”.
